Andrea's Ratings and Reviews
I didn’t know the only option was the gala dinner after 7:00 pm @ $98 / person . There was NO indication about that during the reservation. So when you get to the restaurant you’re stuck. Then we had a 2 hrs wait, had to ask for to go boxes for my kids, that had a party at 10:30 pm and call an Uber to pick them up. NEVER AGAIN!!!
worst Andreas experience ever. I should have known when I called to ask about the limited menu for new years eve. the hostess was so incredibly rude and unhelpful I should have cancelled then. we were sat at exit right near hostess station. we were seated and given gala menus. I was specifically told we could order off of the limited menu before 7:30. Luckily our very overworked server switched it out. He didnt seem to know much about the menu. No one seemed to know what was going on. Table across from us complained multiple times never took drink order. we saw 3 tables walk out. They were not told about gala menu. 1 table was there before 730 and were told they could not order off limited menu. The hostess was incredibly rude. my husband's lamb was so overcooked he could barely eat it. The waiter took my daughter's gumbo to pack it up to go and it was never brought back to the table. I will not be returning to Andreas any time soon. It used to be one of our family's favorite places.
My wife and I had not been here for several years but decided to try it again for a family dinner on New Year's Eve. After being seated, we waited twenty minutes with no waiter ever visiting the table. We only were given some stale bread but never even had a chance to order drinks or food. Plus, the fixed price menu seemed extremely overpriced for what the menu offered. Obviously, we were very disappointed and left the restaurant without a waiter ever stopping by our table.
We went for Christmas diner. We had reservations. It was a limited menu which was OK, but the dishes were pre-prepared and warmed up as evidenced by dry edges on the edges of sauces and gravy. The salad dressing was, not there. There was barely any gravy for the dry duck. The filet was good, with a nice sauce, but pre-cooked. VERY slow service. Mimosa was OK, really? Yep! Deserts were the best part, with very small cups of cappuccino. Overall, we're from out of town and won't be back, to see if non-holidays are better.
This was the Christmas dinner from Hell!! To give it 1 star is being overly generous! If I could have given it zero stars I would have! We had a dinner reservation for 3:00 pm. Once we were seated it took about 15 or 20 minutes before our waitress came to take our order. We ordered the $49.95 one price, select one appetizer, one entree, one dessert. I ordered the ravioli appetizer, chicken Parmesan entree, and the apple pie dessert. My son ordered the ravioli appetizer, duck entree, and the carrot cake dessert. My ex-wife ordered the duck soup appetizer, lamb chop entree, and bread pudding dessert. After sitting at our table without any food of any kind for about an hour and 15 minutes, my son asked if we could have some bread. After about another 10 minutes, still with no bread, he asked again. After about another 5 minutes they finally brought some bread to our table! About 10 minutes later they finally brought our appetizers. They weren't hot. That were barely warm, but we ate them anyway. At about 4:50 pm I got up and went and ASKED if we could just pay for our appetizers and leave as we had been there almost two hours and still hadn't gotten our entrees yet. I explained that we had somewhere else to be at 5:30 pm. Well, after about another 10 minutes they brought out my and my son's entree (not my ex-wife's). About another 5 minutes later they finally bring her entree out. It was now about 5:05 pm. We start eating. Mine was cold. I couldn't eat it. My son couldn't eat his duck either. I told them to box up my chicken parmesan (in the hope that if it was hot that it might be edible) and the desserts. My son sent his duck back and told them not to bother boxing his up. He didn't think he could eat it even if it was hot! I thought there might be some adjustment to the bill because we had TERRIBLE service and two inedible meals, but NO! The bill for the three meals, one beer, and a Diet Coke came to $176! If you ask me, they are stealing money from their customers!
Was very crowded for Christmas but once seated it was calmer and able to have a conversation. The food selection was large but not up to the usual quality because of the large crowds they had to serve. Have had better food there on non holiday visits. Guests liked their meals. Served a lot of food.
It was Christmas Eve dinner with a pre-defined dinner menu and still the service and the food quality were poor meaning that they were not prepared at all for the occasion. Very expensive for a very long waiting and food tasting like frozen food.
