Andies Restaurant - Andersonville Ratings and Reviews
First time at Andies on 1-18-17 and I was very pleasantly surprised. My 2 companions and I decided to eat off the appetizer menu and found everything to be delicious. The baba ganoush is smoother than what I am used to but with great flavor. The fried calamari was about the best I've had and even after 10 minutes or so being on the table, it remained nice and crispy. The saganaki was flamed and had a nice crust, we ate it on the pita triangles that were complimentary to the table. We also had the feta and olives and ordered a risotto dish to share. Wednesday was 1/2 price off glasses of wine, which was a nice surprise and one diner had a pomegranate sangria which was very good. I am looking forward to the next time I can dine at Andies. We also had a very sweet and friendly server, Aysha.
This is more like a tourist destination than a dining experience. There are way too many things on the menu -- a little of this, a little of that. The meat dishes taste like everything was frozen and thawed out. The crab cakes do not have the faintest taste of crab -- lots of breading. The safest bet is to order vegetarian. That food will seem the freshest, but not particularly identifiably anything. Tastes are a poorly-blended hodge podge of random influences . As if a mad scientist got loose with the spice drawer.
This was my first visit to Andies. The food was outstanding ( I had the filet mignon kabob) and the portions were huge. Our server was always on top of taking care of us. And when we were done, the manager or owner (i'm not sure) came by to make sure everything went well with dinner. That was a nice touch. I'll definitely go back.
Our service was extremely slow which wasn't a huge problem since we weren't in a hurry but it was a little frustrating to always be waiting. On the other hand, when we were deciding between eating indoors or outdoors, they offered to open the doors next to an indoor table so we had the best of both worlds.
This was our second time at Andies and we again loved the food and the service. Well worth paying to park to eat here. We come from the suburbs when we have an outing in Chicago to attend. It is the perfect opportunity to get really good Mediterranean/Greek food. I had the spinach and mushroom crepes and my husband had the NEW moussaka with meat. We also enjoyed a wine flight of delicious fruity white wines. The food is perfectly spiced/seasoned and nicely presented. Portions are large and the prices are very reasonable.
The staff is very friendly and cordial and attentative - attractive and pleasant atmosphere.
Loved the food! We ordered the dip sampler as an app; it was delicious! The humus and babaganoush were good; the red harissa dip was amazing!! As mains we had the Tunisian seafood tagine and trio of kabobs; both were excellent!!
Our server Derrick was very attentive without being overbearing; great!
Overall; really good experience. Thx; we will be back when we're in the area.
Really enjoyed Andies, the Baba Ghanoush was excellent. Server was attentive, explained the menu and made suggestions. I happen to love Greek Chicken and what I received was not what I expected. Menu says that it is baked and broiled so I expected a browned crisp Greek Chicken. What I received was gray and seemed to have been boiled, it was not to my liking. Also, roasted potatoes were barely roasted, more like boiled. We were guests and did not want to diminish a lovely dinner so did not send it back. The other entree's looked good and everyone enjoyed their meals. This is just a heads up that if you like Greek Chicken, this may not be the place to have it.
What a let-down Andies was. The menu was absent the more usual Greek dishes we expected from a restaurant which comes up under "Greek" in Open Table, and the waitress had never heard of souvlaki when we asked. The feta cheese was akin to American cheese of my youth--weird texture and absolutely no flavor. That was the theme of the entire meal: no flavor. The best thing we had was the dill rice which came as a side
The waitress was pleasant if inattentive, the ambience okay. We didn't stay for dessert. Not a place we'll go back to ourselves and certainly not one we'll recommend.
Me and my boyfriend love this place.
We have gone to dinner here maybe 3 or 4 times in the past couple of months.
I usually stick with my kabobs but this time I has the artichokes.
they were phenominal. The rice is always great.
My boyfriend had his bryianni again, he loves this dish.
The tiramisu was EXCELLENT!!
Cassandra, our waitress for the second time was great like last time.
The owner's son even went around and asked how we were doing.
The service here is always excellent.
We never have to look around for a bus boy to get more water even though they give you a water jug..
We love this place and will be coming back very often.
Got together for dinner on a Sunday. Great food for our vegans as well as our meat lovers. Delicious aromas, friendly server, warm, quiet, and cozy ambiance. Even though Andies is a large restaurant, all the table feel like that, and no tables are lined up next to each other--so you can talk in private with your friends.
I was there with a friend for Easter Brunch. Some of the items that were out needed to be filled more promptly. We only got one glass of champagne which I thought was cheap, at least one more glass would had been nice. Our waiter, Dominick was horrible. He was not attentive and we had to look for him twice to come to our table which made our dining experience very poor. He needs to me trained better on customer service. Overall, food was good, but not great.
