Anchovies & Olives is an Italian seafood spot in Capitol Hill with a menu made for sharing. Come on a date.
Gonna miss that place
Wonderful service and the good was amazing. Highly recommend the Pork Cheeks as well as the King Salmon. Waiter was on point with his wine recommendations. Really too bad they are closing it at the end of the year.
Several of our plates were underseasoned and bland. Also, something that I ate made me pretty sick.
Great server, but food just wasn’t great. Odd sunchoke dish was like potato salad. Clams in pasta were small and not very flavorful. Sorry, but just wasn’t as good as it used to be.
I usually love Anchovies and Olives, but this time, not so much. Two of our dishes included King Crab, and both were fishy tasting. The crab was not the quality you expect from Nathan Stowell.
Excellent experience once again, food was fantastic! The gnocchi, albacore and rigatoni were exceptional 👌🏻
This place has gone downhill. Everything was mediocre from the service to food.
This is my very first review for the restaurant.
The worst food ever and wasting money .
So dissapointed.
Disgusting smell on pasta.
One bite and We turned back the food to server but he didn’t even ask us what’s the problem on the food .
Seattle restaurant week- get the risotto 🔥🔥
The share plates were great and interesting. Mains were not exciting at all but ok.
Tall waiter was really rude and dismissive, killed the whole experience. Wouldn't ever return.
Everything was perfect. We had Branzino and Rock fish and they were delicious like the appetizers we had.
The service was really good.
We had a quiet date with time enough to enjoy our meal and talk. We don't like other restaurants that you are rushed to finished your dinner within an hour.
Food was mediocre at best.. very pricy and winelist very limited!
James C was an excellent wait person. Very friendly and knowledgeable.
Food was very good, very reasonably priced happy hour menu.
Would definitely return.
The food was amazing and the service was the best! A must do if your looking for the special touch for an occasion!
The food was exceptional, very flavorful. Service was excellent! Recommend for everyone to try.
Food was bland and nothing special. Felt like it came out of a cold food case instead of freshly prepared.
Good food, expensive, loud, and moderate service. One item we ordered did not come. Getting our wait person's attention was difficult. For the price, I would expect better service.
Not as great as I was hoping - price didn't meet quality either. I love Ethan stoles and this was my first time here -- oysters were disgusting and halibut was super bland. Had a good time tho and the staff was excellent - nice space.
We celebrated my Aunt's 79th birthday, shared small plates, the food is so fresh and authentic, we love the gnocchi!, everything so tasty, and the service is top-notch, atmosphere has a relaxed, cool vibe, all making for a wonderful, positively memorable evening
Food and service were good. Some dishes had more value than others in terms of taste vs. cost.
Excellent, creative cuisine and knowledgeable, proficient staff.
The food was great. The staff's knowledge was excellent. Service was great. The surroundings were nice. I was very pleased overall.
Really nice setting but I wasn't feeling the food. A bit flavorless if you ask me. But the server was well informed about what was on the menu.
Food and service were good. Previous service here(months ago) was rude and unwelcoming but I see new staff (mostly women) and they were welcoming and we were seated without a wait. Good ambience and small plates were excellent.
On our visit to Seattle, Anchovies & Olives was a highlight. The food was inventive, but approachable. The dining room and outdoor seating are comfortable and welcoming. The service was outstanding even with extremely hot weather!
Our second time eating here. We loved our food, wine selection and service. Pastas both especially terrific. Wine list was fun Northern Italian centric but slightly high in price(IMHO). Service was A+ from start to finish. We will come back again.
We had a fine time. A concise and seasonal menu with knowledgeable servers.
Amazing seafood! Creative dishes. Such a great culinary adventure!
great happy hour deals - delicious overall - strong drinks
Great place, amazing food ! ! ! We went on a date with my wife and each dish was better than the previous one.
Location is unfortunate, felt like it was in a shopping center strip in a residential area. The space is cool. Everything was just okay - service, drinks and food. Nothing bad about our experience but felt disappointed that it was 1 of the 3 dinners we had planned for our trip to Seattle.
We have been going to Anchovies and Olives for a few years now. It started as an Anniversary restaurant recommendation and we have made it our tradition to go there for our wedding anniversary every year. We also go through out the year as well given the changes in menu which, we cannot miss out on.. AMAZING FOOD and DRINKS!! A must do if you are in the area.
Best copper river salmon I have anywhere plus great sharable appetizers
Hadn't been there for awhile. Took a good friend from out of town, who wanted a seafood experience. We were seated under a speaker. Had to ask to turn it down, which they did. Then the sun started setting, directly into our eyes. They pulled the "shade", but admitted it didn't really block the sun, so when we tired of squinting, we asked to be moved, which they did. We ordered 3 seafood items to share, all of which come with the same side- a small salad. Otherwise, the fish was simply pan seared (halibut and salmon filets) or baked (branzino). Essentially, no seasoning or garnish other than salt and pepper. The branzino was fine, nothing special. The halibut was also fine, pretty plain, and the salmon was not fresh. It tasted fishy and we couldn't finish it. We ordered 2 side dishes- pea pods with mushrooms, which were good but small (4" square plate), and the green beans which were okay but cold. We mentioned the bad salmon that we didn't finish to the waitress when she picked up the plate, but she didn't say anything or offer any compensation. We were disappointed, as we always found this restaurant to be inventive and reliable in the past. We will not return.
My boyfriend and I enjoyed everything about our experience. Our waitress was so friendly and knowledgeable. The food was wonderful we got oysters, sunchokes, bread with tapenade, gnocchi, and the spaghetti. We ate way to much because it was so good!
We will be back!
I've been meaning to try A&O for quite some time... Why did a wait? It was. Excellent! Lovely Italian influenced seafood. Great oysters on the half shell and a fish crostini that is to die for.
Let's get the one negative out of the way so we can get to the terrific: the music is too loud--which is at odds with the comfortable and quietly attractive, spacious layout and look of the dining area itself. The food is delicious and unpretentious, with serving sizes that fit nicely in the space between too much, on one hand, and miniscule on the other. Prices are moderate and standard. The serving staff was...perfect (an adjective I rarely use): Friendly, competent and playful without ever becoming intrusive. (Our waiter was cute, too.) Oh, yeah, they make a killer Manhattan. Go...
We had an awesome experience at Anchovies and Olives! Great ambiance and atmosphere, and great food and service. The fried oysters and the crudo were wonderful. The pastas were even better. We really enjoyed the branzino (served whole). The service was excellent. Everyone was knowledgeable and very focused on making sure we had a great experience. We will certainly come back next time we are in town.
Very good food overall except for large bits of shell in one of the oysters--this really shouldn't happen in an upscale seafood place. Attentive service. The one minor gripe continues to be AWFUL music. It's loud and jarring and obtrusive and does not fit either the food or atmosphere of this restaurant!
The food was fantastic, wine and cocktails too.
The staff is friendly and attentive, but not intrusive.
As usual I felt highly insulted when I got asked for ID. When will this bizarre behaviour finally end?
