About Angelo Elia Pizza, Wine Bar and Tapas - Delray Beach
Opening Angelo Elia Pizza, Wine Bar and Tapas restaurant was a passion of Chef Angelo Elia for more than eight years. While Casa D'Angelo has been a place for him to showcase his depth of Italian technique, he wanted to create a restaurant that felt more like the simple Italy he visits year after year where ingredients are at the forefront. A place where you could come and sit and pick at food as you want with friends. But it didn't come that easy. Like all things that are simple, careful thought and research has gone into the menu and the guarded sources of our premium ingredients. In the end, Angelo Elia Pizza is all about friends and a good bottle of wine enjoyed in a contemporary, easy dining atmosphere.

Angelo Elia Pizza, Wine Bar and Tapas - Delray Beach Ratings and Reviews
We really enjoyed the food and service on our previous visits to this very lively restaurant. This time, however, many things were not up to par. An incorrect order took so long to replace that the other 5 of us had finished our meals. Requested black pepper never arrived, where it should have been offered in the first place. The veal in the parmegiana was tough. The clams in the linguini al vongele were too salty to eat - the chopped clams in the sauce were okay. Water glasses weren't refilled. As we've really enjoyed our other visits, we were surprised to be so disappointed this time.
With less than 1/2 the restaurant occupied and our reservation on hand, we were first told of there were no tables available. Then after we showed our reservation from Open Table, we were walked out to a table hastily set up by the parking lot. After we complained, were were brought to one of the empty tables inside. The service was slow, food took too long to arrive. Bad experience.
This was our first visit to Angelo Elia this season. The food was exceptional. Both salads that our group had were superb, and the Snapper Livornese special was the best fish dish I have had in a long time. The service was quite good. My only complaint was that the restaurant was fairly noisy. we definitely plan to visit Angelo Elia again soon.
We had the Beet Salad which was excellent. Also the Clams Vongole which is one of my favorites. There was a white and red wine listed as a special for the evening. I did try the white wine, and it was light, but very good. My partner cannot drink because of medications. All in all the service and the food was just delicious....This place is one of my favorites.
Walked in for our reservation with a 96 year old man and asked for a close table. We were taken to the furthest table in the empty restaurant and it was pushed in under a tree so that you had branches hanging on your heads. We sat down at the next table and the hostess said it was reserved so we told her we would leave rather that sit under the tree and it miraculously became available. The wine pours were stingy, the pizza was soggy and the noise was deafening. We’ve been to this restaurant so many times but it will be a long time before we go back again.
The food was delicious as well as the waiter service. However, it seems that whenever we make an open table reservation we get an undesirable table. We were seated in the bar area across from the cases where they keep dessert etc. rather than the main restaurant seating area. This has happened at other restaurants as well. It s as though because we are earning point we are treated differently.
The food was gourmet. Most excellent presentation and home cooked taste. My wife had salmon done perfectly and I had the mixed seafood and pasta which was excellent with shrimp, calamari, clams, mussels in a most delicate flavorful sauce. And the pasta done perfectly. Service was terrific!
We have been to Angelo d'Elias before but haven't been there for awhile. We decided to take our granddaughters. It was a pleasant lunch and fun afternoon. The girls enjoyed it and one took home half her pizza. We will come again....especially if we are going to Morikami
