Anthony's at Paxon Hollow
Clams were extremely small. Wish they would have mentioned it, they were a waste of money.
Food was average. Not great not bad. The fish tacos were good but served with fries which seemed odd. Would have been better with s mex salad, slaw, or Spanish rice, etc. We sat outside on a gorgeous warm spring evening and the view was amazing. The house cabernet was okay. Drink portion was small. No GF drink options like Omission beer and no ciders. Service was good. Would return for the outdoor eating experience.
This restaurant is at a golf club, so you understand there are likely banquets, parties, or weddings. It is a beautiful spot overlooking the 18th green. We were sat right away and they were very accommodating. The waiter was attentive and enthusiastic even if he didn't know the available wines by the bottle. We started with the fried calamari which was a little under cooked and needing seasoning. My wife had the lobster ravioli which was over salted, probably too much salt in the boiling water, but had ample lobster and tasty sauce. I had the prosciutto, spinach, risotto with shrimp. The risotto was perfect, but the large pieces of prosciutto made it a bit salty. The shrimp were large and done just right. We had an enjoyable time and will likely add this to our list of favorite Italian restaurants.
And neighborhood JAM love going to this restaurant around the corner from my home!
We had made a 615 reservation on a Saturday night and arrived around 600. They seated us right away. It wasn't crowded at all when we arrived but within a half hour it started filling up quick. We were disappointed with the menu, they didn't seem to have to many choices and I didn't see choice for extra sides. I ordered the NY Strip and it only came with mashed potatoes. My wife ordered crab cakes and she had a nice little veggie medley.
We will definitely go back.
Also, they had an event starting in their main ballroom, so it was a little crowded trying to leave
Always wonderful food and service! Friendly staff.
We went for an early lunch, so the lace was empty except for a few golfers at the bar. We order the steak sandwich and burger, as well as salad and soup. The Anthony’s salad was exceptional, crisp and well dressed, served on a cold plate. The steak sandwich was large with a fresh tool and generous amount of steak. The burger was large also and cooked perfectly. The accompanying fries were crisp and well seasoned. Can’t wait to go back for dinner.
I have already recommended to everyone I spoke to. The food was fabulous!! The bartender was warm and welcoming to everyone. I just moved here last week from moving away 30 years ago.
I will definitely make this a regular place to get dinner and drinks. He made me the best martini
Went over board on the drink!!
Enjoyed the whole experience. Good food. Food service.
Great Service and food!
The little knats flying around are a big problem that the restaurant should deal with- they always seem to be in there.
Service was so-so tonight. Food is good but it wasn’t busy so no excuse for not fulfilling requests such as needing a fork etc.
Anthony’s is a regular spot for us. As always, the food was awesome, but the service was lacking. We have had Giana before and find her to be very inattentive. She almost give the vibe like you are bothering her to sit in her section. In addition to her offputting attitude, there was no apology when they screwed up my mothers dinner order.
We will definitely be going back, but will make every effort to not be seated in her sction.
Food good ...same server we usually have. She is awesome but way too many tables for her to handle. Only server on duty. Noise is extremely loud when busy and everytime we go...we notice our drinks are never consistently poured in proper glass and stemware.
the food was very good and the portions were quite generous . My wife and son had the veal parm, my son's girlfriend had the crab cakes, and I had the salmon and scallops over greens. I was very impressed with the perfect doneness of the seafood. The fish, scallops and crab cakes nicely browned yet moist on the inside. Our server was great, and had a good sence of humor.
Just a great little restaurant with a nice outside deck, friendly waitstaff and decent food. Full bar and dancing on certain nights. They are never real busy because I think people don't know they are there.
Food & service good.
I sent my steak back to get cooked well done. It was not initially well done(which I asked for when I ordered it) it came back out after 20 minutes waiting and it still was not well done! I did not complain again. It should have been handled correctly the first time!! Poor!
Noise level was too high as well!
