Food is usually great and so is the service but tonight the service was poor
Food wasnt bad... the thing that honestly grinded my gears was my reservation was at 4:30 and didnt get seated till 4:55zzz
I ask as to what the hold up was and they have no explanation. Some dirty random person drops off the food without saying what it is.
Just one hell of an experience. Would not recommend this place for anyone.
My Le must restaurant when traveling to the Orange County area. Their roasted crab dish is a signature meal and is excellent.
Minus- our server brought out our entree on top of our appetizer so we sent our entree back to the kitchen until we finished the first course. We felt rushed so service evaluation takes a hit.
The menu at AnQi is very interesting and somewhat unusual. There is a good selection of small plates. We choose three and all were very good; crispy pastrami egg rolls, filet mignon potstickers and roasted pork bao buns. From the "secret kitchen" we choose the garlic noodles. The ambiance is very attractive and the service ok. The price is somewhat high so the value proposition is only fair. AnQi is recommended for a good dining experience with a novel menu.
One of my favorite restaurants in all of SoCal. The tuna tacos are heavenly. And of course the garlic noodles are amazing!
The food and table service is always consistently great
Was ok overall but it was little too pricy for what you get.
The food was very good. We started with the pork buns, which were delicious. I had the butterfish and a side of garlic noodles. So good! My friend had the garlic noodles and added steak to her noodles. She loved it. I like to sit on the furthest side of the restaurant because it is a little quieter and less lit. Overall, I would highly recommend this place.
This is my second time at Anqi. I had such a wonderful experience the first time. I decided to go back for me and my husband’s wedding anniversary. Our server Caleb was very kind and warm. Unfortunately, one of our orders was wrong and had to be brought back. Later in the evening, my husband ordered garlic noodles but never received it, but we were charged for it anyway. Caleb was very apologetic. The menu this time around was not as appealing as the first time. I struggled choosing what to order. It may be a while before I go back.
Fantastic food at AnQi and love the atmosphere in the restaurant!
Way overpriced for the food and the New Year's show was embarrassing.
The Chinese New Year celebration was FANTASTIC and the food too!
My son and I had already celebrated an early Chinese (Lunar) New Year with family in San Francisco. We wanted to continue celebrating - but with just the two of us. AnQi was our choice.
We ordered the famous crab and the special quail. Wow, delicious! If there’s anything we wished, it would be that the quail and the crab were bigger! The taste of the entrees were perfect.
I liked the garlic noodles, but I have had the garlic noodles taste cooked better (to perfection) at the other Crustaceans. 1.) in Beverly Hills and 2.) in San Francisco. Both restaurants are owned by the An family.
I like to start with the positive. Then I’ll give my constructive feedback on my visit at AnQi.
The restaurant is beautiful. The decor reminds me of a hip place where all the cool people go. Very modern with Asain accents. Everyone dressed well. There was a mixed crowd. The food was also good.
I didn’t fully get to enjoy my experience because our waitress was a bit rude. When we ordered, we had questions about the menu. She wasn’t helpful at all. It almost seemed like she didn’t want to be there. My colleague had a question and she dismissed him. Thankfully He laughed it off. But I can tell he was embarrassed.
I’m not sure if I’d visit again.
Very nice waitress and very good food as usual
Great place for a quite conversion. Food was excellent. The cost was on the high side, but worth every penny!
My favorite restaurant. Fabulous food. Service was very slow this time though. We got two dishes right away ( we were sharing all) and the third cam much, much later (Vietnamese street noodles). All were great. Place was not packed, either.
I had friends from Louisiana in town for a convention and met two of their friends that night and invuted them out with us. The hostess able to add another seat for us no problem. The food was amazing, and hospitality from all areas was excellent. Will definitely be back.
Hostess wasn’t pleasant and frustrated when we requested a different table than the highly lighted area none of us wanted. Could have been more accommodating and easy going about it. Quality of food was not what we anticipated. Had we known restaurant was in the mall wouldn’t have booked.
