The rotating menu takes advantage of the very best fresh, organic ingredients, sourced from independent farms and local farmers' markets. A pleasant evening out with friends with good food. We found the food and the service to be very good. Two of us had the beet salad; chilled, dressed appropriately; nice mix of beets, greens, and cheese - very good. We also ordered a flat bread for the table and it was a nice addition with the salad - not to mushy, good flavor and texture. I had the lime chicken, which was quite wonderful; cooked well (i.e., not overcooked and dry), juicy, with the correct amount of potatoes and green beans; and it came to the table almost hot. My first companion raved about the short ribs - cooked perfectly and tasted great. My second companion had the lentil stew with rice. They did say it was OK. Limited selection of desserts; one companion had the chocolate mousse and judged it as good; the other companion had the panna cotta and thought it was so-so. I thought I'd have a cup of tea for dessert and they had no remaining English breakfast tea bags. How is that possible?? In any event, service was fine. The primary waitperson was pleasant, friendly, enthusiastic, informative, and very efficient. The interiors were acceptable and our table was sufficiently spaced from other diners so it turned out fine. The noise level varied from moderate to energetic, but we were able to converse most of time without yelling. Great friends, good/very food. Can't ask for much more. And, yes, I would return to Angela's.
Waited 1.5 hours for good after ordering
Angela's has never disappointed us. Seasonal fare, nice ambiance, great service and the owner is preparing your dinner in the open kitchen, fun to watch. The bar makes really great cocktails, very inventive bartender! The food is always delicious and I appreciate the changing for the season menu!
Whenever my brother drives up for a visit from Los Angeles, he always requests we go to Angela's for a nice dinner. As locals, we think it is one of the very best Alameda has to offer.
Another fabulous Saturday night at Angela’s with my entourage enjoying the bartending charms/skills of Cody and delightful cuisine of Owner’s Mari and Saboor. The Lamb Kabobs and Lamb Shank were exceptionally wonderful and the hospitality from the staff kicked off the holiday season to a great start!
Angela’s always exceeds our expectations!!!!! :-)
We have always had a good meal at angelas
Awesome awesome awesome
8 of us went to dinner 6 and never been there before they were absolutely impressed we had a wonderful dinner they made specialty cocktails for us at the end of the night as we left couldn't have had a better night food was fabulous
I always have a wonderful, delicious meal here. Love the lime chicken, salmon, aushak, great appetizers. Waiters are very attentive. Great bar and bartender. One of my favorite restaurants in Alameda.
Four of us dined here last weekend and found the service and food to be exceptional. The Lime Chicken was delicious. Looking forward to returning soon.
Waiter was too busy - so no quality time - felt rushed
One of THE BEST restaurants ever!! Fun! Flirty! Not too big. DELICIOUS food! Innovative drinks! I would HIGHLY recommend Angela's!! EXCELLENT! The best!!
Great steak and lime chicken. Cody the bartender is awesome. A great place to meet friends and hang out, Owners Sabor and Mari’s dishes are very flavorful and tasty, don’t need salt here!!
Staff was quite pleasant and the food was good. We went to celebrate a special occasion and the waiter was quite accommodating in chilling and corking the champagne for us. Everyone in our party was quite upbeat and happy.
Go To place in Alameda, just to unwind and sip a fancy cocktail creation courtesy of Cody, the perfect bartender. He stocks an outstanding collection of wine, beer and the good stuff. Saboor and Mari are fantastic owners, chefs and friends....and know how to entertain and take care of their customers. I could come here every night....
Food made with love authenticity and sophistication
A favorite neighborhood place, had the duck strudel of course and it was great. Had the sea scallop special and the were melt in your mouth tender, great dinner.
Sat at the bar on a Friday evening, it quickly became full, Cody the bartender performed his usual magic and snake oil, I felt no pain after a few Tito’s and Tonic plus one or two. Wonderful heirloom tomato salad and beef shiskebobs from owners Saboor and Mari in the kitchen. Like to see Sophia working the tables because she is very nice in many ways! Just love it here.......
I have had better meals at this restaurant. We had the price fixed dinner. Wasn't as good as the regular menu.
