Angelo's Wine Bar
Chef Samuel Leal's menu features fresh, seasonal ingredients procured from around the world. Taking his cues from family, past experiences, and the tastes of the local neighborhood, he reaches beyond our traditional Italian-American concept. Chef constantly delivers surprises that include flavors from Asia, Latin-America, the wider Mediterranean, and even into the heartland of Midwest America.
Leal's menu aligns with the international focus of the restaurant's wine program, curated by House Sommelier, Gigi Bredoux. The extensive bottled wine lists focuses on small production wines from boutique vineyards from around the world. Thirty wines are offered by the glass, including six poured from the barrel.

Everything was delicious and Gigi was an amazing server!
Several menu items were 86’d, so that was a little disappointing. The items we ended up with were great however. Service was outstanding-Gigi was totally knowledgeable with food and wine.
Live music was a plus…the band was fabulous!
Great food and live music!
Staffing is short like all places, but we are very understanding of that. Really hope people come back to work. This great "find" needs the help! Food, wine, and atmosphere is hard to beat! Love to see Megan's happy face every time we go. Chris was our waiter and he was working his butt off, but always with a smile.
Shared delicious food and wine with friends on the tented back patio and really enjoyed the ambiance. A great way to gather outdoors. This place is so cute inside and the service was very good. We'll be back!
Angelo's employs professional jazz musicians whose beautiful sounds in the backround perfectly compliment the cuisine, ambience, and beverage selections
our main entree was cold... sent it back and our server promised our food would be prepared fresh instead the food was over cooked..didnt send it back because we felt we would have to wait to long
this was my first time dining for brunch.
The deviled eggs were fantastic. I like deviled eggs and these are VERY good. Some of the best Ive had in chicago. The pizzas were solid (I got the spicy Hawaiian and my husband got the mushroom). The desserts were horrendous. The cannoli was soggy and the cake was dry. Not worth the calories. Would def go back again but skip dessert.
Fun ambiance & delish food! Servers were great and accommodating with getting us off the patio when an unexpected downpour hit!
The ambience is nice for a hang out spot and the food is tasty. I would come back again.
Very nice Brunch. Sat outside in the sidewalk seating on a perfect day!
good food and service - a little loud on the patio,
Neighborhood gem! Food is outstanding and the menu & drink menu are great for everyone.
Appreciated the excellent wine recommendation, made the meal and our night extra special.
Disorganized at best.
Restaurant was about half full.
Food is greasy and salty
Long wait time between courses as well as with beverages.
Price/value is poor. Expensive pricing, mediocre food, slow service
Great experience a little louder than expected due to live music but was a great time!
It is a great date night spot. The watermelon salad was incredible!
We went here on a Monday for the live blues. At first, we went to the sit at the bar but it started filling up so we moved to a table. It took about 10 minutes before anyone even came to take our drink order. When the gentleman arrived (he seemed like he was the host and waiter) he was very friendly. I forget what we ordered but that took awhile as well event though the place was not that busy at all. Dining during Covid era, we have found that many restaurants are short staffed and just lacking all around. The live music was great but not sure we would go out of our way to go back to this restaurant.
I love Wednesday evenings - the music, half priced wine and always a great time.
We have loved Angelo's for years, and we had another great dinner last night. Gigi, the sommelier, took the time to recommend some incredible wines and talk in detail about them, while providing prompt and attentive service. She's always great, and last night was no exception. The bruschetta, drunken bucatini, and pizzas always deliver. I tried the shrimp pizza last night for the first time and LOVED it. They also had half price bottles of wine and live jazz last night- truly can't be beat.
I just love this place- have for years. Can't wait for more great dinners to come!
Burratta cheese caprese appetizer was fantastic
Chicken piccata delicious
Angelo's is a hidden gem! Amazing food, wine, and service! This place deserves 20 stars!
Went to Angelo’s to celebrate my birthday. First time here and no regrets. It was a great, relaxing place to have great food and drinks. Everyone enjoyed their dinner and dessert was a great way to end the night. Very chill, inviting environment and excellent service. Glad I randomly found on it on Open Table. Definitely looking forward to coming back.
Love this place!!!!
We sat outside and enjoyed wine and pasta! Loved the atmosphere! Gigi was fantastic! Will definitely be back!
I love everyone at Angelo’s! It’s my go-to spot!!
The food was delicious and service was great. I had the flights and bites which I highly recommend. They were very accommodating and let me switch one of the wines. It is a little pricey but most places in the city are. My only complaint is the temp. It was very hot outside and inside. Unfortunately it made the wines warmer than they should be. I switched to cocktails after my flight and they were delicious too. I will be going back!
Great atmosphere and the food was pretty good and drinks too.
Great neighborhood place with awesome cocktails - we will be back!!
Was very pleasant and would definitely go back and recommend it to others.
Casual setting in a local wine bar. You won't miss the game here with televisions on the wall throughout. However, it is not a sports bar when it comes to the food, the libations and the service. All three were outstanding and the atmosphere was pleasant with large open windows and a jazz duo playing in the bar.
I’ve been there so many times that I don’t even know anymore, it never disappoints!
Chis is a great waiter.
Awesome cocktails. Vintage movies (no sound) on the TV. Friendly, informed staff. Delicious food. Fun to sit at the bar to meet neighborhood regulars and chat with the bartenders. Solid neighborhood hang.
Great to dine here again as Chicago opens up! Fig and prosciutto pizza was the star! Acoustics pretty loud so, if quiet dinner is on your mind, might not be the place, but if fun, high energy, local scene is what you are looking for, none better!
The food was excellent & reasonably priced. We were seated near the bar so the noise level was a little bit high, but overall, it was most enjoyable.
Excellent and knowledgeable service. Wine suggestions were spot on. Always a good choice for a night out!
We had father’s day brunch here recently. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was friendly and fairly prompt. We will definitely be back here!
It was wonderful
