Andaluca Ratings and Reviews
In Seattle for the first time on a business trip and had no idea where to eat. Picked this place based on reviews and was not disappointed. The food was delicious and I especially liked the Clam with Chorizo tapas. Another memorable tapas was the cucumber and raw tuna dish the chef had prepared for his battle on Iron Chef. This place is definitely worth a try. I might even go again before I leave Seattle.
Tired of screaming to be heard over the 'energetic' noise levels of hip spots? Try Andaluca! You can converse in normal tones and enjoy wonderful food, attentive service, and comfortable surroundings. It is our go-to place for a romantic evening or chance to catch up with friends. The menu uses fresh seasonal ingredients, and the tasting menu of small plates lets you sample the stars of the menu without wondering what you missed. The wine list is thoughtfully chosen to complement the food, and Andaluca proudly features and promotes Washington wines. Service is friendly and attentive without being obtrusive. As I enter, I feel the day's stress melt away and can't help smiling.
My lunch was exquisite! I had the Mediterranean special lunch, a delicious fruity gazpacho, perfectly cooked crisp scallops, beef skewer, and the cheesecake/fig dessert. Couldn't be better, and with impeccable service. The ambiance is lovely, soft lighting and quiet enough to hear one's companion's conversation.
I've been here many times now... and I love this restaurant!! The food is amazing and fun... the staff attentive, and they are great with being mindful about schedules for Theater goers. I keep bringing friends to this place, because I want my loved ones to enjoy a unique dining experiace.
Back to back Friday nights, beef tenderloin the first time with several appetizers to start, all were fabulous. This time we had the the chesse and asparagus appetizers with the Paella for our main course. My date & I shared everything and it was a fantastic experience. the waiter was attentive but recognized we were having a romantic evening so he laid back and swooped in with impecable timing to ensure our needs were met. The saffron really brought out the flavor of the fresh seafood and muscles in the Paella, it was outstanding, and a great dish to to share with someone youi care about. I love this place! Chef Johnson is a master of delivering a fine dining experience with world class food!
Food was excellent but service was extremely, extremely slow. My steamed clams with chorizo had yummy flavor but arrived slightly less than lukewarm. All in all the food was very good and our out-of-town guests were very impressed and pleased. The waiter was pleasant and attentive but it would have helped if he would have given us a heads up about the kitchen back up.
Friday reservations, romantic spot, took my date had gazpacho trio appetizer incredible depth of flavors (we really enjoyed sharing these), and grilled asparagus (again fresh, well prepared, and well seasoned. Service was attentive and on point, our waiter recognized it was a romantic dinner for us and laid back, keeping a watchful eye on our water and Sangria levels. (The Sangria was fabulous!)We shared the beef tenderloin, it was prepared perfectly, with garlic mashed potatoes, grilled pears, and a tasty reduction. Can't wait to get back and try some other menu items, they all looked so good.
Terrific and diverse menu. The pre-fixed 3 small plates, soup/salad, and dessert for $38 was great. Go with a group and each order different things then sample from each others'. Despite the label of 'small plates', each one was fairly generous, and all together they are very filling. Also, 15% off bottles of WA wines is a great deal.
