A couple of things went wrong on this visit:
A) They ran out of tables at the fine dining area, so they seated us in some random conference room, even though we had a reservation. It felt like we were attending a seminar and completely killed the mood.
B) There were no menus available and we were forced to have the Valentine’s Day package, which we did not want. No one should be obligated to do that.
In spite of having had a somewhat unpleasant experience this time, my wife and I have very much enjoyed our previous visits and are planning to give Anson11 another chance. We sure hope it doesn’t disappoint!
We specifically came *after* Valentine’s Day to avoid the pre fixe menu. We were disappointed that you chose to use it Feb. 15, too. The food was overpriced for what it was. At nearly $300, you need to serve steak. Not sure we’ll be back.
I cannot speak to their daily menu. However, I can say that my Valentine's dinner experience was poor. To sum it up in a sound bite, it was slow, over priced, and underwhelming. We arrived at 8:15 PM. Our first course was bruschetta. Which consisted of a (as in a single) sliced cherry tomato drowned in olive oil and vinaigrette. No bread. Nothing. Just a cherry tomato. Next was their salad. Small poached egg.and some mustard greens. No flavor. It also came paired with a white wine that was worse than the Angora wine served on Turkish Airlines for free. Third course was two shrimp with what I assume was ratatouille. Really is was two nickle sized slices of one zucchini and one yellow squash. This was followed immediately by a single small scoop of dragon fruit sorbet. At this point it was nearly 10pm. A manager dropped by to apologize for the delay in platings. However, my wife and I were fed up and asked for the check. The price for the total fixed menu meal (with a main course and another pairing of wine we didnt have) was set to be $160. We were not told when we made reservations that there was going to be a fixed menu, nor were we aware of the $160 price tag. The manager comped us one meal and gave us a $50 gift card for our troubles. So, we paid $75, didn't finish our Valentine's dinner and ate pizza down the road.
My girlfriend and I decided to try this place for the first time on valentines day. I made reservations for the fine dining floor and looked at the menu prior to our arrival, we were excited to try the steaks. However once we were seated, we were informed that the chef decided to only have a 4 course meal for the day with two options for the starter and 2 options for the main course, items on the menu would not be an option. The food was very good, but we didnt appreciate that we were not informed of this prior, no where in the website did it say about the menu items not being available. The waitress also forgot to give us the first glass of wine that came with the meal.
Oh man o man where do I start. Well as soon as we walked in the staff was very friendly. Our waiter I have to say was for me the best and most knowledgeable waiter I've ever experienced. He knew the menu extremely well and was so professional and never was overbearing but still quite attentive to our needs. Even walked my wife and I to the restrooms instead of pointing us in the direction seeing it was our 1st time there at this establishment. The 6 course set meal for the evening was EXQUISITE.to say the least. Though it was not a fill your tummy type meql by any means for me as it was a pure fine dining establishment and setting, it was very tasty especially their spare rib plate. The meal admittedly WAS steep for the portion sizes but for the experience, ambiance, taste and especially the service it was well worth it. Kudos to you all at ANSONS 11.
Just went in for the Valentine's day 4 course meal and have been waiting here for more than 3 hours. Food is good but service is just terrible. Other tables that came after us have already finished their course meal and we are still here waiting. Spoke to the manager and all he did was apologize and gave us a small cup of dessert wine. For 80 dollars a person would DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND.
I’m afraid that if you plan on going to the fine dining at Anson11 for valentines or any other holiday expect to wait 3 and a half hours from sit down to check for a three course meal. Even though the management and staff apologized for the wait due to the holiday, it was clearly a management/ service issue as some tables were served in a timely manner and some were not. Watching tables come and go while waiting 45 minutes to an hour between courses was unacceptable especially since you had to order the valentine day special which came with only the choice between two starters and two main courses. I hear over and over about how El Paso doesn’t appreciate fine dining but maybe our fine dining restaurants need a lesson in basic customer service before complaining about its customers.
Really an exceptional place!!
I had a surprise dinner for my wife, and everything went great.
The service was excellent and the food was delicious!!
I'm definitely coming back.
Beautiful building. Excellent value. Salads were very good- fresh, well composed, not overdone
Great ambiance, food was amazing, service was a little slow.
Polenta with mushrooms had almost no polenta. It should have been called “Mushroom on thin bed of polenta.”
We love this restaurant. Excellent food and there service is great.
