Had a wonderful time at the Sunday brunch! Food and service was excellent. We had the pleasure of having a lovely server named Micheal! His humour and friendliness was a great touch to the meal. Will be back!
We had brunch here for our anniversary. The food was fine, but not special, just a mediocre buffet. We could see the waterfall from our table, which was nice, but it was really crowded and noisy when we were there. It was really expensive. Overall, not worth the money.
Lovely surroundings but a zoo for Sunday brunch. Too busy and too noisy and too crowded. Resembles a cafeteria at noon. Sorry
We had a great experience and they accomodated a vegan and a vegetarian nicely. Would return for sure!
The Ancaster Mill, a restaurant with a great view of the "mill creek", has an appealing appearance. Unfortunately, the pleasantness ended upon our being seated. The service was very slow, we needed to request that bread and proper steak knives be brought to our table, and the server failed to check in on us after the entrées were finally brought to us. The menu selections were excessively esoteric - as if the chef was more focused on impressing with his/her creativity rather than palatability. While I do not hesitate to occasionally splurge on a nice dinner, the Ancaster Mill did not provide the expected return on investment. We will not be returning to the Ancaster Mill.
Went here for anniversary date and the experience was like no other. Everything was absolutely perfect. Definitely recommend to everyone!!! If you can, order the Aged rib eye it’s absolutely delicious!!
The best part about this place is the water fall, it’s so beautiful.
We had a wonderful time at the Old Mill celebrating a birthday. The atmosphere is always nice, and the setup for Sunday Brunch is very nice. The food selection is incredible diverse for all tastes. We can't wait to come back again.
Amazing! Great live music on a Saturday night. Very accommodating for families with children and babies.
Every thing was fine except it was a little chilly where we were sitting
The atmosphere both inside and outside this establishment is incredible. A great place for photos and to celebrate a special occasion. The menu is one of quality and a special is offered every night. The staff are very helpful and provide great suggestions. Sounds like their Sunday buffets are what they are best known for! I would recommend and would return there again.
2.5 hours and very slow service. Food was very good. However portions are very small.
The food is locally grown and the presentation is very artistically done. We had a lunch special- ROASTED CHAR withchorizo, spaghetti squash kraut, caramelized onion, fingerling potatoes, chive crème fraîche . It was delicious and filling. The server was very friendly and attentive. My friend and I had a nice visit by the waterfalls. The server was kind enough to bring a special dessert to my friend for her birthday- complete with a lit candle- but we didn't sing!!!
a very enjoyable lunch! Thank you!
The food was well prepared, tasty and wholesome. Apps and mains were good, but not great. For a large party, such as wedding etc, it would be a lovely venue. Server was attentive without being intrusive. Dessert was mediocre. Fillings in the pies were mostly good, but crust was tough.
A final word- the cavernous dining room is wonderful for large parties, the view of the waterfall is breathtaking, but for a small intimate dinner, it is too large a space for my preferred dining experience. Others of course, may disagree. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.
It is very hard to find a place that has a Sunday Brunch Buffet - so when we heard about Ancaster Mill, we made sure to get a reservation. There was such a large variety of food, I don't think anyone would go away either hungry, or dissatisfied. I didn't discover until towards the end of the meal that some drinks (like mimosas) were included in the buffet price, would have been nice to understand that from the beginning. Between us we sampled cheeses, eggs benedict, bacon, country sausage, pierogies, oysters, snow crab, crepes, breads, and desserts (they have tiny portions for desserts, great to sample). Service was very attentive - coffee was frequently refreshed, empty plates removed promptly - and friendly and we did not feel at all rushed. Enjoyed it a lot.
My in-laws had taken my husband and I here for our 6 year wedding anniversary for Sunday brunch. It is located in Ancaster which was a drive from Brampton but worth it. The mill is situated by many trees and the most gorgeous streaming waterfall right next to it. If you have an opportunity to go here I would suggest asking for the waterfall view room when making reservations, because it was stunning. I myself am a huge brunch fan so the options available were amazing. The blueberry scones are a must try along with the macaroons. Our waiter was extremely friendly (unfortunately I have forgotten his name but should be recognized for his service) along with the hostess at the front to the staff making and serving the food. This is a lovely spot for family get together as it is not too noisy, perfect setting for people to talk to one another. I definitely recommend Ancaster Mill and can't wait for another occasion to present itself so that we could go here again. Overall 5 star experience.
