Everything was great.
Wonderful as per usual. Food was awesome and very generous portion sizes.
first class from the moment we were greeted by the valet. We went on a fairly busy Saturday night for an anniversary dinner. We were early and our table was ready. Everyone was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Extremely long and extensive wine list. Very tasty home baked rosemary infused bread. Between the 2 of us, we ordered 2 glasses of wine, 2 cocktails, we split a shrimp cocktail (4 huge shrimp in a potent cocktail sauce), date had 14 oz NY strip and 2 oz of kobe beef, I had the pinot noir lacquered sea bass served over fingerling potatoes, asparagus tip and fava bean sautée, lobster creamed leeks, pinot noir reduction; we split 3 sides - roasted Brussel sprouts, lobster mashed and a special of the night "mac and cheese waffle" which was the only thing we didn't enjoy that evening. Everything else was outstanding! We finished with a special coffee and crème brulee. All of the entrees were abundant, the sides were plenty for 2-3 people (we left with doggy bags of everything) and it was just a delightful dining experience. I would definitely go back and recommend to everyone.
We had an amazing dinner at 677 Prime. Layla was our server and she was amazing from start to finish. Very attentive and she is truly an asset to 677!
Outstanding service. Staff went out of their way to make birthday celebration perfect.
Went for the first time --I took my 4 kids ages 12, 14, 17 and 18. I wanted them to try something nice, you know, not fast food and with a fancy atmosphere. We played it safe by ordering what sounded familiar and they allowed us to make some changes. Everything came out great! I even ordered a cowboy steak to take home for my husband and he loved it! I loved the live music and relaxing atmosphere. I would not mind if my husband brought me here for our next anniversary (hint). We enjoyed dessert - big big chocolate cake and coconut cream pie - portions are "made to share" as our wonderful server said. He was very polite and checked in every so often - thank you :) great food, great atmosphere and great experience!!!
Went for our anniversary and had “happy anniversary “ on our desert and gave us a $10 gift card . Very tentative server
Good service, nice wine list nice presentation.
I love steak and I have eaten a a lot of high end Steak Houses over the years, but never have I eaten at one that was as good as 677 Prime! To start I had an Old fashion that was made to perfection. As an appetizer I ordered Oysters on the Half Shell, I love oysters and prior to this experience I have never had a reason to rave about them really the oyster does most of the work the restaurant opens them and put them on a plate, but at this place they were served with a lemon, Tabasco and horse radish sorbet that was the most delightful accompaniment to oysters that I have ever had, tangy with just the right amount of heat. I order a NY strip which was done to perfection, but the extra was that it was served with a head of roasted garlic on the side and the garlic went very well with the steak, for a veg I ordered the creamed spinach. Normally creamed spinach is very heavy with cream and sometimes cheese and I admit that is what I was expecting but instead it was prepared in a very light cream with a heavy dusting of Parmesan, it was great. For desert I had the cuissant doughnut It was a flaky doughnut floating in a vanilla cream sauce with a bout a pound of whipped cream. Fantastic! The server was polite, knowledgeable and attentive, but not to attentive. Over all it was a great meal and if I every get back to Albany I would eat there again.
As ever, the food was incredible, Chef Kenny and his team are masterful. Amazing amuse bouche, decadent dessert, and an amazing jalapeño creamed corn — sweet, savory and just a hint of spicy kick. The Pinot Noir Lacquered Sea Bass as usual (have every time) is an out of this world, umami experience. NEVER EVER change this one! Served with creamed leeks, fingerling potato discs, favs beans and lobster with reduced Pinot Noir drizzle. The cauliflower steak was excellent & tender and the real star of that dish was the cauliflower purée, which was pure velvet. Staff service is impeccable and gracious and knowledgeable as always. They made my birthday truly special. Thank you to Chef Kenny, Erich, and the entire team, as well as Chef Jaime Ortiz for creating such an elegant and comfortable atmosphere with his food, decor and selection of team. It is always welcoming and enjoyable.
Fantastic as always.
First time at 677 Prime to celebrate Valentines Day with my husband. We found the staff to be extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant is beautiful and the smells from the kitchen literally meet you at the front door. Susan was our waitress and she was wonderful! Husband and I left with full stomachs and empty wallets, but it was worth every penny. We will definitely be going back for our Anniversary.