My wife and I enjoyed our entres very much - the pizza is always good but it was especially tasty that night. The pumpkin gnudi was a hit too - lots of flavorful layers. It’s a good idea to put wine on “special” anytime (by the bottle). We enjoyed a nice drink and went for a bottle of NZ Pinot noir at half price - it makes me feel good to enjoy some wine at half the price. The the idea encourages me to visit more often ( to find out what the next special is or going to be). Don’t stop !
Outstanding service from beginning to end. Our waiter was very attentive to our table and he ensured that our food was to our satisfaction throughout our dinner. My wife and I were celebrating our 22nd year anniversary so I made a note of that when I made our reservation through OpenTable. We were in a little bit of rush to leave only because we had another place to be for our date, so when we asked for our check, our waiter quickly showed up with a delicious dessert that had "Happy Anniversary" written on the plate with a delicious chocolate fudge and my wife was very pleased with that added attention to detail. The staff from Anson 11 definitely left us with the desire to return again!!!
My food was way to salty I could tell it was packaged or processed food not freshly made
Manny was a great waiter. The food was good.
This is my go-to eatery when I'm planning a downtown activity. Service is great, food is delicious, and one can be in and out quickly or can stay and chit chat with nere a care in the world. I love it!
Service was wonderful. Mussels were ordered...could be more fresh.
Appetizer was horrible for the price. Seafood tasted defrosted right before served. I normally am not too picky but for a 16$ appetizer I am. Bread was rock hard couldnt even cut it with the knife.
Jesús, our waiter was very attentive and kind. The lamb was phenomenal- melted off the bone. Atmosphere and vibes were very cool - live music was very talented. We are coming back soon!
Service was impeccable as well as the ambiance. But the food took a very long time about 45-50 minutes and then it was ice cold. Everything else was great.
Wonderful restaurant with amazing food, atmosphere and service! I highly recommend Anson 11!
Good food but slow service
Great place to have a casual luch with your friends or girlfriend. 100%!
Was a great experience celebrating my daughters birthday. The atmosphere was awesome...
Celebrating my Sons birthday and the food was terrible. Potato’s were cold, steaks over cooked, service was so slow. Restaurant was not as busy as usual so I’m not sure what went wrong!! Will not go there again.
Nice restaurant with good ambiance. Wine selection was wonderful.
We celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary and we absolutely enjoyed our experience. Having moved from NYC a few months ago, we were not familiar with all the dining options. We chose this place because it had great reviews and the prices seemed right. Definitely recommend the fine dining!
We came to Anson11 for our anniversary, since it’s our go-to restaurant for celebrations.
The service, while nice and friendly, was slow. The restaurant wasn’t that full at 2:00 pm, and there were several servers on the floor.
To our surprise, only the brunch menu was available until 3:00 pm, though we were told the brunch chef could cook a few items on the dinner menu. That was all right, we found items to order that were as special as we’d planned to order from the other menu.
It took over 45 minutes from being seated to our Eggs Benedict entrees arriving at our table. We should have sent them back. Both plates had been under the heat lamp so long that the salad had wilted, the poached eggs had hardened, and the hollandaise had congealed. When the server returned to ask how the meals were, we should have told her the truth, but we were hungry and eating when she asked the question. The flavors were good. Portions were appropriate.
We will try Anson11 again, but maybe not on a Saturday afternoon.
It’s hard to find a restaurant all of my staff likes, but this one is it. They all love the food, and then we exchanged Secret Santa gifts. It was lovely.
Super attentive staff. Striped bass was superb. Unbelievable wine selection.
My friend and I have dinner every year to celebrate my December birthday. We always get and love the smaller filet. My birthday dessert was the hot chocolate cake I adore. We had great service, and it was a totally wonderful evening!
I would recommend however I would caution on the noise level. It was difficult to carry on a conversation.
Service was surprisingly a little slow since it didn't seem very busy. I definitely expected a little quicker service -- our waiter was plenty nice and accommodating, maybe the kitchen just wasn't as fast as expected.
Anson is great, but they don't know how to handle the high season. They actually seated us by an exit door that opened CONSTANTLY and froze us half to death. When we asked to move, the table next to us said they just did the same thing. Then, people came in after us, were seated at the same table, and were also loudly protesting. When it's freezing, don't sweat guests at that table, folks! Their food is still good though, and our waitress was TOP NOTCH. I will still return, but after the holidays :)
Lamb chop and steak on the tough side. My first lamb chop was well done and they had to bring me one that was medium rare . Scallops very good. Somewhat disappointing for the price.
Food was very
Great atmosphere and food!! Awesome service!
Great food and ambiance and the servers are top notch. Great lunch.