We had terrible service, slow & inattentive. Took over an hour to get our dinner which when finally arrived were told was overcooked & they'd bring us another. The meal should have never been served! I ate my dinner while my husband picked at his since it was way overcooked. Not a fun date dinner. By the time our prepared correctly meal finally arrived we just asked to have it to go-wanted to get out of there after hours of shoddy service! Big disappointment. Should have been comped the meal or at least a couple drinks for ruining our rare date night out.
I don't believe I've ever had scallops so amazing. Great service and outstanding drinks.
Angela's is one of our family's favorite restaurants in Alameda if not thee best! My brother is from LA and always requests that we dine at Angela's when he visits. We love the menu options.
Just love this place, the bar where Cody mixes his magic and Tito’s takes over the brain. Saboor and Mari cook up a storm in the kitchen and Sophia is really nice! Next time take Uber for sure....
ANgela's is a great place for very tasty food and the specials are fantastic. Never been disappointed.
Had another great night at the bar, Cody was off but Gregg was superb mixing the magic. Can’t say enough about this place, Saboor and Mari cooked up really nice spicy pasta and lime chicken. Sophia is s fantastic server and always smiling!
St. Jacques scallops were amazing.
Great combination of layered flavors, good wine list, great cocktails, good service, and reasonable pricing. You don't see that a lot any longer.
Sat at the bar where Cody mixes his magic, great steak from the kitchen and owners Saboor and Mari, I could barely walk after numerous Tito/tonics but I made it home and chalked up another fantastic evening at Angela’s!!!
Glad that the Lime Chicken is back on the menu. Chef Saboor is one of the best especially with wife Maria by his side. The mixologist is AWESOME. Love love love this restaurant. I’ve been know to go by myself sometimes as they make me feel comfortable. It’s home.
This is our favorite restaurant in Alameda. The owners of Angela's have been in the restaurant business a very long time and we have been enjoying this restaurant for over 15 years now; it remains our local favorite for it's fresh, healthy, flavorful menu items. The bread and cilantro dipping sauce are outstanding, the new cocktail bar has a lot of creativity.
Waiter could have been more knowledgeable. Also ordered dessert but it never came , was not kn the bill so let it go. Has organic and food was good.
I loved the aushak - a spinach ravioli with a great rose. The roasted filet was a hit with my son. Shared the yummy bread pudding with an amazing whiskey sauce and whipped cream. A true gem at Angela's. 😁
Enjoyed another great and fun night sitting at the only table close to the bar where Cody does his magic. I personally like his Tito Tonic with a sliver of whatever dried fruit he decides to infuse. Owner Saboor and Mari are seasoned veterans in the boiler room and everything we ordered was delicious, the lime chicken especially. Glad this joint is in Alameda!
Pretty good little restaurant, nothing spectacular. Very friendly & attentive service. Food was mixed bag - my date's lamb was very good, my chicken was just okay. Good healthy options. My cocktail was odd but creative and interesting; the wine selection was good. I most strongly recommend the Duck Strudel, a unique and flavorful dish.
Excellent staff though they were short handed for the Memorial Day weekend. Food was exceptional but mine was slightly off temp because again they were short staffed. All in all I highly recommend!
I've visited Angela's twice in the past month, and both events have been enjoyable. The food is fresh with a good blend of flavors and textures. The lime fried chicken is great. Moist and delicious.
We had the steelhead trout, which was pushed on both occasions and described as "tastes just like salmon". It does have a similar salmon taste. Our serving was a bit dry, however.
The service is friendly and attentive. Good bar service.
One thing to consider is the noise level. That can be off-putting if you're looking for quiet conversation.
I would go back to try other menu items.
The service was excruciatingly slow. The waiter (Pierson) did NOT tell us about specials (We only knew this because we overheard him telling another table). The mezze platter was not genuine. It was the worst humus, baba ganoush, and spinach dip I have ever, in my life, tasted. How can this be the top 10 Open Table in the East Bay. Definitely NOT agree!!!
The carnivore in our group was in heaven - loved every bite! They had a wonderful rack of lamb special he went to town on.
The rest of us vegetarians won't be coming back. The options were there, but didn't hit the mark for what we paid. 4 pieces of butternut squash on a plate was a let-down. I roast a whole half at home for my husband alone, so color me unimpressed. Pasta was just okay, nothing to write home about. Dessert was also only ok - Dad was disappointed that the brulee wasn't warm. Service was slower and less attentive than we prefer.
We loved the food and the service was great! So nice to stay in Alameda and have a lovely dinner!
