Chef Zafari brings his signature blends of Mediterranean flavor and California style to a more casual atmosphere. Maria prepares fresh house made flatbread daily, served with their signature chutney flavors of cilantro and roasted red pepper. The rotating menu takes advantage of the very best fresh, organic ingredients, sourced from independent farms and local farmers' markets. Their modern reinventions of traditional Afghan cuisine showcase those great flavors in ways that harmonize with those same local ingredients of the Bay Area.
We weren’t dressed nicely so I fear maybe that’s why the service was poor? We didn’t get bread like the other tables, and the others who arrived before us were served first. The lime chicken was delicious but the aushak was so spicy I couldn’t eat it. The waitress forgot to refill our water and didn’t question the full plate she took away.
Food was delicious! Service was perfect!
Great cocktails and food. Plus the ambiance is lovely. A bit pricey.
Our waitress was very attentive and helpful in making our selections. Angela's has always been a favorite for a special occasions.
Great cocktails . Delicious entrees; particularly the rack of lamb. Lovely artwork. Friendly staff. My favorite restaurant in Alameda.
Love Angela's. Great drink menu and excellent menu. The duck strudel con fit was outstanding and the meatloaf special was amazing as well.
Attentive, kind staff. Fabulous food! My 91 year old mother loved the while experience and appreciated being treated with such care. You're our new official favorite restaurant!
Consistently good. Love their lamb! Lots of selection on their menu and always some interesting specials. Highly recommend.
Our first time visiting Angela's. Outstanding service. Diverse menu offerings, to include vegetarian options. Unique flavor combinations. The entire meal from beginning to end was superb. We look forward to our next visit.
Angel's was a pleasant surprise as we did not know what to expect. The food was fresh and fantastic but the bartender Cody steals the show with his cocktails and overall knowledge of everything Angela's has to offer.
The food is great, good portions, striking flavors. Days later I’m still craving the Aushak. Service is great, on point, personable and they know about the food they are serving. Didn’t stay for dessert, guess we have to go back.
The food was good but the wait for the food was a bit too long.
Loved our dining experience at Angelas. We had a quiet table in the corner where it was easy to converse. The main courses were excellent. The salad with the prefixe menu was fresh but uninteresting, however the value of salad, main course, and dessert was good for the price. The baklava was fantastic.
Lamb and Chicken wonderful, Mashed potato's the best, I love the Salmon when he offers it as a special. He always offers the best tomato's.
Food was exceptional, service attentive, and atmosphere provides for a nice ambiance. Limited wine selection but good prices. Will definitely return.
Great Meal, Caprese salad was delicious , chicken is always very good, love the Salmon, beef and Lamb, can't go wrong at Angela's.
From beginning to end, everything was perfect!!
On this particular occasion, there was a large party in the bar and the noise level was unusually loud. The food and the service were excellent, but I could barely hear the waiter.
Love this local restaurant. Not loud, so you can actually have dinner AND conversation. Great food, every time. Good place to bring relatives who are visiting.
Great meal and great service!
Thank you very much, hope to see you again soon.
Our first visit to Angela‘s and it was just perfect. The owner is also the chef and the food was delicious, as were the cocktails from the bar. Exceptional service as well!
Thank you, come back again soon.
20th work anniversary dinner. The scallops were amazing and as always the lime chicken was to die for. My watermelon vodka cocktail was so good I could drink a pitcher of it but I had to drive.
Thank you, have to say that watermelon vodka is one of my favorites too.
Normally has great food and service. Not tonight. All orders took a long time to be served. When food arrived it was not as good as usual. The watermelon vodka drink tasted and looked like lemonade. Disappointing. Waitress was friendly, but ineffective.
Haven’t been in a year / great improvement in service & food! Will be back!
My intimate retirement dinner. Just my partner and me. Wonderful salmon. Beef and risotto excellent. Not rushed. Excellent red wine
This was our first time at Angela's. We will definitely go back. The food was lovely and the service was good. I don't know why we waited so long to have a meal there.
Always great food
We like Angela's a lot but happened to hit it on a bad night for them. Their computer was down and they were understaffed. It took forever to be seated and then we were forgotten. The food is good, but it did not agree with me at 3 am.
We dined on Wednesday July 3rd, 2019. The food was excellent. Service was very slow but our server was very busy and the restaurant was understaffed for the amount of people that were there. It been a few years since I had been there and I found the food to be much better. Large portions and I had enough leftover for lunch. The only disappointment was they do not carry Hendricks Gin and that is the only martini I will have. Just had a Gin & Tonic. Not the same but I will be back to see if they are stocking Hendricks!
Nothing worth talking about.
Angela's never disappoints me. The food is excellent and our Server Salvatore was awesome. Always looked if we need something and explained all the dishes we ordered. Would highly recommend to folks.
Food was excellent as always. Service was a bit off this time and it took a long time to get our entrees. Seemed a little short-staffed and had a trainee assisting; however, a check in/update from the waiter would have been appreciated. Once the food arrived, all was good.
One of our go-to restaurants in Alameda. I would highly recommend the Duck Strudel appetizer. Angela's also has a great wine list - my wife and I have never been disappointed.
Absolutely loved this place. Excellent service, excellent high quality food, great location and ambiance. Absolutely loved!
Another cool night at the bar. Just hanging with Cody the Dude Mixologist and enjoying the neighborhood vibes. Place to hang out in Alameda and enjoy great comfort food prepared by Sabor and Marie. The breaded/lightly fried chicken is absolutely delicious. Get it with that long Afghan rice. Can’t go wrong!
Great appetizers and desserts!
Very hopping Friday evening at the bar. Cody is doing his thing and the place was packed. Good food, good company, hospitality by the owners are fantastic!
Great food. The lamb cabob was the best ever. The backlavah is to die for. CFC
In general, the food was good, but the service was...slow/not attentive. The hostess was running (literally running) around the place and was so frantic that she was slamming the plates down and soillig the water while pouring. Our waitress only told us about one of the three specials. I ordered a cocktail and my boyfriend ordered a hot tea- we waited about ten/fifteen minutes before asking our waitress where they were and she said she completely forgot about the tea, but will check on the bar. They ended coming out a few minutes after our food and at first, my boyfriend only received hot water and we had to ask for a tea bag. They were nice, but not great service for 8:00 at night. I’d recommend to a friend since the food was good and cooked well, but would warn them!
Bar is my place to hang out. Great cocktails and ambience, food from the open kitchen very satisfying and comforting family dishes that can be shared.
