Angelina's Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
This was our first time at Angelina's---and we loved the experience. It began with the
friendly and courteous valet--he not only opened car doors---but the restaurant door too. It was amazing how he remembered the cars by last names---no ticket.
The hostess area was well staffed and friendly. The atmosphere was great--including the wine tower. Our waiter was Anthony--he was OUTSTANDING. Since it was our visit (of soon to be many) to Angelina's, Anthony explained how the food was sourced locally, made from scratch--including the mozzarella and pasta. He pointed out the herb garden just outside our window. Our meal was delicious. It was a great evening . We will return soon.
The service could have been better, our waiter got lost at times. We ordered a bottle of wine and it took a very long time to arrive. We about to receive our appetizers and I had to inquire with our waiter where is the bottle of wine. Only at that time did he mention that they were having trouble locating the bottle I had selected. The proper bottle of wine did arrive, just as we received our appetizer. Another point on the service, after we received our dessert the waiter never came back to check to see if we were satisfied with our desserts. As a matter of fact we did not see him for 30+ minutes after our desserts arrived and then had to ask the busboy to find our waiter so we could get our check. He arrived about five minutes after we asked for him.
The food was very good, the appetizer had good seasoning and flavor and the salads were also very tasty. The pork Osso Bucco entree was tasty, but could have used more seasoning. Overall the food was very good and the portion sizes were plentiful.
The ambience was nice, comfortable and not too loud considering the amount of people dining and how close everyone was seated.
Angelinas’s is always solid. My biggest mystery is how my husband & I are NEVER given booth seating, even when we request well in advance or the day of or at the time of entering the restaurant. Last night when we asked the greeter hesitated & then told us they were all reserved. When I asked when, she said “at 7:30”. When we left our table at 8:15, 4 of the booths were empty.
Our waitress, Denise, was excellent.
In the subject of Zepollis, yummy fried dough, we are puzzled as to why you can’t get a half order. It is a big dessert & it seems easy to serve a half portion. We witnessed a table of 4 refuse to order then as well due to the size! Please figure out how to only cook half the donuts!!
Very busy servers; took forever to get a drink order in; requested bread twice, my meal was not hot. Shrimp Scampi with no garlic! Sauce was forgettable. Caesar Salad was limp and tasteless. However, husbands meal was fabulous Grouper. Very disappointing overall. Have been there a number of times and it was good.
Price gouging. Wine substitute was offered for second bottle, only to find out in the bill it was $30 more. Vegetarian pasta was billed at $79. The menu option we chose had $25 off any bottle of wine. Not in the bill.
After discussion, in which the waitress spoke loudly, attracting attention from a roomful of diners(an example of discretion!!), the manager did take off $125 off our bill.
