Whole Crispy Flounder
apricot shallot sauce, slaw
Shrimp & Grits
creamy grits, bacon & tomatoes
Fried Green Tomatoes

Looks a bit old fashioned like the never evolved from a different era bothebthe decor and menu. I enjoyed a whole flounder in a aprocot sauce. My wife ordered scallops which were not cooked properly. She sent it back. She then ordered shrimp with pasta. It looked like a hot mess and not that good. Would not go back
Food was not good. Crispy flounder has been a favorite for years. It was served with slaw which was just cabbage and carrots without any dressing. We were there for a birthday which was on the reservation and was not recognized. Very dissapointed.
I don’t remember the restaurant being so loud when I’ve eaten there in the past. It was too noisy to have a conversation with fellow diners and I regret making that selection for this occasion.
Beautiful restaurant with friendly but slow service. Food was alright but did not live up to the hype. Little to nil crab in the she crab soup, more like a small bowl of flavored cream. The shrimp and grits were heavy but tasty with a insufficient amount of shrimp.
The flounder was tasty but dry.
Great evening had by all. Lovely place, food and stellar service .
Delicious food, great atmosphere, wonderful service. Highly recommend
Out waiter Darnell was fantastic! Great energy and excellent. We loved the ambiance of the restaurant! Definitely will be back when we are in Charleston!
The Anson was a wonderful experience that I shared with my wife. We both agree this is one of the better restaurants we have visited on vacation. We recommend the grouper and the filet mingon! We will definitely be back when we are in town.
Service was great. Food was ok. First time we have been there in several years. Sadly was disappointed.
Definitely recommend. Food was delicious - we got the filet and it was great!
Brussel Sprout appetizer with pickled fresnos and cashews absolutely best we have ever had. Shrimp Pasta and Grouper with Black Rice and Curry were amazing.
Appreciated very much the servers that seemed genuinely happy to work there. Food was interestingly prepared and delicious. A great experience.
Food was huge disappointment.
I was excited to get a reservation at the Anson, since it had just reopened in September. We were welcomed upon arrival and the host thanked us for choosing Anson, which was a nice touch. We were seated upstairs, which I liked better than downstairs; a little less hectic. Although I had checked out the menu prior to making the reservations, I was a little underwhelmed with the choices. I ordered the Little Gem salad and was hard pressed to find any almonds and/or cherries. Our entrees were also rather lacking; I had the scallops and my husband had the swordfish. We passed on dessert because the other courses were so unmemorable. There are so many other upscale restaurants to choose from, based upon our experience, I would recommend Anson be further down on the list. It didn't help either that our waiter had no personality.
The waiter was rude and did not acknowledge our anniversary even though the person that checked us in knew from our reservation. We asked for bread and he said none available. Asked the server that brought our entrees about bread and he said they have not served bread since Covid. My entree was served cold but our waiter never asked anything about our food. Ridiculous!
Crispy flounder and the ribeye were amazing!Always a pleasure to see Mike, the manager. He does a fantastic job of making everyone feel welcome.
Service and ambiance was tremendous, Food was VERY good, came quickly and was hot and presented beautifully.
Will be back.
Our server, Billy, was absolutely wonderful. Was great evening for us. Thank you
Upstairs was very loud due to a large group of men. Thankfully Michael saw what was happening and moved us downstairs which was much better. He is a really good manager and knows how to run a restaurant.
Highly expensive for poor quality and small servings. Deafening sound to try to talk over due to large parties. Will not return.
The food and service was amazing. Highly recommend the flounder, it's been on the menu for 30 years and there's a reason for that! The duck fat apple crisp too was AMAZING! my only gripe was holy heck it was loud. They need curtains or acoustic panels or something. I couldn't hear myself think.
There is a wide variety of food. My favorites are the seafood. The temperature is always good whether it is a salad or entree. The service is outstanding and the ambience is very welcoming.
The food was fantastic! Glad to have found this little gem in the heart of downtown Charleston.
The fried flounder was amazing, but on if my favorite dishes of the night was the Shrimp de Jonghe!
Service/ Food/ host.. all fantastic!!!
My wife and I enjoyed great food, great service and a romantic atmosphere. Would recommend
Service was great, food was spectacular (highly recommend the filet), and our experience was amazing!! Must eat here
Besides waiting for host to greet us and waiter to come over. After that all great host and waiter. Delicious food. First time snd would return.
Great update on the interior and the menu. Food is better than ever. Darnell remains my favorite server in Charleston. The wine list has been improved also! Can’t wait to go back.
From the melt in your mouth signature shrimp dish and delectable fried green tomatos with bacon jam...strip loin steak grilled to perfection with an amazing balanced peppery sauce, scallops and finished with a wonderful creme brulee, the food at Ansons was incredible. Topped off with impeccable service and warm ambiance....this was the perfect anniversary celebration spot. Thank you Ansons....we will be back.
Great she crab soup great fried green tomatoes but misordered with the whole flounder( got a hot pepper in a bite and it was difficult to eat) however the meal was saved with an apple strudel dessert
Great food. Billy, our server, suggested the Crispy Flounder and it was fantastic!
Some of the best food I've eaten in my life. GO HERE. Get the scallops, grouper, or swordfish.
Food, service and atmosphere was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend this stunning restaurant
Excellent food, excellent service, would gladly go again. A little noisier than we prefer, due to both music a bit too loud and noisy neighbors. Glad we were in a corner table.
We miss the varnished wood panel walls but always love the food, service and atmosphere. The new spacing arrangement is very respectful of pandemic concerns while adding to privacy.
Our server, Kyle, was fantastic. He was very attentive, friendly, and courteous.
The food was cooked perfectly and outstandingly delicious!! Kyle recommended the flounder to my husband and he absolutely loved it! Our our roasted oysters were cooked to perfection and my grouper was also perfectly cooked and delicious!
The decor looks to be old but was very recently redone and looks great, very inviting and perfect for the area. We will highly recommend this to anyone we know who may be visiting Charleston.
Our waitress was just a bit pushy when it came to pouring the wine. She was topping the glass way too frequently. Food was really good though.
Delicious food…the the crispy glazed flounder was fantastic and I couldn’t eat enough of the she crab soup…absolutely divine!
