Andrew Michael Italian Kitchen
Food was delightful; the place unfortunately smelled like sewage.
For a fancy date night, my wife and I were excited to get spoiled. When the smell hit us right as we arrived, it was hard to focus on anything else. I even mentioned it to my wife when we sat down and she agreed. My poker face wasn't very good and when the manager asked our feedback on the way out, I shared about the smell. He was surprised by the smell and brushed it off sadly. I've since asked others and had people tell me they've smelled it too. Sadly, this alone will keep me from choosing it as a big night out date night.
Amazing restaurant. must try the scallops!! all small dishes are incredible!!!
I have been at this place previous years and the food was perfect also the service. Never really had a complain.
Until this visit happened, the food was just ok. The flavor was just like any other restaurant nothing special as it used to be . The service was poor our waiter keeps forgetting to bring us food, bread. He had us waiting for so long.
Waiter was very informative and explained each dish. We had the pasta dishes and they were very good. Would love to see some veal dishes. Not very many parking spaces but they do have valet.
Fantastic place, intimate atmosphere. Very relaxing.
I have yet to go to an A|M restaurant and not fall completely in love with the offerings. Every dish we were served was a feast for the eyes and made us want to order seconds! This is definitely a special occasion spot, but we will for sure be back!
I couldn’t wait to have dinner at Andrew Michael Italian Kitchen after having dinner at Hog and Hominy a few times and owning the Collards & Carbonara cook book ... dinner was amazing and Michael our server was incredible !
I had some perfectly prepared gnocchi, and the best octopus ever! My drink was spectacular as well. The menu on Open Table was the previous one, and the Halibut I came for was not to be found. However, by the end of the night I left, and immediately made reservations to return for some more octopus!
Had an incredible experience! The food was amazing and service was fantastic!
Extraordinary meal! The octopus was a truly special dish. A&M Breakfast was very tasty and unique. Delicious fresh pork rinds.
We enjoyed the lamb as well! They have a nice happy hour with snacks and the sticky toffee pudding was top notch.
The entire staff was highly professional, friendly, and warm without being overbearing. They also did a wonderful job accommodating my tree nut allergy. Highly recommended for any occasion!
Our first visit. Really enjoyed the octopus appetizer and the potato gnocchi. Mickey was our server and he was excellent. Cocktail menu is superb as well!
The night was perfect! Could not ask for a better environment:-)
My husband, my 21-year-old daughter, and myself went to Andrew Michael’s for the first time on Saturday night. It took us over a week to get a reservation in the early evening (6:15pm) as we like to eat somewhat early. When we entered the restaurant, we noticed there were very few people there, even though when I changed our party of 2 to 3 it gave updated us to a 9pm. I called the restaurant directly, and they called me back and told me that we could have three people at 6:15. We ordered the blue crab cakes for an appetizer, and our entrées consisted of shrimp scampi, chicken parmesean, and veal parmasean for our entrees. We ordered drinks, my daughter and I split Tiramasui and my husband had Creme Brûlée. Nothing really outstanding except for the crabcakes. The tiramisu and crème brûlée were very good! Of the 3 entrées the shrimp scampi was probably the best. Service was excellent, and we stayed an hour and 15 minutes, and only 2 more tables arrived. That was the enigma - why so hard to get a reservation at a restaurant when it was sparsely attended? We won’t be back, as there was nothing outstanding about the food or atmosphere.
The chicken liver toast was great. Also the pasta dish with duck ragu, fabulous. And we had the quail was real good too. Drinks are unique which adds fun to the evening. Servers are so helpful. A great night
We love Andrew Michael but this time the lamb was tough, $18 glass of wine seemed skimpy, waitress was ok and left our water glasses empty for too long it seemed, and the gnocchi was too heavy on the pesto. Didn’t make us want to return super soon -:)
Our server was very well versed with the menu and provided valuable insight into the wonderful options.
And, the popcorn gelato was amazing!
The service here was very good. Our appetizer was really good, but main course was not great.
Great food and service. WSU or was great to give spotlight in suggestions. Mexafornication cocktail was awesome!
Food is interesting and provides great flavor. Great evening!
Excellent dining. Food and service were great. Gnocchi is the best we've ever had. Cheese plate was great as well as the pork entree. The only problem I had was the restaurant notified the website I booked through that I didn't show up, but I did. Other than that the experience was terrific.
Great! Day before valentines, quick service, romantic atmosphere
Had a booth in the bar as I was late to make a reservation for three and it was completely comfortable. Evan Potts was a knowledgeable and enthusiastic sommelier. Enjoyed our dinner so much that we requested a reservation the next night for six at sister restaurant Gray Canary and Evan made that happen for us. Many thanks for two entirely delicious and delightful dinners. Have also dined at Hog and Hominy, and Catherine and Mary, the other two restaurants of these Memphis chefs and impresarios and highly recommend!
We went for Valentines Day. Everything was wonderful!! My favorite was the Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert!!
Such a great meal, atmosphere and great service, as always!
I came here for a date night with my husband. Our cocktails were phenomenal. Most of our food was delicious but our entrees (scallops and pork chop, respectively) were way too salty. My favorite dishes were the chicken liver toast and the AM breakfast. The pasta was cooked well but not particularly special in any way, still tasty though.
Food was unique but not our taste.
Emily was exceptional!
Wonderful service, food and drink! Micheal was outstanding. Sommelier available for wine questions and paring suggestions. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu!
Truly one of the best dining experiences in Memphis. My wife and I recently dined at Andrew Michael in celebration of my birthday. We both had the Chef's tasting menu with wine pairing. Each dish was perfectly paired with an excellent wine selection and our server did an incredible job explaining the various tastes in each dish and why it was matched with the specific wine.
Service was beyond excellent. Even a slight mishap during the serving of the fish course was handled skillfully.
I look forward to returning soon.
Good was outstanding and once again Amanda did a fantastic job waiting on us!
Celebrating a Special Occasion, we enjoyed our dining experience at AMIK! I had the Stracciatelle and Maw Maw's Ravioli, saving room for the Sticky Toffee dessert, all wonderfully good! My wife had the Scallops, with room saved for the Chocolate Beet cake, both also wonderful! Service was prompt and friendly, complimentary valet parking! Go and enjoy AMIK!
We had a delicious dinner and a wonderful time celebrating a birthday!
Andrew Michaels never disappoints!
Andrew Michael Italian Kitchen never disappoints. It is the flagship restaurant of the franchise which dominates the Memphis food scene with its 5 total restaurants. While the other restaurants can sometimes fall short, Andrew Michael Italian Kitchen is amazing every time. I almost always have the tasting menu and this time, I think has been my favorite.
The food is delicious, the drinks are great, and the service is very friendly. And they cater to all food aversions and special requests which is so refreshing.
Highly recommend and definitely worth the money and the drive for a date, an out-of-town friend, and whatever you have in mind.
Awesome good and service
Evan Potts, the manager was exceptional, he checked on our table several times to see how things wete. Overall great experience for my husband's birthday.
Always a great to experience to dine at Andrew Michael Italian Kitchen. A creative food and cocktail menu, they keep some of their ‘standard’ and popular items but always have new ‘creations’ to try.
Went with a friend for my birthday and the experience was amazing, as usual. The service is superb and the food was delicious.
Great service & food, as always!
Not too keen on the baby crying in the corner, and our server spoke really loudly, so as far as ambiance is concerned it wasn't quite as romantic/cozy as times before, but it happens.
Will be back!
Was great! Super cozy and classy at the same time. Service and food were perfect. Great special occasion place.
