We really like this place. It is a fun dining experience. The Saganaki is a great starter. It is Greek cheese flamed tableside with brandy, served with pita bread. Be sure to say "opa!" Although this is a Greek restaurant, they have some non-Greek items, including burgers and fettuccine al al fredo. There is a patio where you can enjoy hookah. Some evenings there is a belly dancer.
While quite crowded, we were seated for our 630 reservation very quickly. We had two very nice and reasonably priced bottles of wine to start off with, along with a nice saganaki appetizer. The lamb shank and lamb lovers platter were tasty, as was the Gyros dinner plate.
Glad I had made a reservation, as the place was packed. Little hard to find, since it's tucked behind 2 hotels. Definitely worth finding though. All the food was delicious, and Anastasiya was a great server. It was fairly noisy, esp. when the belly dancer was doing her show. It was still a great time hanging out with my friends.
This is my favorite Mediterranean place in Minnesota, and my non-professional opinion is that the "Taste of Lebanon" is the best combination of flavors in this state. The food is consistently good, regardless of what day of the week it is.
Came here to celebrate promotion with friends on a Saturday night! Staff was attentive and fun, even when we got a little too rowdy. Its not really a rowdy place but a chill bar with amazing greek food! Hotel right across the street makes it perfect for a special night out. Amazing martinis:)
Great food, lots of menu options. Service was fast and attentive.
Wonderful Valentine’s Day dinner special
! Food was great, service friendly and appropriately timed, but difficult to have a decent cross table conversation due to noise levels, especially during the belly dancing routine( although that was a nice addition to the ambiance). Also, parking is limited, but overall, a great night out!
Accommodated table of 7 Quick service
I was very happy with the food and really impressed with the service, but the reason I went in the first place was for the belly dancing, and I was not disappointed. They had a fabulous and lovely dancer, very skilled, very professional, who made the whole evening. I can't wait to see more dancing there! I will definitely be back.
The food was very good and the drinks were amazing. Reasonably priced food with large portions and everything was very hot when it arrived to the table. If you are going out for drinks however, I would consider this place to be a bit more expensive. We happened to stop in on a bingo night and it was a pretty fun night. Give this place a try if you are in the neighborhood.
This restaurant took over an old Baker's Square space. Somehow we'd never noticed it. Service was friendly and prompt. The first item out of the kitchen was the tabbouleh. It was very oily (?!) and looked like it had been sitting around too long, so I was immediately worried about what we'd gotten into. The rest of the meal was great. I had the vegetarian platter and my husband had some combo with a kabob and fried kibbeh. Everything was delicious, particularly the hummus and baba ganoush. Servings were large so we had lots of leftovers the next day.
There were a number of families eating out together. It's a very casual, busy spot. We'll definitely go back and we'd also do takeout.
Just stumbled upon this restaurant because it was near the hotel we were staying at. The online menu looked interesting. Very casual. I had shrimp with couscous. Portions were generous and the food quality was very good. Service was quick and the staff was friendly. I would definitely recommend this place. I know I will return.
First time eating here. Fantastic beer selection and the food was good. I will definitely come back
Absolutely worst service we've had in a long time !! Waitress was very friendly at first and with the other tables around us. But then we received no refills and were very thirsty with our spicy food. She kept disappearing. We thought maybe she went on break but it was multiple times she was no where to be seen. She brought our to go box and "forgot" our bill in the back after we had been waiting in the booth ready to go so we waited and we got our to go food packed up. While she went to grab the bill, she instead delivered the bills for a large table.... all while we sat there waiting for ours. THEN she RAN their cards! While We were still waiting just to have it dropped off! We waiting for 20 minutes with our jackets on. This was all very much on purpose. So disappointing. we spent 60 bucks! Maybe she was upset we didnt order alcohol. We will not be back for a while. Such a bummer since we LOVE the food and atmosphere and love supporting local restaurants.
Our overall experience was okay, not too bad but not great either. We went there on the new years eve, so I can understand the service was not as expected as it was fairly crowded. But I was expecting better food but it was kind of disappointing. the meat was too dry and salty. From an above average expensive restaurant I would expect better food.
Ansari's is my daughters choice for her birthday dinner every year for the last several years now. She turned 12 on Christmas Eve, it's hard to know what to expect from a restaurant on a holiday but the food is always amazing and the place is always packed. My only minor complaint is being charged extra for pitas for the family gyros platter, and I think kids meals are a little high at $7. For our family of 6 we usually spend around $100 by the time sodas, a couple beers, and tip is factored in but that is comparable with other sit down restaurants for us and the food is just so much better. My daughter got a great birthday dessert with baklava and ice cream, and I ordered a cheesecake which was pretty standard but hit the spot.
My 4 stars for service was only based on this last visit because our server was never really around and our group of 9 sat with empty sodas and waters for the whole meal - seems she only cared about keeping up with bar drinks $.