Are outside in the patio and what a beautiful view. Everything was fine with the exception of our food didn't all come at once, which was a bit odd, but the food was good and our waitress was excellent.
Scallops and Crab risotto were delicious, beet salad is also favorite!
Just a very good experience all around. Food was excellent. Waiter
Tried hard to please and prices were reasonable.
We are quickly becoming regulars at Anthony's. We had been to the Drexel Hill location and came to this location on strong recommendations from friends and family. Food and service very good. We ordered burgers and pizza and everything was fresh and cooked to order. In addition, we had a new server named Rob. For only being on the job for a few days, he really seemed to know the menu and made some good recommendations.
Sonia was a very attentive server. Enjoyed sitting on the deck and listening to the music by Jerry Watkins.
We were seated on the outside patio and the view of the golf course was beautiful. Our meals were delicious. Everyone enjoyed their dinners.
A very enjoyable evening.
best eggplant parm i ever had. (ceasarsalad, eggplantparm....dolce)
Nice place. Excellent food
great food, GREAT staff. hey make you feel at home.
Everything was great except for the fact I was charged for four(4) dinners instead of three. Didn't check the bill until the next day.
Saturday dinner for four on a late Spring night. We had requested the covered porch overlooking the golf course, but the weather was not cooperating, so we stayed inside. No problem. The food and drinks were as ordered and served in a timely fashion. We went with the stuffed shrimp, cavatelli & meatballs, broiled bay scallops, and clams casino. Served hot and delicious.
Our server Jake and the staff were friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. We try to get over here once every month or two. It can get a little noisy sometimes with the post golf crowd, but that was not an issue this time around. We'll be back.
The setting is beautiful the food was delicious but for a Sunday afternoon in May I think they should’ve had more than one waitress! She did the best that she could given that the bar was filled with men drinking after golf and there were several families dining and she was the only staff member to take orders and serve our food! I felt so sorry for her I wanted to get up and help
As a result we ended up waiting quite a bit but I didn’t want to complain because it wasn’t her fault at all it was the managements fault!
I also need to add that the bathroom smelled terrible but the first and obvious thing I noticed as I walked in is that all of the ceiling tiles look like they are covered in water and mold and look like it’s about to cave in!
The food and service (Sonya) were very good. The only issue was that between 6:30 and 8:00 PM the noise level was so high. The survey above might call it energetic - I would say it was way too loud for that environment. It was crowded, and people were shouting to each other. My wife and I had to raise our voices to hear each other. We were only 15 feet from the live music entertainment, yet 80% of the time we could not hear them. When we could hear them, they were very good. We will likely try it again at some point. It may have been just that evening.
We sat on the deck and the atmosphere was outstanding. Food was great and the server was very attentive. We will be going back, highly recommend this place.
Birthday. Family gathering. Sat outdoors on the patio, which was MUCH nicer and quieter than inside the restaurant. Beautiful night, so it was possible.
The food and view from the patio were both wonderful. Our waitress, Gianna, did a great job with her pleasant, sunny disposition. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
Dave was a great server and the food was excellent. Food was served in a perfect amount of time from order.
We love Anthony's on State Rd in Drexel Hill, but this Anthony's is nothing like the original. It's really a country club bar that serves food. Very, very loud. Cocktails and food were average at best.
Amazing as always
Food was delicious and our waiter Dave goes above and beyond to serve you!!
Our experience at Anthony’s was “interesting.” We got seated promptly, but then it took quite a while for a server to take our order. The noise level was extremely loud. There was a 30th birthday party going on near the bar area, but it took over the entire restaurant! I felt like I was a party crasher eating dinner in the dining room while the party was going on. Particularly when one of the party guests kept yelling for people to be ready for the guest of honor to arrive. The manager seemed more interested in the party than the dinner patrons. I have to say the food was quite good considering the atmosphere.
My husband and I were celebrating an early Valentine's Day dinner. We had great service. It was pretty quiet that night. We had appetizers and entrees. The food was delicious!
