About Angelo Elia Pizza, Wine Bar and Tapas - Delray Beach
Opening Angelo Elia Pizza, Wine Bar and Tapas restaurant was a passion of Chef Angelo Elia for more than eight years. While Casa D'Angelo has been a place for him to showcase his depth of Italian technique, he wanted to create a restaurant that felt more like the simple Italy he visits year after year where ingredients are at the forefront. A place where you could come and sit and pick at food as you want with friends. But it didn't come that easy. Like all things that are simple, careful thought and research has gone into the menu and the guarded sources of our premium ingredients. In the end, Angelo Elia Pizza is all about friends and a good bottle of wine enjoyed in a contemporary, easy dining atmosphere.

Angelo Elia Pizza, Wine Bar and Tapas - Delray Beach Ratings and Reviews
We were 8 people and we were very satisfied with everything! Considering it was Valentines Day it was not overbooked . We sat right down and the servers brought bread immediately and took our orders promptly. The food was delicious! All of us enjoyed our Valentines Day dinner! We would definitely return!
We were seated next to the entrance way of the back, outside room. There were MANY available tables, yet they insisted we couldn’t change! We were being knocked and banged into by everyone. It was like sitting on a highway! Awful! Limited menu...the only fish they offer is salmon. Service was pleasant but slow. Drinks are skimpy.
This is a great place, eat there four or five times each season. Solid menu and consistent food quality. Very busy in season and as a result sometimes quite noisy but always quiet enough to have a conversation . Value is comparable to almost every good restaurant in the area if you order a dinner entree.
The table was by the doorway and the waitstaff was constantly hitting into the chairs. Pizza was dry. roasted vegetables not as indicated on menu. Special antipasto salad was mostly lettuce. Had to ask several times for refills on water. Check came promptly.
It is very frustrating that when two or more women are dining without men, service is spotty. We had to ask for bread that tables seated after us had almost finished and we had to ask for fresh pepper and grated cheese on the pasta dish ordered. The server was slower with us than with the table next to us, seated after us...two couples, whose orders were taken before ours, etc, etc, etc.... I thought those days were over! Food was very good though and, although the noise level was high, I will go back!
Food was good. Had a great chopped chef salad (my favorite).
Julio, our waiter, was delightful. He catered to our every need. Wish we could have him every time.
Plus, Angelo Eliaallows us to use a table in the back to play mahjong after lunch.
We ate early outside so it was nice and quiet. The food was excellent with attractive presentation. We started with the glazed pear and shrimp salad which was delicious. Next we had the pasta de mare. Also very good. Closing with cappuccino and very generous portions of gelato
Staff has a bit of an attitude, but, he got nicer! Food was good. Bread horrible! Skimpy pour on the wine....when I mentioned it to the waiter, the manager came over, embarrassed me in front of my friends, and told me it’s not a “ short pour”. It would’ve been smarter to add another drop to my glass.
First of all, parking is terrible and you almost have to use the valet parking whether you want to or not. Second, we had a 7:15 reservation, out entire party was there at 7:10, the table was right there empty, but they still would not seat us until 7:15. The menu was very limited, and certain staples of Italian dining, such as eggplant parmagian were limited to being a Tapas (appetizer). Service was haphazard with salads being delivered simultaneously with the main course. Two of ordered the same dish and they were delivered with noticeable differences in quantity. Pricing was high for what was delivered. Bread was doled out as if they were taking it from their children’s mouths. Never going back.
Great food. We shared three dishes and they were all outstanding. Horrible service. Our waiter was so flippant and unenthusiastic that we all thought we were on candid camera. We must have caught him on a bad day. Overall, the food was good enough that we will be going back.
