Food was good to very good, except the three cheese truffle flatbread, which was very plain, missing any truffle flavor and seemed to be topped with the cheapest grated parm. Service was ok, could be better. I don't think a single finished plate was cleared until we left the table. Service was courteous, at least. Admittedly, I was annoyed that they claimed not to take reservations, even though I had a reservation on OpenTable. It just wasn't a good look for our birthday dinner, kind of embarrassing and awkward. We enjoyed the outdoor area; firepit, giant jenga, giant Connect 4, bag toss, comfy seating, live music. Overall, good.

Food was great, service was good but with the open concept, it was very loud. We sat at a bar height table that was long and wide. With only 6 of us, it wasn't very conducive to conversation. However, as I said the food was great and the service was good so I would definitely go back. Everyone had something different from the menu and we all liked our food selections a lot. I would definitely recommend it.

The staff did a great job of accommodating our group of 7 with short notice, and even opened up a room they don’t normally use for a Friday night. Server was very attentive and made sure we were well cared for with some delicious food. Overall, a very good experience.

Open table took our reservation but when we arrived they were just cleaning up from a funeral celebration and there were no tables EVEN SET up. I think Open table did them a great dis-service as we left immediately for another restaurant.

This is not the Anchorage of old. Very limited menu. Ordered the Ribeye @ $32. I got steak and potatoes (not even a salad or dinner bread). I could have made better potatoes at home.

Not super busy on a Saturday night, but that’s a shame because the service was wonderful and the food was delicious. Yes, it’s not the Anchorage of old, but the pared down menu still has plenty of options and the entrees we ordered were all well prepared. I could eat the succotash under the crispy trout every day. My only criticism is they were playing the same music at the same volume in the bar as in the restaurant. I think a slightly different selection in the restaurant would be better.

was very disappointed in the menu. We haven't eaten here in awhile and were surprised to see so little choices for food. The chief did a great job everyone was happy with their food. Other customers sat down looked at the menu and walked out. You might think of adding more selections to keep customers returning.

We are outside which was very nice. Our server was very attentive and helpful. I ordered the fish tacos and they were delicious. My son and husband ordered the cod dinner and it was only okay. My other son ordered a hamburger with additions and was quite pleased. We ordered two appetizers and they were okay. Both boys ordered dessert, one the bread pudding and the other a chocolate cake- both delicious.

I wasn't very impressed. My husband and I ordered fish and chips. $16 a plate for 3 tiny pieces of fish and a handful of fries. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but we could have eaten elsewhere and received more food for far less money. The only saving grace was our awesome server Laura. She was funny, efficient and knowledgeable but I can assure you, we will never eat here again.

Anchorage used to be a favorite special occasion place for my husband and me. He suggested we go there with a friend. It was our first time back since the remodel. I read several reviews before making the reservation & was a bit leery, as they were all over the map, but tended to be on the negative side. Unfortunately, our experience was on the low end, as well. My friend & I had the red snapper soup. It was good, but they no longer serve it with a bit of sherry, which definitely added an extra dimension, so that was a disappointment. We also had the perch dinner with potato pancakes, which turned out to be two very small pancakes, and an extremely small portion of coleslaw (same size container as tartar sauce). My husband had the all-you-can-eat fish fry. He originally was served two pieces, which were not very hot. Then we waited and waited and waited - even after my friend got up and tracked down our server - for him to get more fish. Eventually, he brought four more pieces, which ended up being too much, especially as my friend & I were already done with our meals. He apologized saying the kitchen was backed up, which we didn't exactly find believable, as it was not very busy - perhaps three or four other tables. Not sure we'll return . . . . . .

We used to go to the Anchorage when the hotel was Hilton. Then they closed. The hotel reopened as a Holiday Inn and the Anchorage is now no way near what it used to be. it used to be a classy place with a good menu, great food and service. Now it looks more like a diner and the menu is one page. I would not recommend it to anyone.

This place is newly remodeled. The chairs are so low and hard that it is impossible to sit long because of back pain. The menu is small and the food was not good at all. I ordered some mozzarella sticks and you could tell what they were. My friend order wings and she said there was absolutely no seasoning on them.

We stopped by the Anchorage for a fish fry this past Friday. We had made a reservation online, but it was obvious that we didn't need it. . When we arrived, there was only one other couple in the restaurant at 5:30pm. The decoration of this place reminded me of someplace back in the early 50's. This restaurant is right on the Milwaukee River with large picture windows looking out over the water. It was clean and our orders were taken in a timely manner. I ordered an O'Doul's non-alcoholic beer, but was told that they didn't offer that brand, nor did the server offer an alternative. When our fish arrived, it was served with the smallest portion of cole slaw I had ever seen. We were also given a half a slice of rye bread without any butter, nor was any butter on the table. I guess that's how they can keep the price down to $12.00 a serving.

Inside was remodeled since my last visit a few years ago. Very sterile. Seats were so low at the tables you were right on top of the plates/food. Outside patio was nice - but inside was cold and uninviting. Food was okay - not stellar, but not bad. I won't go back. Too 'meh'.

My business colleague and I had a very nice lunch. His salad was fresh and healthy, and my salmon sandwich was delicious. The actual restaurant was closed, so we ate in the front common area. No nice view and not as much ambiance as the restaurant, but our server made us feel very welcome and comfortable.

We had made reservations for our first time visit. When we arrived we were initially told the restaurant was closed due to Mother's day set-up. Then we were told they were honoring the two reservations that had been made for the evening. The food and service were good, but it was weird being one of the two tables being served. I do appreciate the reservation being honored. The patio looked very inviting and we plan to go back when the weather is warmer.

My server was very good but the food was mediocre. This was my first visit since the change of owner. The remodel is definitely a plus over the previous - but the menu is now just typical "hotel" restaurant - and very limited. My steak was okay - but the vegetables and baked potato were cold. My soup (potato/cheese) reminded me of when you try to heat up something cheesy in the microwave - the cheese separates and kind of curdles - and it wasn't even hot.

Anchorage changed hands from Hilton Hotel to Holiday Inn. Food was very good and service was excellent. The four of us had great meals and the prices were worth the meals.