The staff makes this restaurant! From the front desk, to the wait staff to the kitchen. They accommodated some tough food allergies while still keeping the food exciting and tasty. The food is very tasty but was looking for a few more vegetarian options. I like how they did not rush us and gave us ample time to enjoy each part of our meal. Great drink selections and ambience make this a great place for special occasions. I can't wait to return.
I ordered a bone in filet . They brought out a Porterhouse & then what looked like a strip. The last steak they brought out was a filet & I said - just leave it. I was told they would cover it. They did not. Covered 2 drinks......thanks. Pretty disappointing. I repeatedly said bone-in, but nobody listened. I will not eat here again. They do not listen or care
Disappointed with the meal overall. It was a holiday, but the resturant was not full when we sat or when we left. For the price of the selections I expected better quality. A majority of our food was cold when served. Service was ok, not great, couldn't send food back because our waitress didn't stop by to ask how it was. For a $300 meal, very disappointed - I wouldn't go back and would not recommend.
Great dinner. Medium well filet came out well done and gray but dealt with it. Food was otherwise very good. All the right touches on dishes. Cherry Pepper Pork was FANTASTIC! Basically picture the fanciest of pulled pork nachos. Big chocolate cake was BIG and delicious. Will certainly be back when we need a nice, fancy dinner (Valentines Day)
The service was impeccable. We were allowed time to talk over some business before ordering, but were never ignored. All the food we ordered was very good - the lobster roll looked to be the star though. My first visit, but won't be my last.
I want to start by saying the service was impeccable, the food was good. The problem I had was my cowboy steak I feel was over cooked, it was chard pretty bad on the outside leaving a burnt taste in my mouth. I will take partial blame since I ordered medium well, normally I would order medium! I just felt that for 55$ and 22 oz it would have been bigger and better, I was a little let down, since it was my birthday meal. I hate to say it but I have had much bigger and better steak at the Texas Road House. Thank you
Always great food
We dine at Prime only a couple of times a year, but this occasion was definitely marked by the BEST service we have ever experienced at the restaurant. Susan, our server, was attentive and professional but not “stuffy”. Timing of the meal was relaxed, but not overly drawn out which has happened in the past, which turns a family dinner out into a three hour experience☹️ The food, as always, was very good. I had the lobster cappuccino which was probably the best version of a lobster bisque I have EVER enjoyed - wonderful light appetizer even though it was a very creamy “soup”. The monkfish cheeks were also good, as were three steaks. But always leave room for dessert ! The croissant donut is by far my favorite, while others at the table enjoyed the chocolate cake served with vanilla ice cream and a glass of milk! Great visit this time.
Wait staff was superb, some of the food was not. Frog legs were amazing, monkfish cheeks were awful. Steaks were great, ravioli was not. For spending $300, I was not as happy as I should have been.
This was our first visit to Angelo’s 677 and we were very pleased with our lunch. The restaurant itself is elegant and beautifully decorated. Staff was friendly when we entered and that continued with the service, which was friendly, attentive and non-obtrusive.
The drink menu is creative and there is a moderately extensive variety of wines by the glass.
We ordered the Lamb Dip Sandwich, the Open-Faced Steak Sandwich, and the Salad Wich. There is Gluten-free bread available, so that most of the menu is available to those who cannot eat gluten. The soup of the day was black bean chili, which was delicious. There is a special, called the 4-Way Lunch, which consists of either soup of the day or lobster bisque, 1/2 salad, 1/2 sandwich and one side (shoestring fries, cole slaw, or potato salad). This is a bargain at $18. We were able to substitute sautéed spinach or asparagus for the side. Dessert was fresh berries with zabaglione, delightful and light. Lunch with drinks, mains, dessert, coffee, taxes and 20% tip was approximately $50 a head.
There is valet parking at the door for $3 an hour, but we were able to park on the street easily.
Angelo’s 677 Prime is definitely a restaurant we would visit again.
Best meal ever. Wedge salad was unique. Salmon so awesome. Hubby’s prime rib delectable. Thanks Angelo!
Amazing food and Mark was great
Though the service was good. We had to wait for the water to get refilled. This happened twice.
