About
Great but, Bittersweet. Last meal at Annissa! Hope to taste Anita Li again sometime/somewhere in the future!
Excellent food and service in an ambience where you can actually hear each other talk!
Everything was wonderful. Great food and great service.
Sad to see this place close!
Will miss this place fondly.
As always, spectacular food and wine. We are all sad to lose the brilliant food and lovely ambience when Annisa closes. But we look forward to her next adventure!
WONDERFUL (as always) - don't miss out on the Foie Gras soup dumplings!! Save room for dessert, especially the posset or chocolate mini assortment!
I am so happy to have tried Annisa, but wish I'd done so sooner so that I'd have time to go back. It's closing at the end of this month and it will be a loss to NYC fine cuisine. We had outstanding service and very special food.
Absolutely wonderful
Vegetarians beware! We had a fantastic time. A lot of the dishes were meat-heavy, accompanied by a few twigs of greens, if that. Our table participated in the tasting menu. It started out with small portions but we were very full by the end of the night. The flavorings were uber rich, perhaps on the salty side. I enjoyed every dish, from amuse bouche to post-dessert plate. Lovely warm service, and cozy, comfortable ambience. The establishment is conveniently located in Greenwich Village.
The food is very innovative, but verges on precious. Portions are small and expensive.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, simple decor, fantastic jazzy blues music. We were blown away by the food. Great wine & cocktail list as well.
The staff couldn't have been nicer. The service was great. The food was good but not as good as it was the last time we dined. The appetizer and main course was much more salty than normal - but not over the line - close but not over. The dessert was so tasty in spite of the fact that both desserts (bread pudding and beignets) were overdone. That being said our time was very enjoyable.
Returned to Annisa with family to experience this delicious and differentiated restaurant one more time prior to closing. Food was interesting as always - some dishes better than others (I felt a bit over salted). Dessert yum. Service was mixed - sadly, our server was so deadpan and not particularly gracious (e.g. did not ask if we wanted a drink as is customary...I had to bring this up in order for it to be asked). The wine steward was quite nice. I get it - everybody at Annisa must be sad as the restaurant is closing...but it took away from my enjoyment, which is a shame. May try it again prior to closing but if not, au revoir.
Superb food, pleasant service, quiet --great for conversation but the room is tired. Time for a nip/tuck.
Service was extremely slow. Took an hour for two appetizer. Everything was on the salty side.
My wife and I moved to the West Village just 10 days before September 11, 2001. Annisa has been our favorite neighborhood place to dine for the past 16 years and we enjoyed our last or perhaps next to last dinner there last evening. Sadly Annisa will be closing at the end of the month. The loss to the Village and the rest of the city will be substantial, but hopefully chef Anita Lo will reopen another restaurant in the not too distant future. Over the years were have been warmly greeted by Jennifer, then Gregory and now Michael and we will miss all of them. Chef Lo is not only an amazing and creative chef, but she is a wonderful warm person with a great sense of humor. All of the food that she serves at Annisa is serious and beautifully presented. The entire staff of waiters and much more will hopefully find new employment quickly. My wife and I will miss everyone at Annisa as well as all of the amazing dinners that we have enjoyed there over the years.
Had the five course tasting menu. May have been the best soup dumplings and lemon curd bread pudding I have ever eaten. Took away a little because one of the servers was deadpan and didn't give us all the information regarding the dishes she brought out. Also, the pork belly was too one note. It wasn't crispy. Just fatty.
Great restaurant. Sorry you are closing. Hope you re-open.
Too bad it's closing in May. Food is delicious.
Staff was attentive & knowledgable
This was my third visit to Annisa. I don't eat out often so when I do, I prefer to have dinner at restaurants where I know the overall experience will be excellent. The food and service are amazing and I love that I can actually have a conversation with a friend without having to shout across the table at her. That's rare in NY.
This was our farewell dinner at Annisa, since it is closing next month. The food and service,as per usual, was divine but the prices have doubled!! We each had a drink and the seven course tasting menu. It set us back $375! The chef/owner said she decided to close when clients stopped coming in after she changed her pricing to incorporate tips, and property taxes went through the roof. Sadly Anita didn't change her new pricing model. I also felt that at these prices, the cashier should have been wearing a suit and tie instead of chinos and an oxford collared shirt. This has always been a very special place for us. We are sorry to see this establishment go.
The cocktails, apps, entrees, wine, ambiance, and service were top notch as always. This has long been my favorite restaurant. I'm glad I was able to get in before they close. I'm so sad to see them go.
Truly a special restaurant and chef, I will be sad to see it go!
Dinner was amazing and we loved the environment. I am so sorry that Annisa will be closing as I would definitely go back for another occasion. I will look forward to what Anita Lo does next.
A fabulous restaurant. Wonderful food full of surprising flavors in a comfortable room in which you can talk and hear your table companions without effort. We are so sad it is closing....
Profoundly great cooking. Chief with well deserved world class reputation.
Delicious and imaginative dishes, impeccable service and subtle decor.
The tasting menu was chef's choice and wonderful. We intend to dine there again before their closing.
What a shame that after 17 years Annisa is closing. A truly special dining in every way. Let's hope that after some time off, NYC will again be blessed with Anita Lo's specialness.
We are heartbroken that Annisa is closing soon, and had to get in for one last meal. Everything was impeccable as always. Anita Lo & staff: thank you for providing such a gem to the neighborhood and NYC food scene for so many years. You will be missed!
High prices (even with service included) and small portions, not a good combination.
Creative, delicious and unique! Highly recommend. The best dish I had was the soup dumpling and fois gras - simply delish!
Our favorite restaurant. We are very, very sorry it's closing. We have such wonderful memories eating here, and this final meal was superb, maybe the best yet.
Wonderful restaurant in every respect -- food, ambience, service. You're made to feel welcome and warmly taken care of without being fawned over. The food is extraordinary.
Inventive and precisely prepared food and a comfortable, laid back, small restaurant ambience. Best quality/ price ratio among the top flight NYC restaurants
Absolutely wonderful experience. We had a cocktail to start and it was beautifully made. We then had the 7 course tasting menu and matched wines. Every dish was delicious and the wines chosen worked perfectly. Lovely service, the servers were friendly and explained each dish clearly and concisely. We really loved everything about our dinner!
Had a wonderful time, yet again. I'll be sad to see this play close.
It was my dad's birthday. It's his favorite restaurant in NYC and he's sad that it'll close soon.
The restaurant has a good atmosphere, you can hear yourselves speak and the dining room is nicely decorated. Unfortunately however, the service whilst polite and friendly, was so,so slow. We waited over 90 minutes before our main course was served, and it had to be chased by us. And to be frank, the food wasn't worth waiting for.. Each of our seven friends remarked that their meal was not all that good and certainly our evening was not worth the $1000 bill... Sorry, can maybe see why you will be closing down...
