Andy's Jazz Club
As a Detroit native, reminded me of a couple well known joints here, but I really enjoyed it. Nice atmosphere, service was good, but the food ordered (crab cake and mac&cheese) was bland, not flavorful at all, and slightly overpriced. The drinks had a decent kick for the price too.
Andy's is always an absolute delight! We had a booth with a perfect view of the stage for our most recent visit. Our server was attentive and friendly, the food and drinks were great, and the ambiance was excellent, as usual. The music was particularly outstanding during our last visit as well! We'll be back as soon as we can. Thanks, Andy's!
Excellent little place! Food was better than expected and music was brilliant. Will be going back next time we visit the city!
Nice place, great music and drinks! Would go again!
The key to the evening was the fantastic jazz played by Matt Muneses’s quintet. But that wonderful jazz creativity was supported incredibly by a quality of dining experience and service that was second to none. We greatly appreciated the person who greeted us asking politely for us to keep our conversations at a low level so as not to distract from the music enjoyment if others. That is a classy thing to do. We will definitely be back to Andy’s and recommend other’s go there too for a great evening of jazz!
First time visiting Andy's Jazz Club! The experience was wonderful!
Great jazz music. Excellent service. The food menu was brief and a bit on the expensive side - but a wonderful experience all together.
We had a wonderful evening on a cold January Tuesday night. It was pretty empty for the second show. My boyfriend and I ordered desert, which was just alright (he had the chocolate cake and I had the tiramisu.) The slices were of good size, but the actual baked goods were nothing to write home about, especially for $10 a slice. I ordered a Manhattan, which tasted watered down and oddly sweet. But you don't come to a place like this for the food or cocktails. The music was excellent. Our night was Angel Spiccia who sang jazz standards with a trio (including her father on piano. That man can PLAY!) Professionally done despite a small crowd, yet still inviting. The volume was spot on. You could hear the music perfectly, yet still speak to your date occasionally and be heard with out raising your voice. It was great date spot with a small cover charge (that we were told goes right to the performers.)
We had a private table table with a great view of the stage and the group was very good.
The level they played at still allowed for conversation, and the atmosphere was most pleasant.
I will plan on returning next time I have plans to visit downtown Chicago. (The only set back
was the greeter at the door - He might need to visit a local Walmart and watch the man at the door.)
Great music. Great Food. Awesome experience. The shrimp cocktail appetizer features 6 huge shrimp. The NY Strip Steaks were cooked perfectly. The carrots on the side were the best I've ever had. And the Tiramisu Wedge dessert was decadent. Overall a great night at Andy's Jazz Club!
Great date night! The bands were amazing and it was a relaxing night.
10$ par personne a l'entrée , aller prendre un entrée ou dessert mais je ne vous recommande pas de souper
I don’t like that they charge admission even if you are dining there. The food/drink is also overpriced. I had the salmon, and it was over cooked but still good. I would just expect better for what it cost. Cocktails were just okay. Worth checking out though if you haven’t before because it is a unique experience, and we had fun.
Celebrating a pre New Year’s Eve date night. We made our reservation about three weeks ago so we would not be turned away. The moment we entered the building we knew we were in a good place to eat and listen to live jazz. There was a small cover charge. We were seated almost immediately and our table was literally in the middle facing center stage. We got a chance to hear two groups; a quartet and a trio. They were different yet were right on. We loved the ambience of the house. The wait staff was energetic and helpful. The food was eclectic and yummy. We shared a crab cake and a wedge salad. After that we went our separate ways. All in all it was a great evening. We are looking forward to our return in the summer.
Service was great and the food was much better than any of us expected based on other reviews. Our server was attentive and didn’t rush us and the kitchen was fast. We will decide be going back!
We visit Chicago once or twice a year, and Andy's is always part of our getaway. The jazz is tops, and the food and drinks reasonably priced and excellent. Mary & Peter Madden, Rhode Island
Great night, superb music and good ambience. Service was really good too!!
