We have always enjoyed the food, Ambiance and service at Anqi each time we are there! Would recommend it to anyone!
Great food and service. We will definitely return. Thanks.
Great dinner the other night, excellent service, food was delicious! Not crazy expensive.
They had a live singer on Saturday night. He was okay. His song selections were a little random and kinda ruins the mood.
Amazing food, cocktails and service. Place was dead for a Friday night but that didn't matter. Will definitely return again.
One of my favorite spots. Please, however, dim the lights a bit in the front room. It feels like you are in the mall.
Service and food choices great from our server. Yummy!!!
Came for a birthday dinner. Food was great. Service was alright. Overall we had a good time.
We loved An Qi. The food was creative. It was of course Asian but the way they presented it and prepared was somewhat different than you would expect from an Asian restaurant. It was also very tasty. We thoroughly enjoyed their entertainment who was a DJ who also sang the songs. Truly worth the price paid.
Everyone loved the garlic noodle. Very nice staff and great service. Great place to hang out with friends!
They always seem to mess up on orders especially when ordering multiple of the same items, ALWAYS happens so check your orders
The staff was not friendly or polite until we were seated with our waitress. The hostess and bar tender could not be bothered with us. While the food is great (the tableside ice cream is a must!) the service was poor.
Fantastic ambiance, unparalleled and phenomenal service from Ana, and exceptional food!
Fabulous! Every dish was delicious and the service is sensational.
A standout full service restaurant in South Coast Plaza. Perfect for a tasty lunch or dinner experience. New item this time was the Tempura vegetable appetizer. Light as air! Favorite longtime app is the Chicken dumpling with balsamic fig glaze. So good!
My only complaint is about the salads. Too many weeds, as a friend said! Frisee is the main ingredient, and not only is it a mess to eat, the flavor overrode the rest of the dish. Even the arugula.
There are new things on the menu regularly, so we continue go back to enjoy faves and try new things.
We had dinner for 4 on Christmas Eve. Overall, the food was excellent. We started off with tuna tacos (excellent), truffle sashimi (excellent) but needed a spoon to get every last piece of caviar, filet pot stickers (excellent), and Pork belly Bao Buns (excellent). We ordered an extra piece of each starter to ensure that everyone had one. For the main course we had a full lobster over garlic noodles (excellent), shaken beef (excellent), extra order of garlic noodles (excellent), chicken (excellent very tender), and a side of green beans (excellent). To finish, we had table made ice cream over a chocolate chip cookie (a bit of a gimmick and not up to the standard of the other items). Everyone in our party, including two foodies from SF, thought the meal was excellent. However, the portion size for the price was not very good. We did not walk away stuffed despite ordering what we thought was going to be a feast. We did walk away with a disproportionally lighter wallet. Overall the service was great but nobody came around to refill water glasses. The ambiance was, at best, ok and diminished by having Christmas carolers roaming the restaurant in Victorian costumes. Odd for an Asian restaurant, but it was Christmas Eve.
Drinks took 20 minutes. And overall Service was very very slow..
Wonderful atmosphere and even better food and service
We were there for my sister’s birthday and it was wonderful! Love The ambiance and service were phenomenal. The food was good too but just small servings. We ordered the side table nitrogen ice cream for my sister’s birthday dessert and they served it with a sparkling candle and it was just absolutely fabulous!
Good food and good service......just pricey for what you get!
Creative fusion food in an upscale setting. Attentive service by an attractive staff. You’d think you were in a happening neighborhood rather than a (admittantly top tier) mall. Fun music at Christmas time.
We did not receive our birthday cake! I specifically reserved for our birthday and left a note on my reservation.
We can always count on an excellent meal here. The service is attentive and polite. The food is always delicious. I highly recommend.
It was a little cramped where we were seated and hard for server to get by
Food was good but garlic noodles over cooked compared to other times.
Food is ok at best. Service is HORRIBLE. Have given it several chances but will NEVER go back again.
I was really disappointed in service and food at AnQi this past Saturday night. I had just hosted a cocktail event there for a party of 20 a couple weeks before, and then took a friend there earlier this week for a birthday lunch, and all before was great. So I decided to bring my mother for dinner Saturday. I put all requests in the original reservation for seating location and birthday dessert. I called the restaurant 2 hours before arrival to reconfirm and was told I can't get seating where I requested because it was allocated to another party...which was fine, I understood. We arrived at 630P for our reservation of 6 and had to wait 20+ minutes to be seated - the hostesses all look lost and scrambling to find seating for people. I figured it was the holiday and I cut them some slack. Our waitress was nice enough, but my husband ordered a 2013 bottle of red and we received a 2016 bottle. For some reason, he didn't even mention this until we got in the car. We ordered: truffle sashimi, popcorn chicken, sprouts, shaking beef, kim chi fried rice, garlic noodles. Truffle sashimi and sprouts were really good, garlic noodles were okay, shaking beef was okay, and kim chi fried rice was just terrible (frozen shrimp used, a bunch of peas, and the egg ontop was just not fresh). So then the birthday dessert mess. #1 - I requested in writing and by calling that we wanted the liquid nitrogen "special effect" with the dessert. #2 - when we arrived, the restaurant did this for a birthday couple in the restaurant. #3 - the party next to us had a child's birthday and the restaurant did not do this - just a candle and dessert. #4 - when they brought out the dessert for my mom, it was just the scoop of ice cream and fried banana with a candle. I had to ask for the liquid nitrogen and waiter (who was not our waitress) then berudgingly went and did it. For $100 a person, AnQi really needs to up the service standards. I guess if you go weekdays, better luck than weekends.
Excellent service by wait staff, price on the high side so only customers able to afford can take advantage of your cuisine; parking a challenge because of location
Good bar, good food, good service, kinda empty for a Thursday. Weird vibe! It was a 7:30 reservation, could that have been the reason for it being empty during the Christmas holiday?
I'll never eat there again. The service was bad, they couldn't get the drinks right and it was overpriced! it has lost its cachet and is no longer a 5 star restaurant
This is a wonderful restaurant! From the General Manager, Christopher Han who makes everything special and run extremely smoothly to the servers who are so genial and friendly to the chef (s) who make the most wonderful tasty delicious exotic food. We enjoyed every moment there and every bite taken. We felt very special and important while there, that's how the staff made us feel. We highly recommend this for a special event or a nite out for dinner on any occasion......even just to eat!
Food was extremely good!!! A little bit pricey but you get what you paid for so it is worth it!
The service and food were both outstanding. We look forward to our next visit here.
Going to a play
This was our first experience at AnQi! It could not have been better! The restaurant is beautiful and the food was absolutely delicious. We can’t say enough about our server Adam! He was attentive and, friendly and took great care of us. We had a particularly stressful day with the rainstorms and he knew just how to help us relax and enjoy our dinner! Thank you so much! We will return!
Made a reservation through Opentable for bar seating. Hostess said they were not honoring opentable bar seating reservations and I should would wait to seat myself in an hour or two. I understand it is an imperfect system but the inconvenience should never be accentuated by an extremely rude host.
Our family loves to go here for our annual christmas shopping experience . This year we went back again to try the noodle bar for lunch. It was also excellent . We all love the famous garlic noodles . But everything on the menu is delicious . It can be pricey . The cocktails are also good .
We went for my husbands birthday. He LOVED it! His favorite by far was the Garlic Noodles.
We had great service and even greater food. The decor was festive and overall we had a very special evening.
