AMAZING food, great service as always!
Very beautiful outdoor surroundings. Very good food but the margaritas cocktail was awful. Very good service.
We got married at the Ancaster Mill two years ago so we go back on our anniversary never disappointing. Staff and food always exceeds expectations.
The place is beautiful. Their menu is very basic, disappointing actually. I'd go back for the ambiance only. Service was great very friendly and professional staff.
The waitress was very professional, friendly, and accommodating. The restaurant is beautiful and the falls view from the dining area is priceless. The burger I ordered was way too salty. I only ate one half of it. I drank three glasses of water afterwards. They only had four main entrees. They should offer a selection of entrees for people who are experiencing food allergies.
Lovely place. Great to be back. Highly recommend the restaurant
The service was great. There should be more selection on the menu.
First visit to Ancaster Mill, just the weekend of RE-opening from the Pandemic. Good service, special ambiance, for a Family Birthday. Menu was still limited to the Patio 2021 offerings. Burger offering was OK, not special. Steak Filet was excellent. Pasta offering was very good. Tuna was good, but rare on the inside, which I didn’t mind, but some would. Service was friendly and attentive. Room for improvement as they re-emerge to indoor dining service.
We loved the view of the waterfall. Disappointed in the menu (less than 10 options) including one vegan option.
Despite booking a reservation (with a credit card) we were disappointed to be placed in a spill over room away from the main dining area (with the falls). Patrons with a reservation should NEVER be placed in a room that could be a storage room. I asked for the manager and we were moved to the main dining room. We were thankful for the open table that became available however would have appreciated if our reservation was honoured.
The service was excellent. They were attentive, gave good recommendations when asked, and explained the meals well. I was impressed with their cocktail selection as well, they had lots of variety and interesting flavour combinations. And of course, the food was incredible. Amazing flavours and good portions. We ended up ordering an appetizer and a dessert because we couldn't resist, they all sounded so good.
Love the food, service and ambience !! To bad it was raining can’t sit on the patio!!
Beautiful view, historic architecture, and excellent food and service.
Very disappointed with the quality of the food. No taste to the romaine salad and same for the pasta.
Disappointed to say the least.
Long time patron of the Ancaster Mill, unfortunately the quality has suffered in the last year (2020/21). The value is just not there right now, hopefully things will improve as the pandemic subsides.
Small portions. Had the steak….tiny and chewy. Minimal sides included with the meal. Go to the keg. Better food. Better calue
Was a beautiful patio lunch. Amazing location and ambiance.
The outdoor service was OK - but no where near as nice as the service indoor. Some people, that were just driving and cycling by, went past our table to take pictures of the waterfall - so not a very intimate setting. Beautiful location, good service and good food. Once in-door dining is allowed we will be back.
This is the best experience i have had with fine dining on that side. Ambience, food, hospitality everything is beyond a spot
Great restaurant, food and service. If you have not been it is an experience worth having!
Nice place to dine, food is delicious and service is very good
Overall outstanding service and food. Thank you to our server Andrew who was kind and considerate. They were very accommodating to provide us a table that was accessibly friendly for my senior grandparent. We will come back again soon!
Such a fantastic experience, from the food, to scenery to service all excellent.
The noise was the water fall natural noise which we did not mind at all
Great good, great service and an amazing ambience.
Great atmosphere, fantastic patio space with tables right by the waterfall and amazing food. Highly recommended.
We had a great evening. I know most restaurants are featuring smaller menus right now, but it was our anniversary dinner and I was hoping for a nicer dish. What I had was tasty however.
The food at Ancaster Mill is ALWAYS excellent. It is fresh, and of very high quality. Great ambience. The sound, and cool breeze, from the waterfall is special and very unique. Great service as well.
Cozy patio with amazing waterfall view! Great service!
The people there is quite helpful. We took a nice waterfall view table. It's quite nice to have lunch there.
I have become a fan of Chef Taka and his team - the risotto is to die for and the green salad is a symphony of flavors. Each time you get a bit of caramelized onion in the risotto, it is a like little taste gift and then there are the little pieces of tomato. I urge you to try the dish before it disappears off the menu.
My friend had the seared tuna and declared it delicious. The staff are welcoming and do their best to make sure you have a good time. Thank you Chef Taka.
Considering our request on strawberry cake
Perfect restaurant choice for our 10th anniversary!
We loved it were treated amazing by the staff all the food for our lunch was delicious!!
55th wedding anniversary lunch. Everything was perfect.
Our Server Kyle was super with Thundershowers pouring down & Lightning Flashes close by he was just super. Not to mention he got pretty wet because in Hamilton no indoor dining is allowed and we had patio seating with large umbrella's. Thanks a million Ancaster Mill as you made our 6th Wedding Anniversary a reality under these very unprecedented times we currently live in these days!
As always, we had a fantastic experience at Ancaster Mill. Their service was excellent and they happily accommodated us and our 7 month old baby.
We have been to Ancaster Mill for brunch, wedding showers and to dine at the main restaurant. The food and ambience had been routinely top-notch but this last outing was particularly disappointing.
My wife and I attended for our anniversary and were given a nice outdoor table near the waterfall that was cozy and comfortable. Unfortunately there were two events that stained the experience.
Firstly, a dinner guest appeared to be sick at a nearby table and ultimately had to be taken away by paramedics on a stretcher. While this was occurring nearby, Ancaster Mill staff paid no attention and made no mention to the incident, and served us our entrees literally amidst the poor dinner guest being wheeled out.
Then when we attended to the entrees, my wife found that her tuna was completely overcooked (it was well-done instead of 'just-seared'). We waited ten minutes for the server (who was busy dealing with other guests, certainly not her fault) and we apologized for the inconvenience but returned the overcooked tuna.
I thought we were being quite polite and reasonable considering the circumstances but the server proceeded to ignore us the rest of the evening, left my dirty, finished plate for the entirety of the meal for my wife to stare at as she ate her proper entree alone.
And after the server returned to take all of the empty plates away, 15 minutes later she came back with the bill. There was no mention of coffee, dessert (both of which we had originally been planning to partake in) or anything else.
All in all a very expensive meal that left a very sour taste in our mouths. Most likely not coming back.
My wife and I had a great time, very relaxing, nice staff and food was excellent.
We had such a lovely lunch date. Ambience was great and food was fantastic!