I found that it wasn’t what I expected, ambience was nice but, much too noisy, especially for my wife and I that were on a date night. Having a musician wasn’t necessary, my compliments to the chef, food was artistically presented and tasty. The service was professional and polite. I may return , but not first on my mind.
The Ancaster Mill is a gem. Lovely waterfall, running stream, and "old stone village" ambiance. Great food, often locally sourced. Courteous staff. It's a winner, all around.
The food was absolutely fantastic. Loved every bite. Service was excellent and they looked after our gluten free really well. The gluten free marmalade cheesecake was to die for. The gluten free bread was also much better than at many other restaurants. Our table was in the corner by the falls so it was an extremely pleasant dinner. This is not a cheap restaurant but once in a while it is worth the money.
We have been there a few times for weddings, but the brunch (while a little pricey) is off the charts. Service is top notch and the food was amazing!
Excellent Sunday Brunch. Magical winter setting. There was a super selection of food that caters to all tastes, along with a fully attentive staff. Great experience.
Always a pleasure. Best Sunday brunch around. Great staff.
Unfortunately, we were seated in an open busy and noisy area so that ruined our whole dining experience!! Way too loud with music and people surrounding us.
Farm to table menu was creative and delicious. As always service was exceptional. Wait staff greeting staff were all exceptional. Only down side was the lack of service or recognition to the 3 of us sitting at the bar waiting to get asked if we wanted a drink. Our meals arrived hot and cooked just as we asked for. Great sitting next to the windows watching the water flow over the falls. Love the ambiance . We will come here many more times in the future.
Fantastic location, beautiful views while eating dinner. Food was also fantastic, and service good. They were very apologetic, and comp'd our drinks and desserts because we waited longer than normal for our food.
The live music was a little loud. I came to the mill for the waterfall and ambiance. It was a little to much having the music. With the view the restaurant has i don’t think the music is needed
Michael was outstanding, he made my birthday brunch very special. Would definitely return and request him!
Ancaster Mill is always terrific. We were married there and love to go for brunch every year the week of our anniversary.
Excellent on every level! Always impressed! Always return.
Waited 15 to be seated. Food was bland. I remember it being better in the past.
Had a wonderful dinner to celebrate birthday. The food was very tasty and the service was excellent. Highly recommended and its for sure worth a drive to Ancaster. See you soon.
WOW! We thoroughly enjoyed celebrating our first year of marriage at this lovely restaurant. The food and ambiance was spectacular. Our server was very attentive and even went out of his way to make sure our special requests were met. We asked him if we could sit by the fire place and have our dessert even though it was in a separate room of the restaurant. We will definitely be back. Thank you!
We had cornish hen. Felt that there was too much meat and not enough veggies
The food was outstanding and the setting quite beautiful. It is on the pricey side, but the price is matched by exceptional quality.
So delicious, I only wish my stomach was larger so I could try it all!
The service was impeccable, however the food was barely warm. I felt the price was a bit much for what we received.
It was a delightful experience. The food was tasty and the view was beautiful
The service and the view were very good and extremely well done. The food on the other hand was just terrible. Me and my girlfriend got salmon for the start and it was so poorly done and tasted so bad we both couldn't finish for the meals I got a 14 Oz steak and it was good but not for the price I'd expect a steak like that to be 35 at the most it was not that well done for the price. My girlfriend got a mushroom pasta and it was so bad she couldn't finish it. I tried it and couldn't stomach it. I can't recommend this to anyone and me and my girlfriend are both very disappointed with the ancaster mill
Fantastic place. Such great atmosphere and ambiance. Server was fantastic and knowledgeable about all the food which was also incredible. Can't wait to go back for a special occasion.
food was exceptional and the service was beyond what one would expect.
Sorry..wrote that it was my husbands retirement but no acknowledgment on that..didn't really enjoy the food :(
