Used to be one of my favorite restaurants but the last two times I've dined here, the chicken has been dry and inedible. I actually thought that perhaps the Chef-owner was not there those two evenings but LO and behold, he came out of the kitchen! Certainly not the reliable high-end dining spot I remember. Boo hoo ...

Lovely authentic chef-owned Italian restaurant with daily unique specials, elegant and attentive service, and a quiet, relaxed atmosphere. Loved the food and the setting. Unlike so many. List places today, Andrea's provided an environment in which it was easy to have a conversation with friends.

We love Italian food and have wanted to try Andrea's for a long time. After receiving a gift certificate from my Brother, we decided to go and take family for my birthday celebration. The first thing we noticed was the fact that it was busy on a Monday. Many of the people there were regulars which was encouraging. The chef came out and spoke with many of them and at times delivered the food himself.

We had several of the many specials that night. The Snapper, Ravioli, Soup D'jour, as well as the Pasta Dishes made with house made pasta were all wonderful. The wine list is extensive and well priced.

All in all a great evening.... we will be back.

At 60+ I have had my fair share of different kinds of ravioli. I had the four cheese ravioli and it by far was the BEST ravioli I have ever had. My wife had the short ribs and it too was fabulous.

Met the owner and saw his passion for his resturant.

I give it a 10+

We loved Andrea's. It was our first time as we were visiting Sarasota. We were running late for the opera and asked to have the food brought out quickly. It was. Service was careful, the owner was very accommodating and everything was fantastic. This is some of the best Italian food we've had. I had the duck ragu and my husband had the gnocchi. Bellisimo! I hope we get a chance to return.

Food was outstanding the service also. Our waiter was very helpful in the selection of the food and the wine. He was attentive, friendly and interesting. We throughly enjoyed our whole experience.

This is by far the best, most consistently good authentic Italian restaurant in the sarasota area! We've been coming here for years. The chef, Andrea, is outstanding. Service is great. Waiters are friendly and helpful. My husband loves the veal dishes. Fish and veggies are prepared to order. And the pasta so fresh .......
I recommend any special. Veal Gorgonzola is a treat! Eggplant appetizer, just thinking about it makes my mouth water.
Enjoy dinner at Andreas, we always do!

Very reliable. Andreas is out of their Longboat Key restaurant which allows even more focus on the original locale. In addition to a fairly broad set of menu options, there were a number of interesting specials. Made it very hard to choose!

Service was very slow. It took about an hour to get the main course. Without being asked, the waiter, probably realizing the long wait said"Sorry, "I'm not in charge of the kitchen". Regarding the food, the appetizer, Cesar salad, was good and the main courses, pasta, were very good. The dessert, creme brûlée, was burned on the top which was soft rather than crusty as it should be. All in all, it was a disappointing experience in contrast to a few years ago when Andrea's used to be excellent.

This restaurant is a gem hidden in a strip center. Best Italian food, cooked authentically. The chef owner is very creative and takes much pride in his food and attention to detail.

Andreas was a fabulous food find for us in Sarasota. The roast pork shank melted off the bones; the spiny lobster on thick spaghetti was just the right spice level and included fresh tomatoes and the lobster was cooked just right. The olive tapenade with olives from Liguria was to die for. The chef and what staff were all attentive and quite ready to talk over our selections. House wines were excellent. A wonderful find!

Went to Andrea's on Christmas Eve with friends. Full house yet could still talk across the table.
We had the Beet Salad and the Lobster Bisque as starters. Wonderful! The Lamb Chops were perfect. Cooked as desired, plenty of them (8) and served with potato and vegetable. Also had the Sea Bass. Beautifully cooked and excellent flavor and taste. Great presentation also.
Had a nice bottle of Napa Cab. Sauv. A good selection of wines from all over the world and priced fairly.
No room for dessert - had to take a to go box because could not eat all on the plates.
Chef Andrea came out to each table and inquired about the meal. He spent time with us discussing the preparation and how he prepared a couple of the dishes.
A good time and excellent food seem to be the norm at Andrea's.

We have found the best Italian food across the country is found in little, obscure strip center locations. Andrea's fits the bill. The unassuming store front opens to a culinary delight. On a not too busy pre-7 pm Saturday night we enjoyed a very good dinner and time. Easy to converse at the table. Attentive and helpful service. Tasty selections. We will be back and hope it is as good or better the next time!

Andrea is back! Now spending full time in his original restaurant, Andrea has quickly restored it to its former excellence with prime ingredients deliciously prepared. In my opinion, this is the best Italian food in Sarasota.

My husband and I know that dining at Andrea's will always be a delight. The food is delicious, the service friendly and professional and the wine list extensive, interesting and well priced. They even have a special summer menu; three courses for $25. Great food and great value! What's better than that?

Very expensive wine list. Food preparation was disappointing at best. The lasagne was dry. The scallops were overcooked. Would not recommend this restaurant at these prices.