My husband and I went to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary by going to a jazz club for the first time. The food was wonderful so was the entertainment I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to have a good time.
If you enjoy great live Jazz music, then Andy's is the place to be. The musical talent is outstanding and the atmosphere is both romantic and energetic. The food is average but the bar mixes some good drinks.
If you like Jazz, this is a great stop. Great music. We are definitely going back Soon.
We came to Andy’s for the Sunday jazz jam. Wow. Great time. My son got to play drums with the band. He loved it. We will be back again. Vicky was our server and we had a large group of 8. She was great and spot on. Thank you.
Andy’s was recommended by a friend who was raised in Chicago. Our goal was to hear some great jazz and we were not disappointed. The Sunday afternoon jazz quartet led by Charles Heath was excellent. I wish we could have stayed on for the jam session because the folks gathered looked like they were local and knew what was good. Food was actually pretty good for a club. I don’t think you should go for the food as a priority, but the jazz was top notch.
awesome music, staffs, interior! amazing place never seen in Chicago!
It’s a great and relaxing venue! Loved the atmosphere and the service. A few more or different menu choices would be great.
Excellent ambience, and great food. Perfect for a Friday night out, or a date.
Friday night early show $15 cover. This is a very accessible place if you’re not familiar or comfortable with live music or jazz. The music and vibe are generally very relaxed. The food is a little bit better than barfood but it’s nice that they offer a menu so you can eat and enjoy the show. I would recommend anyone who likes live music or is interested in jazz to come to Andy’s.
Food was good. A little high but that’s just Chicago prices. For cover charge it is cash only. They do not have an ATM. They worked with us and put the cover charge on our bill, but they probably would of preferred cash. It is small so whenever their is a live band it can be loud if you sit close to the stage. The service was a little slow which I did not understand but i don’t know the stuff going on behind the scenes.
Absolutely love this place - been going here for years and they never disappoint!
Great food, great service, and great jazz! Thank you for keeping our American art form alive and vibrant!
Totally enjoyed the evening. Very personal and intimate setting. Had a great table 2 rows away from the front of the stage. My wife's burger had a flavorful char broiled taste and my parmesan chicken and pasta was well prepared and good. Sampled a few cocktails, Manhattan and old Fashioned, and I thought they were good as well. Entertainment was excellent. Really like this place. Go, you won't be disappointed.
We loved Andy's! Eccellent music, friendly vibe, good food.
Visited Andy's for the first time to celebrate a birthday. Had a wonderful time - great music, great food and great ambiance. I would highly recommend it - made for a wonderful date.
This was the perfect way to end our trip. Jazz in Chicago! The band was outstanding, paired with the perfect visual atmosphere, and great food.
Needing cash at the door is unconvienient. Otherwise I have been in your club the third time and will possibly come back.
Amazing setting performance and food. Cost is very high but no regrets
Very good food, good service, great music and vibe. Really enjoyed our experience at Andy’s. Staff was very friendly, from doorman to hostess to waitress. Keep in mind there is a cash cover at the door. Definitely will be back!
Perfect place for a dinner with jazz. The band was really good. A pitty that your table is booked only for 2 hours.
Great music, good food. Great time. We will go again.
Traveled from Kansas City to Chicago with my daughter to get a Spanish visa for study abroad. We found a gem in the rough with Andy's Jazz Bar. It was the highlight of our trip. She is a symphonic flautist and we both appreciate music. Each musician in the Andy Brown Quartet displayed mastery on their instrument. Together they fused to create an excellent performance. We loved the small setting and intimacy of the venue. We expected the food to be mediocre. I ordered the short rib with mashed potatoes. It was far above average and I enjoyed every bite. My daughter ordered the Parmesan Chicken, and while not as good as the short rib, it was good. Prices were acceptable and service was average. Host and doorman were also really helpful with all of our questions. Loved it. Thank you for keeping jazz alive in Chicago.
