The environment outside is good! People take pictures outside the restaurant. The food is ok,waiter and waitress are friendly. It’s a nice place for people to have leisure friend or family time.
We attended brunch on Father’s Day. The food selection was great and the quality was amazing.
Our server was very attentive as well and so helpful.
Another note, we had a baby with us and all of the servers were friendly and interactive with him which was nice.
Can’t wait to return.
We had a wonderful Father's Day brunch with the family. The food is always good and the service is amazing.
Nice place, attentive servers, food was good, great ambiance!
Wonderful ambience with the waterfall beside the restaurant. We were a group of 5 and we all had lovely entrees. There's an assortment of fish, meat, and vegetarian. Be sure to save room for dessert as there are several home made pies that you won't be able to pass up.
The Ancaster Mill is a delight. Our Sunday brunch experience was lovely, the food was good and the service was truly outstanding. You'll want to make sure you take in the grounds and enjoy the aesthetic of the location.
Our server, Steve was fantastic. He was attentive but not intrusive and really took extra care of our young son who was keen to speak to him. The Sunday Brunch has all the food options you could wish for. I enjoyed the eggs benedict eith bacon and the strawberry and rhubarb pie, whilst my husband enjoyed the oysters and seafood options and the children loved the sweet treats! The view was beautiful and it was nicely laid up. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. I would highly recommend.
We have not been here in a couple of years and though we would go back for our 35th wedding anniversary. We had requested a window seat although we were sat right out in the open with no view. Manager came to our table after a few minutes and apologized for the seats. She promptly showe u to other locations on a window which we moved to. We had not said anything to anyone regarding were we had been sat. Service was great appetizers were good, dinner was also good although my wife's lamb was a bit cool. Two glasses of wine for 40 dollars is a bit pricey. Overall a good experience.
This is a beautiful restaurant in an old mill that has been restored, and the view of the waterfall cascading over rocks beside the restaurant is pretty spectacular. The food and service were excellent and they are able to accommodate dietary restrictions. We will definitely return for another dinner or brunch.
The food was excellent but the portions were very small for the price
We had the lamb for appetizers and the halibut for dinner
I was still hungry when I left
The meal was fantastic and the service great. When we were greeted at the front desk they wished my wife a happy birthday as well as the server. The server gave us some descriptions of the dishes to make our choice. We were seated by the waterfalls for a nice view (as requested). The server also gave my wife her choice of pie and served it with a birthday candle.
Very nice dinner and evening.
Excellent venue for our 10th anniversary. The food was amazing as was the service. The wine pairing was lovely and we enjoyed every bite. Thanks for a memorable experience!
The food was great and so was the service. Everything would have been perfect except for the loud obnoxious man that was speaking loudly I'm sure for everyone to hear about his life and business at the table next to us. Overall a great place and well worth the money.
Anniversary meal with the chef's menu and pairings. This was our second year in a row and it was even better than last! Simply wonderful!
Stunning scenery and very interesting dishes. Vey pricey, but we had two entertainemnt coupons that really helped.
Thank you for the table by the falls. Interesting menu. Yummy.
Never leave comment before, but this place is no nice with good food and beautiful view. Worth trying
Love the environment, food and the service
Good environment. The food was good especially the fresh oysters!
amazing everything ! the hard part will be deciding what to order
My wife and I went to the Ancaster Old mill to celebrate our anniversary and it didn't disappoint. The food was excellent, the setting was beautiful and some of the best service I've ever had at a restaurant
We had a wonderful table right by the waterfall. The service was very good. We ordered the porterhouse for 2. It was a wonderful platter with just enough food for us. Unfortunately, the steak itself was a little tough and overcooked but it wasn't bad enough to make an issue of it. I'm quite sure they would have taken care of things had we decided to complain. Overall I would recommend this establishment to others. A little pricy but you get what you pay for.
My family and I have been to both sister restaurants of Ancaster Mill, Spencer's and Cambridge Mill. Both sister restaurants are way ahead of Ancaster Mill. We went for the Mother's Day brunch. The food is mediocre at best. The carving station looked like the meat came from an econo grocery chain, the prime rib, didn't look like prime rib at all, over cooked and not well seasoned. The crabs legs were the size of pencils, very scrawny. The posters were good but on the small side. Definitely not worth the price $225 for 2 adults and 1 child. On a good note the service is outstanding, but doesn't make up for the food. We went to Cambridge Mill for Easter brunch, it was amazing, I figured that Ancaster Mill at nearly double the price would have knocked my socks off. I wouldn't go back if I were paid to, it was just that bad. They need to take a few lessons from their sister restaurant to do a proper brunch.
Always a wonderful experience, not sure why the cost was higher for Mother's Day since the food was the same as every other Sunday brunch. The manager is A++ very professional and was very helpful. Our waitress was great but they always are. Looking forward to our next visit.
It was an Annoversary, Mothers' Day, and private special event all "rolled into one" and was superb.
A particular word of commendation should go to Madison, Dalton, and Andrew.
best mothers day ever Everyone raved about the food selection
Great Mother’s Day Brunch. Food was great and the ambiance was enjoyed by the moms in our group. We will be back!
We got married at the Ancaster Mill and always enjoy going back.
2nd time having dinner there. Food is still outstanding, and the menu is plentiful, and the service is prompt. For an expensive place, some patrons still bring their kids, and some of those kids were exploring the restaurant, unattended. My date and I were hoping for a more upscale experience that didn't have a heavy family resturant atmosphere.
This restaurant was Simply Amazing and PERFECT for a first date!!!
Loved the location and ambience. We were not rushed and felt well taken care of. The food was delicious. Thank you all.
very good palace！ good service！
Very flavourful and good size portions. Chicken was cooked to perfection and the sauce was delicious.
Food and wine were perfect. The service was top-shelf. I will certainly be back. Old Favourite is as good as I remember.
My partner surprised me by taking me to Ancaster Mill as a spur of the moment because of the lousy weather occasion. It was my first visit; he's been on a few occasions, but not in the last decade. The food was fresh and tasty. My partner had the chicken; I had the halibut - both were delicious. We enjoyed the soup and salad and I loved the lemon meringue basil dessert - very light. The guitarist was excellent, but we had an early reservation and didn't stay too long after the meal. Some diners were dressed elegantly; it didn't matter that we were more casually dressed. It is a special place and I hope we go there again.
Perfect place to linger with friends and enjoy a beautifully prepared and presented meal.
Come here when you have time to enjoy the waterfalls and no rush ambience. The serve staff were pleasant, knowledgeable and attentive without hovering. We enjoyed everything and will definitely be back!
Great Food Great waiter We will be back
We always manage a window seat next to the waterfall Magnificent
Decent but pretty average for the cost. Food quality was not amazing but there was a lot of variety. Also waited a bit more than 15 minutes to be seated after arrival despite a reservation. There were many other people that were waiting a while as well so it seems that we were not an exception.
Positives include a nice setting, good overall presentation and friendly service.
We've been coming for years. It's always been exceptional and we'll definitely be back.
What an amazing brunch! So much variety and everything was absolutely delicious. The ambience of both the inside and outside was spectacular. Can hardly wait to come and enjoy brunch once more!
