Anthony's is ALWAYS a win/win situation. Fish is fresh & delicious!! My husband LOVES that the fries are gluten free!! Annette, our server, was d'lightful. All 4 of us loved our meals. It's boring to always write the same review....but Anthony's is always good.
The restaurant has a lot going for it. Our food was very good. The waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable which we needed as we rarely order fish. The atmosphere was excellent. They have a beautiful large pond right behind the restaurant. Our seats were right next to it. They had ducks and fish in the pond. Very georgeous and unexpected but so wonderful to see. They also had outdoor tables with many customers eating outside. I also like the walkway out side which lead to another parking lot besides the one right on front of the restaurant. We know we are going back!
La comida deliciosa, como siempre.
We enjoyed ourselves and the food was good as always. The hostess brought a dessert for the birthday girl, she really enjoyed that. Thank you.
Could have used a little more attention from our server. The crab and shrimp were nice and fresh. The shredded carrots in the salad do not taste good. Great bread, would have liked more. Indoors a bit tired, outdoors very pretty.
Been an Anthony's customer for 50 years, great seafood, awesome service, beautiful location, reasonable prices, what more do you need
We were seated outside, which I absolutely recommend. It was beautiful. The food was fresh and well prepared. We enjoyed out date thoroughly.
We had a fantastic Valentine’s dinner!
When we first arrive and was being seated by an older lady with black hair, we informed her we would like the window table requested in our reservation. She stated the two tables side by side, next to the seat we were provided, was for a party of 6. A few minutes later a party of 2 arrived and then another separate party of two arrived at the second table. The food was excellent and our waiter took great care of us. The seating arrangement could be better as I was directly facing another tables party. I would suggest having a change to make it more private. We tried the homemade cookies with ice cream and it was delicious. The cookies were nice and warm fresh out of the oven. Overall it was good dinner, leaving me with a bad impression of the old black haired lady.
We will go back during a quieter time. Valentines Day was nice, but is much better when the place isn’t packed.
Only real complaint is we made reservations and were seated 23 minutes after the reservation.
Also the Halibut was dry.
Awesome service from Brina! She was very kind and patient with my elderly father and step-mom.
Super busy on Valentine's day, and still the service was fast and food delicious💛
The food is always great. We were left with empty water and ice tea glasses. We requested rolls and never got any. The food was great but was disappointed with the service.
Always an excellent place to celebrate Valentines Day and Birthdays with your sweetheart.
They were out of 2 items on the menu and did not tell us until after we had ordered each of them.
Clam chowder was excellent. The garden salad with the house blue cheese was also exceptional. The lobster and the salmon were also excellent choices.
The food is very expensive and not worth the serving you receive. I am sure if they lowered their prices it would have been full with customers. The restaurant only had a few people in it at noon on Sunday,
I will not return.
We had bay shrimp Louie and crab and shrimp Louie, both had VERY generous portions of seafood. Our server Carlos Z was quick to offer more bread, and happy to bring extra salad dressing. Our busboy came around frequently with iced tea refills. The outdoor seating is very attractive, and you’re allowed to feed the ducks.
Always delicious food & nice friendly servers. Anthony’s never disappoints!
Had the Squid steak with a house salad and a baked potato all of which was great and priced very reasonable. Will definitely be going back.
We were at Anthony's on the water front almost 40 years ago (still have the souvenir drink glass). We loved it then. Was one of the reasons we returned to visit san diego. So sad you are no longer on warf! BUT we visited the La Mesa facility. HAD TO DO IT!. Loved it, but still miss the original. We walked by the water front facility with the fence up around it. A worker was coming out through the gate as we passed by. I asked if this was Anthony's and he said yes it was. My reply, "too bad it is gone." He said, "yes it is." Someday the city will realize it cut it's own throat by treating you so badly! Hope it is sooner than later. They will deserve it and my ire.

I love this place. Took my sister here for lunch Sunday because it is her favorite restaurant. The setting is relaxing because of the view. The food is very good. I try something new many times when I'm here and can honestly say I have liked everything I have tried. Also, for dessert, their chocolate mousse is delicious!
The food was great but the service was terrible. We had a 6:30pm reservation and we weren't seated until 7:20. We didn't receive our dinner until 8:15. The waiter said that they were very short staffed and apologized. However, we noticed that the Manager was going around to other tables that were delayed and handed out coupons to compensate them for the delays, but she never stopped by our table. That was the most disappointing moment of the evening...
Had to wait a long to be seated. Front desk were very rude. There were tables.
We used to go to the one in Downtown San Diego and was bummed when it closed after so many decades. We tried this one in La Mesa and it didn’t disappoint. Their clam chowder is the best! The dinner portions are substantial so you get your money’s worth.
Very busy night but with our OpenTable reservation we were promptly seated.
Great view of the lake with ducks and waterfalls. The fish cuisine is equally as delicious and good - sandabs and shrimp cooked to perfection and quite tasty - nicely seasoned. It's your 'go to' place in San Diego for seafood.
Anthony's has always been one of our favorite restaurants. We really miss the old one on Harbor Island but La Mesa is still an easy drive (about 30 minutes) and worth the trip!!
We were late for our reservation , brought extra people, and still got seated right away and treated great.
Always such good food and great service! We go every time we come to San Diego.