Outstanding service by the staff. Disappointed the Pad-Thai was cold when served. The chicken salad was good, sadly the chicken was over cooked, Tuna taco's were excellent. I don't think I'll be back, the value wasn't there.
All the staff made my boyfriend’s and my experience truly incredible. We came here hoping to celebrate our anniversary and they made sure everything was perfect. They even included a Happy Anniversary card and a sweet dessert at the end! Thank you so much Anqi for a beautiful night. We hope to see you again soon.
Great food with exceptional service. Friendly staff who helped make the evening so good!
Food tasted great but came to the table just barely warm. We had to send back two dishes and would have sent one more back, but just gave up. They did replace my fish with a new, hot version, but they didn't comp my dinner... just comped a dessert. Strange customer service - not from the server, she was great. But management didn't stop by the table to ask if everything was ok. Very odd for a high-end dining experience. We've eaten there many, many times for years and it's not quite the same since their manager Guiseppi left to open Mr. G's in Newport a few years ago.
I dine here with my wife regularly. Tonight we dined here with my parents. They absolutely loved it here. The taste and presentation of the steak is one of my favorites and always order table side ice cream. You can’t go wrong.
Amazing every time! We love this restaurant and always an awesome experience
Best (and favorite) restaurant in Orange County!
Great way to bring in the New Year!
Overpriced even for OC. Food was just meh. Nothing special. Had tastier and better food at hole in the wall joints. Won’t dine here again.
Food was amazing. A little pricey but you get what you pay for. Definitely the best garlic noodles I’ve ever had!
Early New Year’s Eve dinner. The restaurant was calm & comfortable & the meal was Outstanding. A surprisingly intimate meal for such a large space. Loved it. Just Great.
Food was good; the service was not. On two different occasions we had to ask for our waiter (and there was two, as one was a trainee).
Everything was great with the exception of the service. While the server was very nice she forgot numerous items & we had trouble getting people to clear dirty dishes & glasses
As usual my wife and i enjoy their food service, etc
The only negative was the LOBSTER hors d’oubtre it did not taste like lobster at all.
However we will COME BACK because the overall experience was excellent.
This is not the place to go if you're hungry. Small portions big price. The food, however small serving, is delicious though.
Excellent service and delicious food. Good variety of vegetarian dishes offered. Great time every time.
Meeting with friends
We had a wonderful girls celebration! The appetizers were wonderful! Each loved their meal and the coconut ice cream dessert out of this word!!!!
We arrived a couple minutes before our reservation and were seated soon after. It was pretty crowded for a 1:30PM lunch but not excessively noisy which is great. Our server was amazing and the food was absolutely delicious. Since most of us were first timers to AnQi we tried their famous Garlic Noodles and their Award Winning Tuna Tacos. The tacos were delicious and very light with a refreshing taste, they came with 3 street taco sized servings and made perfect appetizers. The garlic noodles look simple but the taste just surprises you with the garlic and butter.
The most memorable entree for me would be the Filet Mignon Salt Block Steak. A little pricey but worth every penny! The Filet Mignon was cooked at a perfect medium rare and the flavor from the season did not overwhelm the quality of the cut. The mash potatoes that it came with were the best mashed potatoes I've ever had.
The desserts were amazing! Sadly they ran out of liquid nitrogen for our table side ice cream, but we were quickly accommodated without even mentioning a thing to them. The service was amazing and food was delicious. Will definitely come back.
Ambiance was fine. Food is unbelievably overpriced for the quality. Side of string beans tasted like soggy wood chips soaked in soy sauce. Lobster dumplings tasted like fake crab meat. Filet mignon potstickers had a strange, tough texture. Calamari was pretty good. Both steak entrees were also great. Server wasn’t rude but not very friendly either. Not going back there.
Food was good but small portions for the price. Even tho we had a reservation we were seated in the louder section of the restaurant despite the fact that I indicated in open table that it was my wife’s bday.
