Anis Cafe and Bistro
The menu is deeply rooted in the ingredients and aromas that give dishes from the French Mediterranean region their unique flavors.
Anis is comprised of an inside dining room and an outside patio area that is available for seating year round, and a charming little bar where you may enjoy a meal if you wish.
Widely known as one of the most romantic dining spots in the city, Anis is a great place to meet up with friends and can cater to large parties with ease.
Reservations are accepted and encouraged.
Join us for live Brazilian jazz on Thursday evenings.
Favorite restaurant in Atlanta! Terrific service and always delicious food-
We have always enjoyed Anis. This time our sides with our entrees were cold, tasteless and small in quantity. . My wife’s had the swordfish special that was overcooked and dry.
Wonderful food and great service.
Service was very slow. We had to actively seek out our server to place our order, for drink refills and for the check. I found it odd since the restaurant wasn’t very busy. The food was above average, but a little pricey for the value.
The Food was excellent and the wait staff made sure are time was perfect
We have dined at Anis many times and have never been disappointed. My wife and I shared mussels to start, then both had the duck breast special which was outstanding. That couples with a nice bottle of Vacqueyras made the dinner special. We dined outside, but the outdoor dining area is perfectly heated and was full of comfortable diners.
Escargots disappointing smothered in sauce. Halibut was dry. Table was wobbly. Bill was high.
I ordered coquille st. jacques and it was not the traditional that I expected--scallops in a creamy wine sauce. The scallops were served without sauce on top of a couple of mushrooms.
There are many restaurants in Atlanta, but Anis is by far my favorite.
We were a table of seven, celebrating a friend's 94th birthday. Every one of us felt that our total experience (and every detail of it) was truly outstanding. The Sunday Brunch menu was extensive but not expensive. Of course, all of the food was interesting and delicious. The "big surprise" was how perfect the service was— thoroughly attentive without being at all intrusive, always (and in all ways) kind and helpful even for some quirky requests (e.g., an order of soup "to share"; serving the birthday cake that a guest brought... with no extra charge!) Anis Cafe & Bistro is comfortably awesome!
Celebrating 30th birthday with friends. Amazing service. Even better food.
Lovely place to enjoy a good lunch. Ambience is great!
Always excellent food and the waiter treated us very well!
If you’re looking for an authentic and delicious French meal in a cozy bistro atmosphere, this is it! The ambiance is intimate but the lively and artistic decor keeps it from being boring or stale. Don’t let the casual vibe fool you...the service and food are stellar. The servers are attentive, not cloying. The menu offers everything you could ever want from French fare and the wine menu more than adequate. As stated, the food is certainly top-notch, no fussiness here. The trout was literally the best trout dish I’ve ever had! My parents have been regulars for years, and now I will be as well!
They were generous to provide a complimentary dessert sampler. Thanks.
I had a lovely brunch with a friend at Anis. The food was delicious and the service was excellent! Iy was not noisy inside which made it extra special!
Excellent food, great service, and great atmosphere off the beaten path in Buckhead.
Anis is such a lovely experience, the welcome, the servers, marvelous cocktails, I had a manhattan and my companion had a martini (Cheers indeed), dinner of salmon over roquefort risotto was unique and delicious. Our waiter explained everything ...who ever heard of laughing bird shrimp? Now, we know. The wine was superb and dessert of gateau de chocolate was as good as any I've had in Atlanta. There was one slight annoyance, we were crowded into a tiny 2 top even though there were 4 tops available. Too bad they were not more accommodating in our request for more room. Still, and over all Anis gets 5 stars from me!
Still the best neighborhood "default" restaurant for lunch meetings. Warm, welcoming, friendly....and an easy menu. Nothing fancy or over the top - just good, flavorful, and appealing.
We went for an amazing anniversary lunch and everything was amazing! A truly memorable anniversary! Albert and the entire team provided excellent service. The food was absolutely divine and they truly spoiled us. Thank you to the entire team for making our 21st anniversary truly a special day!
Always a go to when entertaining out of town business associates. The ambiance is good for conversation and the food and service is consistent. This last visit, there was live music and we thoroughly enjoyed the musician. Would definitely recommend!
Very good restaurant. Go early to avoid a very high noise level -- particularly in the brick floored downstairs seating area.
Waiter was prompt but not friendly at all.
I expected a lot more options like I saw online but I think only the brunch menu was offered. The food was good but I would prefer the full menu or at least lunch menu.
ALI our waiter was wonderful !
Anis is and will always be my favorite place to go for delicious food and ambiance.
I wasn't crazy about the escargot. It was prepared in an unfamiliar manner . Everything we all ordered was wonderful. Short ribs, Trout, Ahi Tuna, and scallops.
Thank you for another great meal!
Disappointing. Was highly recommended but did not deliver. As soon as I told the waitress my allergies she acted as if it was a burden to serve us the rest of the evening. And even when I was specific about dairy for example, she still brought the calamari with a mayo dip instead of an alternative (they don't have marinara btw), & all the olive oil in the world couldn't give flavor to that calamari - so bland. Also I ordered a side of asparagus which was never brought/forgotten. My salmon was wayyy too salty but I was starving. And they supposedly have live music Thursday nights but we didn't hear a peep until we left around 830? Soooo that sucked, we were looking forward to enjoying that at the very least. Overall, I see no reason to revisit this place.
Everyday and special occasions. This is just a cool place. Super food and lovely ambience
We love Anis. The last three visits we had to wait awhile before our server came to greet us and take our drinks order. Hoping this will not be the new norm. Please!
As always Anis serves fresh, delicious food by a helpful wait staff. The cocktails are refreshing as well.
Great place! Great food! Doesn’t disappoint, ever!
It was the best experience either one of us has ever had on any occasion. The food was exceptional, the service was amazing and the owner treated us like we were royalty! Amazing day and we will come back often as loyal customers.
Vibrant restaurant with a neighborhood feel. Very attentive and knowledgeable service. Flavorful food with attention to presentation.
Anis remains one of my favorite places to dine in Atlanta. I have never had bad food, drinks, service or ambience there. It’s consistency in these areas coupled with its quaint French flare and the live music on the patio make it a truly enjoyable epicurean experience.
Always fabulous!! The special was Halibut over lobster and Mushroom Risotto!
We enjoyed our lunch very much. Food was delicious, service was attentive, prices were good.
Always a great meal, and I have been eating here for more than 20 years. I am never disappointed.
Anis is one of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta. I love dining on the patio.
Our server was horrible, extremely rude, not customer service oriented at all. In spite of the fact that we love the restaurant as it is so charming, it is not charming enough to compensate for the extremely poor and rude service from our wait person.
