Angela's
Chef Zafari brings his signature blends of Mediterranean flavor and California style to a more casual atmosphere. Maria prepares fresh house made flatbread daily, served with their signature chutney flavors of cilantro and roasted red pepper. The rotating menu takes advantage of the very best fresh, organic ingredients, sourced from independent farms and local farmers' markets. Their modern reinventions of traditional Afghan cuisine showcase those great flavors in ways that harmonize with those same local ingredients of the Bay Area.

Cody came up with a new cocktail.....Mari’s Mule with pomegranate, gin, and another fruit that I never heard of. Nice red color and it is outstanding!!!
The food was delicious and service was great as always
Food is amazing! Had the bolani, jambalaya, french onion soup, lime chicken & alfredo pasta. They were even able to accomodate 2 picky kids who didn't want meat, vegetables and chutney with their dishes. Waitress & staff were very attentive and friendly.
Definitely coming back here!
The pumpkin and chicken risotto was absolutely superb!! Also demolished the beef tenderloin with the peppercorn red wine sauce......for a medium rare choice cut, Saboor somehow transforms it into a juicy and tender four star plate. Cody’s new passion fruit vodka tonic hit the spot in this Halloween night! Indoor dining is available now also.
Enjoyed one of the best filet mignons ever, roasted medium rare in a red wine peppercorn sauce. Simply delicious thanks to owner chef Saboor in the kitchen....plus I downed like four of Cody’s splendid Rhubarb Mules......made a hot Friday evening very cool in Alameda!
Sittin on the side walk with cars close to us was noisy and unhealthy.
They did not have anything to offer for a birthday celebration nor did they even wish the person.
We were very pleased with the food and the service. We were not happy with the noise nor was the ambience very good. We would have rated those two items higher had we been able to sit indoors and the low mark was given just on account of the COVID restrictions. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
BBQ Beef ribs tonight were utterly amazing and of course Cody’s Rhubarb Mule just hit the spot as I sat and watched the traffic go by on that famous stretch called Park Street.
Angela's is a favorite spot for our family. Consistently good food, great cocktails, and a nice wine list.
Great food, good service, a good go to spot
Angelas is the place to go where Alameda diners enjoy after the show. Rack of lamb back by popular demand and the Rhubarb Mule is Cody’s jewel!!!
Staff was great. Food was stellar even if reduced menu for COVID. The cocktails were A++++. Really
Enjoyed tbt evening.
Great as always. Would love to see a new dessert. A little tired of the panne Cote. Other than thAt, great.
Tried Cody’s Rhubarb Vodka Mule.......simply outstanding handcrafted and bottled pleasure. Along with his Pineapple Gin’n’Tonic, I’m all set for the outdoor dining at Angelas!!! They do a lot of Take Out and every entree made with love by owners Saboor and Mari. My favorite spot in Alameda!!!
We went there for a birthday. The food and the service were excellent. It was a bit noisy but because of covid it is outside dining on the street so the noise was unavoidable.
Enjoyed a great patio dinner and cocktails at Angela’s last night. Cody’s homemade pineapple infused gin n tonics are a bomb!! The spicy chicken linguine and chicken Marsala expertly prepared by Chef/Owner Zabor tasted wonderful. Service by Heidi very professional and safety conscious. They do a very busy takeout service also. Highly recommend this joint for fantastic drinks, comfort food and escape from the pandemic!!
My daughter had the Spicy Chicken Sausage Linguine. It was good but could use more spice. It was too mild. Or if she can have the extra spice on the side since not everyone is into that. Otherwise, it was a good meal.
Angela's is a lovely place, the food is always stellar with good service to boot. Good place for conversation, coupled with fine food, I like it a lot. Take friends, always a treat.
One of our favorite restaurants in alameda. Good service diverse menu. Prepared well. One wish would be to change up the vegetables that come with entrees.
We go here quite a bit. Tonight the service was great, but the food was disappointing. The Squash Borani is usually excellent, but what they served looked like left over scraps. They also did not have the wine we ordered from the menu.
Like chicken, masse plate both are delicious. Yummy bread and walnut cilantro sauce.
Delicious food. Lovely artwork. Friendly service. Only negative: Our second order of cocktails were watered down!!
This was our first time dining here...our favorite was the duck appetizer .. the lamb kebabs were very small and not much flavor....not sure we will return.
Nice ambiance; only caveat is that is was quite dark and we could barely see the menu; we had to use our phone flashlight. Food was excellent: mediterranean salad, lamb kebab (with mash instead of rice), and sweet white wine.
Food is always AMAZING!!!!!!
We've been patronizing Angela's since we moved to Alameda in 2006. It has consistently delicious food, especially the lamb dishes. I appreciate the fact that it isn't so noisy that you can't hear yourself think. It's a little too pricy for everyday dining, but it's great for special occasions.
Our server was was pleasant, intelligent and attentive. We could not have asked for better service. The food, choice of meats, seasoning was superb. They’re restaurant is consistently the same when it comes to food preparation - we can always expect an excellent meal.
Valentine day
Food was amazing!!
Our server was delightful! The food was delicious and expertly prepared.
Angela’s has the best grilled salmon in Alameda, probably the entire Bay Area. My friend and I ordered the salmon that was accompanied by perfect mashed potatoes and sautéed green beans and cauliflower For dessert we shared the whiskey bread pudding which was the perfect ending to our suburb dinner. The service is exemplary. As soon as we were seated, a basket of Italian style bread was placed on our table. The waitress who was friendly and professional brought wine and tea and frequently checked back with us. Being Super Bowl night the restaurant was relatively quiet. A great variety of paintings were displayed on the wall. All in all, Angela’s is a great restaurant to have a quiet dinner.
The food and specialty-made cocktails are amazing and Sabor always has a special treat planned for the evening specials. This night my husband and I had the pot roast that absolutely melted in our mouths and was elegantly presented on top of mashed potatoes, with green beans laid to one side and the au jus drizzled over the top SCRUMPTIOUS! Love the Rose Water Pana Cotta for desert. Angela's is sure to be one of your "go to" favorites.
My bar to chill out in Alameda. Great everything!!
Since Zati's closed on Piedmont Ave., Angela's has become my absolutely favorite go-to place to eat. Food always interesting and delicious. Service excellent. Cocktails divine. Easy parking. And living in Oakland, its always nice to cross the bridge into Alameda and feel like you've left town.
Their bread and cilantro dip is outstanding. I could easily fill up on this before my entree came out. I had the lime chicken which was very tender and absolutely delicious! The dessert was amazing as well. Service was really good, except the waitress forgot who ordered what, but it was a small hiccup. The husband and wife duo are the owners and chefs and produce a great overall experience. I would highly recommend this restaurant
Service was very good and the wines were also very good. The main course was prepared well yet the sides (cauliflower and gen. vegetables) were a bit cool and un-inspiring.
Also, we had reservations for 7 pm and upon presentation of the night specials, 3 in our party, ordered the scallops only to be told they only had 1 order left. With only 1 order left why are you still making this presentation?
Lastly, please update you web site. We looked at it in order to chose the wines and possible meals only to learn we had just wasted our time since none of the information listed was accurate.
Overall I would recommend.
Great food, service and ambience. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to all.
My new favorite east bay restaurant for any occasion.
Sat at the bar and let Cody do his work. Owner Saboor from the kitchen did his own magic....The beef potstickers Afghan style, French onion soup, pear salad, fillet mignon and veggie Aushak all were outstanding and priced very reasonable. Five or more Tito’s tonics crowned a great night at a great Alameda joint....
Great food
