Cocktails were pretty bad (negroni & an old fashioned), service was a bit off and food was OK, not great (especially for that price point). It’s a nice space and staff were friendly, but I expected more.

Angelo's has become our go to place. They are an Italian restaurant but do other thins like steak and fish very well. The wait staff is attentive and funny as well. If you go for lunch or an early dinner it is very quiet, but go at 7 'ish on a Friday or Saturday and it is a bit noisy. They always have some specials were are just as good or sometimes even better than there standbys. An excellent wine list and good desserts too.

Angelo's is a family owned and operated restaurant. The service and atmosphere is excellent. The food is the best Italian food I have ever experienced. I have eaten at Italian restaurants in the North End of Boston for over 40 years and none are as good as Angelo's. Dining at Angelo's is a foodie's dream. If you have not dined at Angelo's I suggest you do so. I guarantee you will become a regular customer.

Oveall, 6 of 7 of us had good meals and a good time. There was one big problem, though. One of us (actually the one whose birthday it was) ordered the Carbonara –In fact, we chose this restaurant because they advertise that they make Carbonara the traditional way, with a sauce made by adding raw egg and cheese to the hot pasta –, and we were told "You're lucky Angelo is here tonight because he knows how to make it." We have to question why it's on the menu if only one person knows how to make it, but the bigger problem is tat, in retrospect, it had NO sauce on it. At the time, the person eating it thought maybe it was just a slightly different style, and as it was a party didn't pay much attention after that. But, afterwards we realized that there had been no sauce on it at all -- just a light oil. I'm sure they would have corrected it if we'd realized it while we were there, but still .. quite disappointing.

(Also, we thought the bottled wine was a little bit too expensive. We'd probably pass on it the next time if we were to return)

Chef Ryan always has consistently amazing dishes that keep me coming back to try more. It's near impossible to find Italian cuisine of this caliber anywhere else in the area. Jimmy at the bar is also very professional and gives spectacular service every time I come by. Easy 5 stars for Angelo's. Top notch!

Angelo himself should take pride in all the great Italian cuisine & wine that this little gem features. A truly authentic and inspiring experience everytime I bring someone new there. The best and worth the trip from Boston-even if you live in the North End!

This was my second visit within a month and last nightś was perfect. At first I thought they wouldn't be ready for us but the table was available---it´s a small place---service terrific (never felt rushed even though only one table turned over while there) and the food delicious. Prices are what you´d expect for a high quality restaurant. Noise level was very moderate and the three of us could talk without screaming. HIghly recommend Angelo´s.

My wife and I don't get out much since we have two young kids so I will admit to being a bit uncultured when it comes to "fine dining" but when we only ordered one drink between the two of us our waiter seemed displeased. His displeasure only increased when we declined ordering an appetizer and ultimately he seemed upset that we didn't order a dessert at the end. His attitude reeked of "you're wasting my time" whenever he came to the table. Ironically, our waiter was training someone new as well. I can only hope the new guy ends up nothing like the waiter doing the training. The food was mediocre at best. Two measly bread sticks that seemed fresh from the freezer. Their "homemade linguini" honestly looked like boxed spaghetti. It didn't even look like linguini, let alone homemade and the marinara was 50% oil/water. Trying to catch the pasta with a fork was like going fishing. Overall, a very disappointing night out when we try to make the best of the rare opportunities we get away from the kids.

My wife, my daughters and their guys had dinner before a holiday show at the Stoneham Theatre. We shared two appetizers that included Angelo’s own mozzarella. Both were delicious. We had a variety of entrees that covered the gamut from pasta-only to those that included fish and beef. The fresh pasta was outstanding. Everyone was very happy with their choice. Our server, Dottie, was absolutely outstanding.

Two notes:

Everything is made to order so do not go to Angelo’s Ristorante if you’re in a hurry. We allowed two hours and - with Dottie’s help - that allowed us to make the show (without coffee or dessert).

Parking is a challenge. I ended up on a side street a short walk away.

We’ll definitely be going back.

Angelo's is one of our favorite Spots for authentic, fantastic Italien cuisine. Their menu is excellent, and they have extensive specials consistent with the season. The atmosphere and people are great. We had antipasto and a caprese salad, followed by outstanding entrees. The osso bucco was divine, house made fettuccine with black pepper beef in a brandy cream sauce was unique and absolutely delicious. Every meal we have ever had here has been fabulous. They also have a great takeout business, so some may not realize the beautiful restaurant occupies the other half of the building. Classic white tablecloths and unparalleled food and service. A must try!!

Worst experience I have had and will not go back. Been there 10 times and getting worse. After almost 3 hours dinner was never served and was tired of waitress apologizing. No manager to speak to and owner was in kitchen cooking and couldn't be bothered. Food is not that good to go through this.