We went on Christmas Eve at 7PM. Placed our drink, appetizer, and entree orders by 7:15 PM. Received our appetizers in a timely manner, but the waiter kept forgetting to bring me my glass of champagne. Waited 1/2 hour for my drink. Waited over an hour for our entrees after we received our appetizers. Our waiter was nowhere to be found. I had to get up to tell the hostess we were about to leave. She checked with the kitchen and said our orders were being plated right at that moment. Had to wait an additional 10-15 minutes to receive our food. The waiter never checked on us the entire time to see how things were going. The hostess checked on us after we were almost finished our entrees, and offered us a free round of drinks. But I was the only one who had a drink (no one else at the table was drinking). I saw several tables seated after us, received their meals before us, and they were finished and left long before we left. Terrible service. The food is very good quality but I don't recommend going there on a busy night. We had never had a problem before, but there is an issue with the wait staff on busy nights.
Our waitress was horrible!! Messed up our order several times and came to the table crying about it. The restaurant did nothing to make it right. Our food came to the table cold and there’s nothing worse than cold fish with a thick cream sauce, especially when it wasn’t the sauce ordered. We were gracious and didn’t cause a scene- even tipped the waitress but we won’t go back or recommend it ever again. The only thing I’ll miss are the eggplant crab cakes. The quality is not what it use to be.
It has been many years since we last visited Andrea's of which we had very fond memories. We found the service, ambiance, and atmosphere to be very good for our Sunday get together with friends. The food was quite acceptable but could not be described as outstanding. We will return in the future.
Reserved a table for my Anniversary with my husband and were sat in a private more quiet area but the main area was loud but sounded like lots of fun! It was nice to have our alone private time but next time we are requesting the main room to see and hear the live music. Food was great but the thing we ordered was the bottle of Andrea's wine. It was very nice and not dry, if you are not into dry wines, this is the one for you. We didn't get to meet Andrea the chef like other people have gotten the chance to so hopefully next time. Everything was great!
The food was horrible and over priced. The waitress didn’t know the menu or any of the specials. The food was not fresh. We ordered appetizers and they came out about 2 minutes later because they had been prepared and were cold, on top of tasting horrible. We asked for the manager and he refused to come over and said he was too busy. We ended up walking out and going to a local burger joint where we at least knew we’d get our money’s worth. Don’t waste your time here, go to Vincent’s up the street. It’s amazing.
Andrea's was not prepared to service families on Thanksgiving Day. Holidays are a special time, a restaurant should not take on this task if they are not equipped and staffed to do so. Reservation was for 6:00 PM dinner was served after 7:00 PM. The food was cold and service was poor. My son was given a coffee cup with red lipstick on it. How can the kitchen or server miss a white cup with a huge lip imprint in red? We did not received anything complimentary for our inconvenience.
We were here for Thanksgiving. The food and service was top notch, we were very pleased with the experience overall. The one snag was they ran out of bread pudding but the alternate desserts were delicious as well. Very pleased with our evening at Andrea's.
Enjoyed...very relaxing evening (Sunday). Not crowded so we appreciated the personal service.
Only thing I could have improved is that I noted on my reservation that we were celebrating a birthday, but there was no mention of it by the host or the waiter. I take some of the blame because I didn't say anything, but I wanted it to be a surprise for my son and he would have heard or seen me saying something.
Great Italian restaurant in the heart of Metarie. Restaurant provided last minute limo service for pick up from our hotel. The owner Andrea, was very accommodating in both the service provided and stayed open late for my family to dine and relax for our anniversary. The food was fresh, and was prepared with the heart. The menu was full of great dishes to chose from and our waiter Santino made great recomendations on seafood. This is a classy restaurant and you get what you pay for, so don't expect Olive Garden prices. Highly recommended for a nice dining, real Italian experience.
Andrea never disappoints! The crabmeat ravioli is to die for and the rigatoni carbonara is delish but rich. This is one of FEW restaurants where you are not rushed and the service is excellent. It is nice to eat in a quieter atmosphere too. The decor may not be HGTV but I come for the food and service. Chef Andrea always visits the dining room to thank the patrons for coming. He rocks along with his salmon entree. Will continue to be repeat customers.
We drove into New Orleans and stopped for a late night dinner at Andreas'. We were greeted by Andrea himself. The service was great, some places for after 9 dinner rush you and are cleaning up around you, you feel in their way. Not Andreas', we felt relaxed and the food was great! The atmosphere were very nice as well. Great place. They have a separate bar area with jukebox music and bar food, people were dancing and having fun, we noticed as we were leaving.
Four senior-citizen friends had lunch at Andrea's. Food was good, ambiance was good, service was good. We enjoyed our meal and had coffee afterward. I think price was average for this level of restaurant, although being seniors we have to be careful with our money and not too extravagant. To us, this is a "special occasion" restaurant and not someplace we could eat every day. All-in-all, an enjoyable experience.
