Annunciation Restaurant is the ideal spot for celebrating a special occasion, entertaining a group of important clients, or just looking to unwind after a hectic day at work with skillfully crafted cocktails, fine wines and an assortment of classic and contemporary Cajun and Creole dishes. Creative dishes include crispy oysters with spinach and brie; sweetbreads with grits and marsala; Veal Annunciation with House made pasta with alfredo. This was our first time at Annunciation. The restaurant seemed rather small at first until we noticed they were sitting people in another room. The food was very good and did not cost too much. We will definitely go again.
I always have a wonderful experience when dining at Annunciation. The food was amazing and the service was outstanding. G is the best!!
Sam was an excellent waiter!! Food was delicious
Excellent experience! Ate upstairs. Socially distanced tables. Good covid measures.
One of my favorites! Staff is always so welcoming and food is great and portions plentiful. A must try!
During this “new norm” of Covid19, Annunciation did a great job of following CDC guidelines for social distancing, while maintaining the ambiance. The food and service were great, as always! I highly recommend. Our server, Rene, was very attentive to us 👍
Great service. Food was just ok- especially for New Orleans. My husband enjoyed his soft shell crab otherwise unremarkable.
The food is amazing, you can really tell the chef is talented and put his or hers’ on spin on New Orleans favorites. Never had oyster Rockefeller the way I had it here. 10/10
My meal was very salty and we waited two hours for our entrees. Also it was the most sad tirimisu I’ve ever had (I’ve made it once before and I would pay so much more for mine than the annunciation tirimisu - and let me tell ya, I am not known for my skills in the kitchen). The manager also promised a gumbo and dessert on the house and did not follow up on his promise. I also tend to be chatty with restaurant staff and tried to strike up conversation over his Tulane mask (We both had masters degrees from Tulane) and he was very quick to offer the elusive gumbo and dessert and disappear. I think there were some issues in the kitchen that night. The table next to us complained (a lot) and got a few rounds of free drinks so I guess that’s my insider tip to you all!!
Our dining experience was long. We had to wait an hour to get our entrees.
Great meal with the exception of the potatoes under my lamb chops being room temperature. Allen was great.
Went for Coolinary but ended up ordering off the regular menu. Everything we had was fantastic! Highly recommend the Trout and chicken dumpling appetizer.
Food was cold and not what was listed on the menu as far as the sides. Server was short with us and very pushy.
Outstanding lamb chops & crabmeat sardou, tiramisu, creme brûlée & oysters with Brie.
Annunciation wasn’t my favorite but it also wasn’t the worst. I can’t say I’d go back or that I’d recommend it. I thought the menu looked a lot better than how the food tasted. I wasn’t impressed. The ambiance was nice but that was about all I cared for.
The staff was friendly and attentive. Coolinary menu was a great value and the food was good.
One of the busier restaurants I’ve been too since Covid regulations in place but looked like all protocols were being followed. My stuffed eggplant was amazing. We will def be back!
Awesome three course meal. Valuable
Very much enjoyed the Coolinary! Server couldn’t have been friendlier either. Overall great night and we will be back!
This is my favorite restaurant in the city. We have always had a very good meal here. The service3 is attentive and the atmosphere is sophisticated but relaxed.
An absolutely fabulous restaurant! Wonderful dining experience and the food was delicious start to finish! Highly recommended!
One of our favorite places to grab a bite. Gumbo is outstanding!
Great neighborhood spot. Very comfortable accommodations with attentive service. Interesting cocktails too!
Great experience, just like always,Coolinary was excellent!
We started with the beet salad and it just got better from there! Gulf fish was perfectly seasoned and don’t skip dessert. Banana Foster bread pudding was AMAZING! Service was friendly and attentive.
Axed on our first visit experience we will definitely be back. We've already recommended to others to try.
Absolutely inedible food. I had to send back 2 entrees. The service was even worse than the food which I cannot even imagine possible. If you order a piece of fish with hollandaise sauce and then you add bechamel to the sauce then put it on the menu. It was absolutely disgusting. If you’re going to serve a whole fish then you need to specify on the menu as well. This is restaurant 101. The manager never came to our table. Out of the eight tables that were seated we saw the hostess approach and discuss the meals served with at least a half of those tables. Please don’t waste time and money because your night has a 100% chance of being left in tatters. If you were not ready to re-open during Covid you should’ve stayed closed. I would advise closing. Based on our experience consider permanently. Gross and disgusting.
Rene' was a great server! He took time to get to know us and go the extra mile in making sure we had everything we wanted. The Coolinary menu is excellent and so are their daily specials.
Excellent value for Coolinary menu. Reservations are a must since limited seating at this time.
Stop into to get a quick bite. The service was impeccable. Everyone was very friendly and seemed to be following all COVID regulations. There was a three course special menu very reasonably priced but I opted for the Drum Yvonne which was phenomenal! The cocktails were also really good. I would definitely recommend!
Fantastic night out with friends! Get the chicken and dumpling appetizer. You won’t be disappointed!
Very great dining experience during covid pandemic. First time there and definitely will return.
Tables far apart. Staff and guest wearing masks.
Carlos our waiter was awesome. We tried the coolinary menu as well as regular menu options paired with a bottle of wine. The lamb chops were to die for.
Ordered the Coolinary menu.
Lamb was very salty. The mash potatoes tasted like purée garlic and was very spicy.
Order salmon as medium well, it was actually very rare all through the middle.
Unhappy with the main entrees. Desert was very good! Maybe I will order from the regular menu next time.
Brought our daughter and four of her friends to celebrate her birthday. Food was outstanding and the service and accommodations went beyond our expectations. 16 year olds can be picky but everyone found something they enjoyed. I still think the soft shell crab is the best in the city.
We enjoyed the Coolinary menu but will surely be back to order from the regular menu. The food was delicious, the service was great and the laid back atmosphere just what we needed. Thanks for a great evening!
Food and service were superb. We alerted the restaurant that one couple was celebrating their anniversary. Some cute based flowers were brought over with congratulatory wishes. We ordered from the menu in lieu of the coolinary menu. There is a nice selection for any taste. Food presentation was A+. Highly recommended.
Awful. Absolutely awful. The service was rude, the food was horrible and there was no ambiance. I’m so disappointed in the positive reviews on here, which led me astray today when i was booking, that I’m logging on to say don’t do it. If you look on yelp this place only has 3 stars... in a town full of 4 and 5 star wonderful restaurants, don’t waste your money here.
Food was fantastic; service (Rene) was perfect. Suggest a Pim Annunciation cocktail before dinner. You won’t be sorry.
It was great!
Very accommodating, upscale restaurant. Our food was fantastic.