All in all, highly recommend and it is one of our favorite date night spots and we were pretty happy when my daughter started choosing Ansari's for her birthday dinner over chains like Applebees and Red Robin (lol).
Ansaris is fabulous authentic Mediterranean food. Happy hour is extremely fabulous and they offered it in Christmas Eve. The owner and our server were awesome. Friendly. Attentive. Food is the best!!!!
Our server was friendly and the food was good. Didn't feel rushed. Would definitely go back if in the area again.
Love the kabobs and hummus the cheeseburgers awesome as well had a few very strong cocktails! The kid loved the belly dancing definitely be back !!!
I love coming here, but this last time I have to admit, the service was very very poor...we had a big table and some of my guests waited over two hours for their food
Service was very friendly.
Decor is drab, dark and very worn. A bit depressing. Also, it feels and smells very bar-like.
Food was mixed. Kebabs we're good--flavorful and moist, unlike so many places where they're dry or rubbery. But other items either excessively salty or excessively tangy.
probably won't go back.
Slow service. It wasn't busy on a Thursday night and yet the waitress took a while to get our order and also our food took long time.
Food was good as always. The buffet is a good deal at $15 and the apps and entres were delicious. My sister especially raved about the ahi tuna. My fav is the gyros pizza which I did not get this time but will get next time.
Very unhappy that they put us in the bar. I had told them it was our anniversary but that didn't matter. Food was good but.....not good seating for an anniversary.
We were very disappointed in our experience. We were seated in a booth that had a big dried piece of gyro meat. My husband asked a waitress, who was clearing a table across the way, for something to wipe off the booth, she proceeded to hand us a used cloth napkin, it was absolutely disgusting! The floor was sticky & you could hear that with each step. The dining area had nice music playing but it was very hard to hear over that blaring TV from the bar area. Our food came out & the appetizer was cold in the middle & our entree was comparable to what you'd get in a fast food place. We could not believe it. We love Mediteranean Food & this was close to our home so we hoped it was decent.
We will never go back it was just bad across the board... what a let down.
I made reservations a week prior, to celebrate my anniversary. It was my boyfriends first time to the restaurant, my second. I ordered my appetizer both at tge front desk and once again from my server. The appetizer came after my meal because my server forgot to put it in, and asked if the food runner brought it out. I could tell he forgot because i was a server at one point in my life, and i know servers use that for an excuse. I just would have preferred he be honest. In addition, my server did not attend to my table as much, because he had other tables who had seperate checks, one of which was a party. I know he wanted to provide great service for his table, but i didnt think my dinner would suffer. I usually rip very well and in fact was prepared to give a gracious tip, but did not think it was warranted because of such poor service.
Our server was very nice and friendly, although the service was a little slow that night. Their food is delicious! We all ordered something different and it all tasted great, especially the lamb, which was cooked to perfection. They have a great menu and very nice staff so I will go back again and again.
Great greek food with an appropriate atmosphere. Service was very good and there was even a belly dancer to kick up the crowd at night. Fun all around with very good food.
Belly dancing and everything perfect!
Food was alright. The service was horrible. I didn't have a utensils. I have to get my own off another table bcuz the waitress took to long to get me one. Also, when I asked for another sauce it took the waitress another hour to get back to my table to check my table only to forget the sauce I originally asked for. Service is horrible. It might took me a while to come back to this place again.
Great food and service. Love the mezza platter, a bit of everything.
You need to have vegan options! We couldn't even eat fries because you guys fry them in the same oil as meat! Falafel and fries are usually go to vegan options, but not here. Even the pita bread has eggs in it!!!
We love going to Ansari's. We have been there close to 30 times and have never had a bad meal, experience or survice.
They deleted the all you can eat crab legs on sundays on short notice>I called Friday to confirm, when we arrived sunday, they said oh the crab special, let me check on it. And came back no, we don't do that anymore.
We came here to celebrate my birthday. The food was amazing! My only complaint was our horrible server! She was rude, unpleasant, annoyed when we ordered food and drinks and not attentive at all! She was awful!
Looked promising, disappointing in the end. The food was fair, and the place had a lingering smell of cigarettes. We won't be going back!
Everything is great every time we go to Ansari's. Brunch, lunch or dinner.
Good Greek food. It was nice to have options to taste many different foods.
We started with Spanakopita, Spinach Pies. Excellent. We then had a couple of the Mediterranean pasta dishes. Both were excellent. It was a Friday so there was belly dancing too! Families with small kids were even enjoying the ambiance. At the end of the day, in my opinion, this is a "working-person's" Mediterranean restaurant with multi-cultural customers and enjoyable food. Not a lot of glitz and glamour. Great service and a personable wait staff! I'll be back. (Great libation selection too!)
Pleasantly surprised to find very good Greek food and great service. Restaurant is a bit run down and in need of redecorating. Good casual spot.
