A lovely place to have a special event or intimate dinner. There is a good variety of food items to choose from. The staff is very professional. Also the waterfall makes for a memorable photo opportunity.
The Ancaster Mill is a real treat! We visit for special occasions and are never disappointed.
Ancaster Mill is a gem! Beautiful property and gorgeous restaurant. They have a very dedicated team to make the food and dining experience top notch. Perfect for big events such as weddings and also great for dinners any night of the week or weekend brunch
The service and ambience were the highlights of our visit. The food was good and everyone enjoyed themselves.
We liked the food and service was outstanding
Thank you
Excellent food as expected. Great variety. It was very loud as there were so many people. High price.
Their Brunch is well-known and with good reason - great selection, everything thing is fresh, well-prepared and presented. Service is excellent.
Beautiful venue, albeit quite loud with the large brunch crowd.
Great place for brunch, particularly for a special occasion.
Celebrating 2 birthdays. Everything was perfect.
Amazing food and service. Thank you for taking care of my dietary restrictions (celiac disease), the service team was very knowledgeable and took extra care, very appreciated. I’ve had the pleasure of dining at the Mill on many occasions and never disappointed. Lunch, Dinner and Brunch all wonderful.
Enjoy the brunch every time. Have been coming for years and it doesn’t disappoint. Yes, it’s pricey but you get what you pay for. From the doorman to the wait staff all very attentive. Would highly recommend.
Very well presentation for all variety's of food.Main course kind of limited.
Love it great brunch spot! Only suggestion is having a slightly different price point for guests who don’t want to order alcohol rather than combining the price. Other then that amazing brunch!
Busy location. Spectacular ambiance. Good food.
Valentine’s celebration
It's become a tradition for us to have Valentine's dinner at Ancaster Mill. The food is always good, and the facilities are beautiful, especially with the waterfall. It tends to be crowded, probably since it's Valentine's, and we often get bumped in our seats during dinner. The music seemed quite loud last night as well, which is one of the reasons for my lower score.
Belated Valentines Day Dinner. Amazing high end setting with great food and ambiance. This is a must do experience!!
I attended on Valentine’s Day, and while I understand there are a lot of bookings, I felt that crammed people together too closely. I was seated in the east-wing (left after the bridge) and I felt as if the ambiance did not meet my expectations. After dinner, we took a look at the other side of the restaurant (where the live band was playing), and it was MUCH nicer which made me feel as if we were given an inferior experience. As for the food, we had the land and sea dinner for two. For $60 per person, I felt that the lobster tail was very underwhelming and that the portions in general were below average.
My first time at the Old mill. It was fantastic the food was great. And the service was phenomenal. We ordered the Land & Sea meal for two. One of the lobsters was slightly off and tasted odd. But the steak was cooked to perfection.
While I found the bread rolls to be great, my partner is not fond of olives, a variety of rolls to choose from would be better next time.
Other than these small issues. We had a great time.
I usually do recommend it for friends but it was not its normal experience this Valentine’s day. We had an 8pm reservation which we arrived for at 7:55 and we didn’t get sat until 8:30. Service was also slow and poor. It feels like they have tried to have as many tables as they can to drive profit but they lack the skills to do so. Servers were waking in circles with food trying to find the table it was for which happened several times. Room we were in also was cold and drafty.
Had a hair or bristle (maybe from a brush?) in my salad. For Valentine’s Day, the music was 80’s pop. Only two basic vegetarian meals. Wife had the fish, was not so good.
What’s to say, the evening exceeded expectations. It was Valentine’s Day and the restaurant was definitely busy.
Dinner, music, company, service, scenery... I could go on. I have been many places in my time, this was certainly one of the best.
Thank you for everything, you have rekindled my faith in dining in Ontario.
The food was excellent & our server was very amicable & funny.
He was very personable & attentive without being intrusive.
The Mill itself is a wonderful venue; set in a small valley amongst trees with a small river & falls running next to it. The view from the pedestrian bridge from the reception to the seating area is quite lovely.
Highly recommend this restaurant.
This was my first time at the Ancaster Mill, and my partner's first time in many years. Our experience was most enjoyable from start to finish, with impeccable service. We were seating in the atrium section of the restaurant, with a view to the rocks in the hillside, which was very pleasant. Kevin was our primary server, and he, along with others, was very attentive, and unobtrusive. The food was excellent from the starters of Cod Cake and Smoked Salmon, through mains of Striped Bass and Duck Breasts, followed by desserts of Guava Tart and Cheesecake. We determined that we will be adding the Ancaster Mill to our list of restaurants for special occasions. Thank you!
Yes, I love to eat there. However, this time I noticed that my jacket smelled like cooking when I got it back from the coat check. That was a bit bothersome.
Service and environment were excellent!! Really enjoyed.
We attended on a Sunday night. We were not aware of the Sunday Night Family style set menu but were very pleased with our meal. Great value too!
Steve H was a wonderful server! So friendly and warm and always on top of service.
My friend and I were pleasantly surprised that my request for a window seat using the Open Table website was recognized and we had a beautiful view in the Falls room. Our server was exceptional and quite attentive. I was disappointed in the food quality for the price of brunch. The turkey was dry, tough and lacked any flavour. There was no mushed potatoes or roasted vegetables to accompany it. I have a food intolerance to garlic and onions and my choices at this restaurant were limited. The made to order omelet was mediocre and I’ve had better. The bacon was over done and hard to eat. The dessert selection was good, but the brownies were bland and dry. I’ve had brunch at Cambridge Mill and Spencer’s and prefer both over the Old Mill.
Another lovely brunch...we live in Niagara on the Lake & try to come for brunch at least every few months....10x better than anything around here....I do miss the pot de creme on the dessert table but there is lots to choose from, also miss the kir royale drink (wrong spelling, I know :) Just a beautiful afternoon........
A very good meal in a lovely setting with excellent service and a good selection of Ontario wines. For a midweek evening there was a surprisingly large number of other diners.
I found the menu appealing but a little short on choice of mains (1 pasta, 1 fish, 1 vegetarian, 1 duck, 2 beef). Dessert was similarly limited: pie in several flavors. Initially, I thought this might be due to a low turnout but that was not the case when we were there.
So by all means, go to the Mill for an occasion, but check the online menu first.
The selection and quality of the food provided for the brunch was excellent. Our server was professional and friendly. My family immediately wanted to return to try the dinner menu. Unfortunately the dessert table looked and tasted frozen amd store bought.
Micheal our server was amazing. Overall good first experience for my husband.
Excellent location, ambience, food and service. Lovely Sunday brunch for our special occasion.
had a wonderful dinner - tenderloin was perfect and staff super.
We had excellent service from very professional staff. All of the windows and great lighting created a very open atmosphere and provided a great view to the very beautiful outdoors. Our meal was delicious and with amazing flavours. And don't forget the pie. Amazing.
Our first time for Sunday Supper and it was a lovely evening. The meal was wonderful and the service was excellent.
We.come.back everytime. Lo e the food, ambience, service....
We’ve been to Ancaster Mill many times for Sunday Brunch and we always have an amazing experience. Fantastic food and mimosas and great service. Our waiter was very attentive and did a great job!
The location was beautiful and my food was as expected for a fine dining location.
The service was great until the last minute and my partner who has a seafood allergy did not have any issues.
Overall I would visit this location again with friends, family, and colleagues.
