We always eat at Andrew's when we visit the casino. Typically a good experience.
I had a considerable gift card & my daughter and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner with a nice bottle of wine.
Ordered a steak medium. It came rare and ridiculously over salted. When paying premium prices for a meal I expect premium quality food and unfortunately Andrews missed the mark. Lobster tail and jumbo shrimp were supurb as was our service. The waiter walked us through every dish and suggested a good wine. I will be continueing to go elsewhere for my steaks.
1st time visit, definitely won’t be the last
Great experience and fantastic meal.
We were visiting from out of town to run a local race. We wanted a nice meal and still be able to dress casual. Andrews met the challenge. Great place.
Loved the meal, the five (5) of us sat at the bar for full service. The restaurant restroom was well kept and private away from the casino floor. I highly recommend the steaks, as they were among the best we have eaten. In general, Pittsburgh has some really friendly people, except Steelers t-shirts being worn for dining by casino patrons is not preferred.
We went to Andrew's for their last Picnic on the Patio Thursday event. Unfortunately they did not seat anyone on the patio because they thought it was going to rain (which it didn't, so that was disappointing). But the food was absolutely delicious and the price was great for this event! Plus our server was wonderful. We will definitely come back for more Thursdays next year!
We selected from the special Thursday "picnic" menu. This is a select entrée list fixed price and both economical and delicious. Plenty of food, salads and sides and dessert. The sliced filets were ample in portion size.
Andrew's has become largely impersonal and the service has diminished the last couple of times we've been there. The menu has also gotten smaller and offers less variety. our food was cooked well enough but was uninspired and not worth the price point when equally priced places like Hyde Park are right around the corner and always excel in all categories. Unless your primary purpose is to go to the casino, you can do better elsewhere these days.
very much enjoyed the steak ---prepared to perfection---running late but no problem holding our reservation--thanks
The lobster tails had no taste at all. I couldn’t believe I had to put salt and pepper in the butter!! My girlfriend had a filet that was so overdone and the baked potato was brown!!! Not a good experience!!
One of the best meals out that we’ve had in a while!
Was a disappointed in the Filet Steak, I don't like the outside charred and Filet should not be charred. Taste was not close To Prime or Choice. The best was desert just wonderful. Way over priced.
Our server was incredible. Her recommendations were spot on. The food was phenomenal, as well as dessert.
Worse meal we had at Andrews and mgmt could have been more responsive.
Awesome Experience with great service!
Excellent ... Can't wait to go there for dinner again!!
The lobster Mac & Cheese was good with lots of lobster. Portion was bigger than I expected for the mussels and was good for the scallops. However we were not impressed with the flavor of the mussels or the pasta that went with the scallops. The scallops were overvalued, but the value of the mac & cheese and the mussels was fine. Had expected a better quality of food. Also, did not expect it get so much noise from the gaming side.
Normally I do not write reviews. But I felt compelled to write this. I won’t be back. The food is way overpriced for what you get. The restaurant sits next to a very smoky musty smelling casino. I would recommend anyone to go to Hyde Park for a special occasion. When I made the reservation through open table, I did inform them that it was for her birthday. It was never acknowledged. Hyde Park blows this Place out of the water.
I have gone to Andrews Steak House for many years and never had an issue........I had 2 friends come in from out of town and I was raving about how good Andrews was so when they where here I took them to Andrews.
It was Me my wife and my friend and his girlfriend. My wife absolutely loves the crab cakes. Gets them every time. She got the crab cakes again this time but halfway through eating one of her crab cakes she seen in the garnish on the plate was a big live bug!!!
She was totally turned off by this and not to mention my friends were as well!!!! I was so embarrassed after all the raving me and my wife made about this place, and there was live bugs in the food.
All they did for us was take the crab cakes off the bill and they didn’t seem to concerned about it and said...... “at least you know we have fresh ingredients” and kinda laughed it off.....
The least they could have done is given my wife a free meal.....this was her appetizer so none of us even had our food yet and everyone was turned off from eating our steaks once they got there because of this experience.
Like I said, we come there all the time and really enjoy Andrew’s, but this was just unacceptable to have a live creature in her food and it be treated like it wasn’t a big deal.
I attached a picture of it
Our waitress was beyond phenomenal and the food was excellent.
The service is always very good, we normally have to send our steaks back to get cooked more/less. I'm not sure why they can't get medium right. They always fix the issue and the food is very good.