My husband and I went for our anniversary. The food was exceptional and the service was exemplary as well. It was a romantic atmosphere but also felt relaxing and comfortable. Perfect evening!
Celebrated my birthday dinner here.
Mark was my waiter and he was so sweet. My husband and I ordered the calamari to start.
I had filet with asparagus. Very good.
He had the burger. I also enjoyed a pear martini.
I will be honest with you. I had the lobster bisque and a fillet mignon. The lobster bisque did not taste like lobster to me. It had the right color but no lobster bits or ocean flavor. It filmed over very easily between spoons, kind of like it wanted to separate. I had to stir it each time I took a spoon. I had asked for the steak to be medium rare. The waiter asked me to check it while he waited and it was a little undercooked. I really appreciated that he asked that. When the steak came back I found it to be cooked properly and very tender but a little mushy. I suspect that the cook had grilled/fried.. the steak in salted butter initially, and then recooked it in additional butter. The result was that it was too rich. I did this to my self once cooking a steak at home (which I do often). I put too much butter on the steak which absorbed it and ruined it. The sweat potato fries were excellent.
My companions both had the prime burger which they said was excellent. They also had potato leek soup that both of them said did not taste like potato leek soup. They liked it but told me that they would not have been able to identify the soup if they didn’t already know.
The service was excellent. If you are looking for more feedback I would suggest serving steak with much sharper knives. I was unable to cut thin slices with the beefy, dull serrated knife. At home I use a very sharp knife to cut steak and feel that it adds to the mouthfeel of the dish.
I have been to Angelo's for dinner on many occasions and always recommend it. However, for lunch I was very disappointed with the lack of menu items. Also, there were limited side options and the fries I ordered came out cold. I would have sent them back but then my steak would get cold waiting for fries. I cannot recommend Angelo's for lunch and compared to dinner it was a huge disappointment.
Cheers to Angelo's 677! Not once did I hear a "thank you" responded with a "no problem" but always "my pleasure". This response is so believable and a true value to frequent diners. And the service was wonderful.
Every time we come here is is amazing. The dry-aged beef is simply the best tasting around!!!!!
Best restaurant for fine dining in Albany. Celebrated my birthday there. The food, cocktails and service was excellent. French onion soup is the best I have ever tasted. Lump crab cocktail is amazing. All of our entrees were delicious and cooked to perfection. Ended the evening with Bananas Foster served table side. Will be back!
It was great! They always deliver. Unfortunately, my steak was under flavored, but still good. Our appetizer was amazing and the service cannot be beat.
The food and service are fabulous! Great for special occasions such as birthday dinners!
Makes any occasion special.
We were running late for our New Years Eve reservations but upon arrival we were seated right away. Hostess seemed to be very friendly. We were greeted instantly for water and our beverage selections. The menus light up! Nice touch indeed! Wine list was very extensive. Our server, Annie was very attentive, friendly, and professional. She gave superb service. The restaurant was a bit cool in temperature than I would have liked. We ordered Shrimp cocktail, and French onion soup which were both delish! For our main course we ordered the filet and the Kobe beef with the hassle back potato to share. Kobe beef was amazing! A bit pricey but if you are looking to splurge I would recommend this option. Filet was amazing too, a bit larger than I expected. The array of sauces and different salts were pleasing, although the flavor of the meat really did not need any sauce. My favorite was the creamy horseradish sauce with my filet. The hassle back potato was ok, we were not totally impressed. Overall we enjoyed our meal here and would stop in again if we were ever in this area again. Nice job to the staff at 677 Prime!
Our waitress (Jenna?) was awesome, very helpful, friendly. Excellent Service.
As always, Michelle our hostess makes us feel like royalty. She's the best.
Always Excellent, please put lobster meat back in the bisque!😊
Food was okay; service was spotty; french fries may have been frozed, though I did not confirm that. If they were, not great for a steak house to use frozen fries.
Better than ok, but not really outstanding. We've had a rough time finding a place we really like in Albany. We go into the city a few times a year for shows and have tried many restaurants. This is the one where we've had the best experience. The problem was the server was not particularly attentive, the space was chilly, and the cost is quite high for the portions.
