First, host was wonderful. After he sat us, it all went downhill. The service was outright horrible. The food was mediocre. With all of the restaurants in NOLA, I would NOt go back here.
The food was superb, the best gumbo in the city and the Veal Annunciation was excellent. Only wish I had room for dessert.
Service was top notch! Server recommended an amazing bottle of red. Had Stuffed Eggplant and dining partner had the Drum. Really large portions and overall great experience. Will be back!
My wife and I had an amazing time.
The Veal Annuciation was amazing in quality as well as quantity. Waiter was more than helpful. Definitely going back soon
Our 53 rd anniversary. There were 2 tables occupied. Slow night. My wife's duck and brother's drum were excellent. My steak not so much undercooked and less than tender. Waiter was attentive yet not overboard.
Had a wonderful dinner at Annunciation this past Sunday, the staff was very welcoming and friendly assuring that all of us had a great experience. Our waiter carefully explained the menus items and each of our guests were very pleased with their choices. The seafood dishes were all prepared fresh high quality ingredients. I highly recommend Annunciation for your dining needs in a quite neighborhood between the convention center and the WWII museum.
Overall great experience and the gumbo was particularly good! I was with friends but could tell this would be a great date night spot. Specialty cocktails were a hit with the party too!
It took 2 hours to get our food. When I complained they took $20 off of our $350 bill.
The food came out very slowly and half of it was mediocre, while the other half was just bad. It was a very expensive and unenjoyable meal and I would not return.
The food was awesome and our waiter, Rene, was not only attentive, but funny! The cocktails were terrific (and different) and the food was more than what any Louisianian would want to eat! The only negative was the Maitre D's presence. He greeted us very blandly and looked as though he would have rather been anywhere but there. It's a shame, because he is the face of the restaurant, and the first representative of how the restaurant will be. He didn't ruin our good time, though, and we had a chuckle at his "sour" face.
The food was the best I had in NOLA! Everyone was very kind and the atmosphere was perfect for our group to be able to catch up and have great food. The service was a bit slow and the restaurant was very empty, so that was confusing. But overall AMAZING!
Food was delicious and the service was impeccable!
Pretty good. Had a fairly big oyster shell in my fried oyster which hurt my tooth and my wife’s fish was VERY small (Pompano). My entree was really good (fish of the day w kale/potato’s). Cool looking place
Loved our dining experience at Annunciation - food was delicious and the service was great (Thanks, Larry!). Parking was tricky, however, so leave time to get settled. Nice beverages, too. Each of the 4 of us ordered something different and all flavors were good. Two dishes were not as expected - shrimp linguini was in a red sauce not a white sauce and duck was a full half of duck and medium, not medium rare as duck breast usually is. All portions were generous. Our waiter was wonderful. Next visit, we'll read the descriptions more closely and ask a few more questions about preparations. Definitely will be a next time - recommend to all.
Our server Rene was informative and attentive. We had the fried chicken and dumplings appetizer and it was outstanding! Entrees were the pork shoulder for him and chicken for me. Both were delicious. For dessert the Banana pudding creme brûlée. We couldn’t believe this place doesn’t get more Hype, it was easily one of the best meals we’ve had this year!!!!!
The food was great, service was fantastic if you choose to visit ask to sit in Alan's section he's wonderful!
We were greeted as soon as we arrived a little early but thunderstorm was beginning so we were allowed to enter early. Host was fabulous and got our waiter immediately. We were greeted and seated by our waiter. He asked if we were celebrating anything and when told it was my birthday, he made sure to make me feel special. Answered all our questions about our cocktails and the menu. Offering suggestions when asked. We chose the Coolinary menu and were not disappointed. Amazing food and service. Thank you for making my birthday a great celebration. And, thank you for the Lil extra of champagne to toast my double nickel celebration!
We got lots of appetizers and assorted cocktails. Everything was prepared well and the service was good. Solid meal, but nothing over-the-top amazing.
Some in our party were annoyed with the waiter. He was brash and somewhat rude.
Great food with great service! Totally enjoyed the ambience.
Food was delicious. Our server was very attentive and accommodating.
The service and the food was excellent. The decor and ambiance is very welcoming and comfortable. Love this place.
Food was great and the service was friendly. Get the baked oysters!
Food was delicious. Service was excellent. I will definitely be returning.
Went for Coolinary. The seafood salad and soft shell crab pasta were excellent. The gumbo was average and chicken dish was just ok. Pecon pie was great.
Renee, our waiter, was amazing!
We dine there occasionally, one of our favorite restaurants in the warehouse district. Its a little out of the way, right before you get to the expressway on Annunciation. But the food is great. The seafood gumbo is probably the best we've had in NOLA. We had the soft shell crab with pasta this time -- after the gumbo. Very good.
Renee was a great server. Menu was good. We preferred the chicken & dumplings, pan seared gulf fish and trout almandine.
The vegetable primavera was bland ( for our vegetarian guests). The pecan pie was good but not a traditional recipe. More like a moist pecan bread consistency on a crust.
Food and cocktails were outstanding! Highly recommend the Drum and Bananas Foster Bread Pudding for dessert.
Excellent! First time there and was very, very good. Had gumbo, fried eggplant, trout, and drum. All were very good dishes. Great portions. Highly recommended.
Food was delicious and service was spot on. Highly recommend!
In town for a meeting and this restaurant was close by. Food was amazing and our server was super personable! Def will be back on our next visit to New Orleans! Thanks Annunciation!
Staff was friendly. Food was well prepared and our waiter was fun and entertaining, as well as giving timely service!! Highly recommend this restaurant!!
Food was good, we opted for the Coolinary Menu. The only problem we had was that there were 2 rats in the restaurants.
The food & drinks were great! Our water was snobbish. & borderline rude! The two large Rats that ran across my friend’s foot & disturbed the Restaurant was Horrible. The lack of Empathy from the personnel was disturbing as well.
We arrived on time for a 7 PM weeknight dinner reservation. We had a glass of wine and ordered an appetizer and main course. Our waiter had a surly attitude. We also ordered a bottle of wine to go with dinner.
The appetizer was served by 7:30. We had fried green tomatoes with boiled shrimp and shrimp salad remoulade. Both were tasty. The main course was not served until after 8:30. We both had pan sauteed drum with brabant potatoes and vegetables. The fish was so overcooked it had to be cut with a knife. The rest was average but OK. We finished what we wanted and left.
So, we had a surly waiter, slow service, and our main course was overcooked. It cost over $200. We won't be going back.
Everything was great! Best food and service in the NOLA!!!
Lovely Boutique Restaurant. Food was Great and the Service on par. I has the Seafood Stuffed Eggplant. Amazing!!
Exposed early20th century brick walls, yet you can plug in your smart phone on the other wall. Ordered baked oysters, yum, boudin sausage covers the oyster on the shell , all that "goodness liquid" melts and cooks the oys. Duck & Trout Amandine, very New Orleans! Definite will be back, with more people, hidden gem !
We live in Algeries. It only takes a few minutes to get the restaurant. Parking is always easy
Alan was our waiter He is very knowledgeable about food and the menu
Everything was great, Gumbo, oysters, fried green tomatoes all with a true taste of New Orleans. I had the duck with a raspberry glaze it was perfect a savory dish. (Lots of duck meat). My wife had the drum Yvonne with crab meat on top.
Then New Orleans coffee lemon icebox pie and Mango Sorbet
We will be back