Another great meal! Always a great experiance!
Perfect. note: the salads are large so, if you get one then split a vegetable and a baked potato with your steak. Steaks were perfectly cooked. Gus was our waiter who was very attentive but not obtrusive.
Everything had balsamic vinegar on it — drenched & overpowering.
My dad’s strip steak was tough & looked more like a roast.
My husband and I had filets - great on inside but outer edges inedible (hard & tough)
No mention of vinegar on menu.
Disappointing & overpriced.
We’ve frequented Andrew’s before as this is our choice for dining when in the casino. The food is over price for the value. We have dined at other equal establishments and similar foods were a tab bit lower in cost and quite tasty. Our meal began with the crab cakes with the sauce appetizer which were delicious but only two for the cost?? Adding one more would justify the cost. At other restaurants we’ve received the same portion but four as an appetizer. My husband enjoyed the shrimp cheese pasta but felt it was over priced for ravioli. The scallop meal was a little too salty. The season topping was too heavy rendering lots of water needed to get through the meal. A generous portion of scallops for the cost. Our waitress was great in advising on menu and inquiring at appropriate times of our needs.
we had reserved a table either outside or at the window. A man whose name I did not get, but acted like the manager, said it was raining (IT WAS NOT - we had just come in from outside - it was lightning) and we could not sit outside, even though there was at least 1 table with people who were there and remained there from our arrival at approx 7:40 PM through the fireworks display. I ordered French onion soup. There was a lot of stringy, fatty beef in it (never had French onion soup with meat in it before) no melted cheese on top; (sparse amount of little balls that looked like cheese curds floating about the soup: and a puff pastry on top) It was tepid at best. I cannot eat red meat, so I could not eat it. I pushed the bowl away and we never saw our waitress. Another winter who has waited on us several times when we dined (as paying not comp'd customers) was the one who told us the following: I was told it was Andrews version of French onion soup and the menu said "braised short ribs" on the description. I erroneously had assumed that was what it was made with, not that it would have meat in it. My partner ordered wall eye which was good - there was a nice sauce on it, but it was so heavy, frankly, the fish could have been just about any firm white fish. The filet was approx 5 oz; there were 4 green beans; about 8 small white round things (could have been onions??) and maybe 6 pieces of mango. The cost was I think, $32. Restaurant was not crowded at all, VERY disappointed. Treated very rudely and agressively by the person in apparent authority. Likely will not ever go to the casino again and certainly NEVER to Andrews
The service was great! My husbands strip steak was raw and very tough. That’s the first bad meal that we’ve had there... so I will go back
Loved the menu choices, food preparation, dining ambiance, & service.
Wasn’t impressed. Crab cakes were burnt on the bottom. Shrimp crab ravioli was average.
This was the worst steak I ever had. I should have complained immediately. As soon as my wife saw the steak she thought “here we go”. Looked like the grill had broken and they microwaved the steak. It was gray and tasteless. We dine out 4 or 5 times a week so I consider ourselves experts. Our suggestion try Hyde Park also on the North shore. Prices are similar, however the food is so much better. I brought my Alexander’s steak home and even the dogs weren’t excited about their leftovers.
The filet steak was excellent. The beet salad was a little disappointing. It was tasty but lacked beets. I expected whole small beets or sliced in quarters or halves, and maybe some goat cheese. It had only small diced beets and not many.
We ABSOLUTELY love Andrew's!! They take special care of each and every patron! This has become our go to spot for special occasions! We have never had a bad experience there! I would strongly recommend!!
We enjoyed ourselves with one exception.
It was my 70th birthday and I was wearing a black cocktail dress and the white napkin got white lint all’s all over my dress.
I had to take it to the Dry Cleaners!!
I would recommend you have black napkins.
Food and service was great as usual. Waitstaff are attentive. Nice view of the river from the window tables. I had the salmon. It was moist and delicious. Salads and desserts are large enough to share.
Very good service and good food. Always an enjoyable experience here.
The waitress was friendly and gave good recommendations. We will definitely come back when we are visiting Pittsburgh again in the future. The mac n cheese was great...keep it on the menu.
The service was very good. This is the fifth time I have been here and cannot rate this better than a 3 out of 5. Food is average tasting and small portions. Overpriced and need more of a variety. Cocktails overpriced too for amount you are served.
