Menu includes Mediterranean classics as a Greek salad, grilled lamb chops and a swordfish kebab. There's a raw bar, and daily specials that might include Seafood, Artic Char, Monkfish, Lamb Shank or slow-cooked pork shoulder.
Good food! Service a little slow, but she had too many tables.
Great meal highly recommended the octopus appetizer! Lamb chops, branzino, salmon and tuna were all prepared beautifully. The spinach side dish is to die for. Good selection Greek wines. It is not inexpensive, but worth the money.
Excellent food and service.
Anassa was wonderful. Our server was very attentive. Great place for a date.
Nicoise Salad best I've had in NYC. because it doesn't use canned tuna.
Loved the entire experience!
We all enjoyed the meal. Thought the calamari and grilled vegetables were very small portions, otherwise food was nicely done and otherwise good value.
Usual spot for a Saturday brunch
Great spot for a quiet dinner with nice ambiance.
excellent service, food, atmosphere, neighborhood gem!!
Always a great meal
Love Anassa Taverna! The bread and hummus alone are worth the trip. The salads and the salmon are my favorite. Great place to bring people for work lunches.
Good food and service. Fair prices. Too,ugh noise energy for my taste, but acceptable. Overall nice, convenient spot.
Great ambiance, delicious food and attentive staff.
Great place, convenient location near Bloomingdale's, delicious food! Friendly staff, you don't get rushed through your meal.
I would have given it 5 stars if it weren't so noisy. My friend and I had to practically shout to hear each other. The food is excellent. I always have the Anassa chips (eggplant and zucchini), better than potato chips. The mussels were also great very small (how I ,ike them) and in a flavorful sauce.
Incompetent and slow service
Great lunch spot
Server not trained properly, we order 3 drinks, two arrived after we were served 2 out of 4 appetizers? Server brought up wrong appetizer, waiting for the drinks more than 30 minutes,
The floor across our table was lifted probably water damage. We tried to address issue with manager but with no help. Regarding food, fish and seafood was very good, steak was fat and chewy, I did have couple of meals in their Astoria restaurant where experience was 10 times better.
Very nice and laid back vibe with great food and drink!
Grilled octopus was Devine. The shrimp saganaki was fabulous. Service was attentive without being intrusive.
I've gone many times before. They had a very generous NY Restaurant Week. Loved the Sangria. My only problem was the noise level
Excellent food- excellent service! Can’t wait to go back!
Food is always excellent. Just wish it was quieter.
This local Greek restaurant always delivers. My girlfriend and I shared the romaine salad and octopus. All their dishes are always enjoyable. We just have a habit of always ordering the same thing when we are together. Cocktails and wine selection are good. The service is great and the restaurant is very accommodating. I asked if they could lower the music and they did that. Still one of my local favorites and even though my friend lives downtown she always wants to meet there.
All the way around the food, beverage, & service were excellent. I would’ve preferred to dine upstairs but that section was closed
Went for me and my gf’a anniversary dinner.
Was seated by a window. Lots of traffic off the street that contributes to noise even while sitting inside.
At times I couldn’t hear my partner from across the table.
Our server was not very knowledgeable on ingredients or MP (market price) items.
Our grilled Calamari came to the table cold.
Ordered a NY strip- Medium, came to the table MED-rare and cold. (Also had zero seasoning and wasn’t very tasteful)
Just an overall bad experience for those prices.
Was severely disappointed. Service was not only slow, but not attentive at ALL. I was still eating my appetizer when my main dish came out, and had to stop mid bite to help the server figure out how to put all the plates on the table since she did not even check on us to see if we were done with our appetizers. I ordered the shrimp moussaka which was out right BAD. The “béchamel” on top was fully cooked, so it was basically eating bread with cold vegetables underneath. When someone came to clear my plate, I commented that I did not eat it, and it was not even questioned why. Then, before we even had a bite of our dessert, someone came by and dropped a check before we had even asked, and it was not even close to closing time, and there was no wait. Will NOT be dining here again.
Went for restaurant week the food is to die for and service was great. Get the octopus!!
service was extremely slow. example: we ordered sangria; had to wait an exorbitant apt of time to get drink. when we finally got it, it tasted like water....meaning it probably had been poured -- with ice, of course -- and sat at bar way too long before waiter picked it up and brought it to us. Dessert: how long does it take to slice a piece of cake and scoop out some sorbet? It took him close to 10 minutes to bring it to us. Same with appetiΩer and entree. the arctic char, however was excellent.
Terrible service. Not half way through my appetizer and my main coarse arrived but NOT my guests. So it got cold while we finished appetizers and until guests entree arrived. We weren’t the only ones with major issues. Multiple tables. Ruined our lunch. Got a discount and extra drinks which was nice.
I enjoyed the setting and food I Liked the openness of the dining room on the second floor and being azble to sit near a window for airflow. The waitstaff was attentive and professional.
the food was delicious and cooked very well. It was a fun experience and a wonderful place to meet with friends.
This is a great restaurant for lunch or dinner. Food is good service excellent and portions sufficient.
We sat at a table facing the extremely noisy side street. We could barely hear each other
The restaurant is lovely. The staff was efficient. The food was presented nicely but generally it was tasteless.
Delicious food but service was very slow. We ordered the restaurant week 3 course lunch special at 12:10 according to our check but didn't receive dessert until around 1:45, final bill at 2.
Lunch as always was excellent . However the noise level was way tooo loud. Music was too loud thank goodness the music did not start blasting till the end of my lunch .
Went for restaurante week. Food selection was great and food was delicious. Wait staff was attentive and fast. The restaurant was nice and clean. Busy yet still spacious .
Our first restaurant we went to for Restaurant Week. Compared to other offerings, the menu selection was very good. Will certainly return again. A very pleasant afternoon.
Our selection for a Restaurant Week lunch was spot on delicious! Our server was helpful, and the food was delicious. My grilled calamari appetizer was so good I plan to go back and have it again!
