Sehr gute Küche - alles frisch zubereitet. Der Preis inkl. Tipp ist allerdings recht hoch!
Loved Anassa Taverna and will absolutely return!
Food was amazing, fresh and remind me my experience while i was in Greece. Wine selection was great, waiter that served us was such an amazing guy that advices us great wine, that we bought whole bottle and finished it there ))) it s my 6th time that i visit there and def will stop by again! Thank you for such an amazing experience
Sunday special lamb shank not good. Meatballs in tomato sauce were more Italian than Greek.
A friend ordered one fish. No longer available (it’s was 5pm on a Sunday); ordered a second fish, also no longer available. Third one was good though but served w/o any side veggies or rice or anything. Ordered spanakorizo on the side at a cost of $11 so her meal came to over $40. Months husband salmon was good. Ordered one Greek wine bottle but also not available. Not a positive experience and will not return. There are many better (and cheaper) restaurants in Manhattan so we shall not return.
I had the grouper tomato soup with vegetables and it was a waste of my time and money
Measly chunks of fish and I can tell you what type of vegetables were in the soup ( server didn’t know what type of veggies were Inside ). Not a cheap place but I can appreciate the location and Greek cuisine
Nice server but wouldn’t come back .
Always liked Anassa sinne years. This time a bit low on the experience rating as the servers seemed uninterested in first ones through the door this Sunday, like us. They seemed caught off guard and not ready to begin yet. But food was great as usual.
staff was great...atmosphere was perfect
I have been to this restaurant numerous times but this time, for lunch, I was a bit disappointed. My guest and I ordered the Greek Salad and Shrimp Mousakka to share. It would be appropriate for the server to help serve the dishes to each of us rather than leave it to our own to this ourselves. There was no large spoon/fork left to separate the food, other than the utensils to eat. A restaurant this good, with a positive reputation, should do a bit more than dump the salad and main dish on the table, especially when they encourage shared dishes at lunch. I encourage the restaurant to institute a change in this regard and instruct their servers to assist when two people are sharing a dish. I will return, but hope that they take positive steps to improve in this area.
Music was too loud for conversation
Great food and lively atmosphere but it was too loud. It was hard to speak above the DJ's music.
I met a friend for an early lunch
THe chicken soup and Greek salad were perfect for a cold crisp windy day
A friend and I chose this restaurant because of its convenient location for our meeting. We both ordered Cobb salad--it was ok, definitely not great. Service and ambiance were fine. We were not rushed. So, we will try a repeat visit ordering a different salad (we saw some go by which looked very good) and will sit upstairs which is quieter before crossing Anassa Tavern off our list.
Outstanding food and service! Will definitely return. Friendly staff- fresh and flavorful food. A winner!!
We loved it! Amazing service, food, and staff. Will definitely be coming back. THANK YOU!
Music was way too loud for lunch/brunch at 1pm that we couldn’t even hear each other. When we asked to turn down the music they said that most likely they can’t because that’s the atmosphere. And the waiter mixed up the bills and swiped our card for another table and after realizing the mistake, had to cancel the charge to re-process it for our correct bill.
A wonderful place for a glass of wine and dinner with family and friends.
I like to eat grilled seafood at Greek restaurants and enjoy Greek wines, and I was pleased with the choices here. The fish was fresh and well prepared, though not deboned very well. A small bowl of favs served with the bread is a nice touch. The tables are crowded, especially in the glassed-in section downstairs. My only real gripe is that seafood entrees are strictly a la carte and sides are expensive for what you get. This means prices, which seem reasonable, are actually 20% higher than they seem at first. And wine prices are a little high, though typical for a Manhattan restaurant.
Our waitress was totally inattentive. Had to continually stop her as she walked by our table.
Good for a quick meal (lunch or dinner) before or after neighborhood shopping or a movie. Diverse menu with something for every taste. Competent food and service. Moderate noise level.
love the food-so fresh and delicious
really attentive service
great cozy place -love the darkness too
Excelent salads, great fish, nice ambiance, high spirits thus high noise. Never miss the place when I'm in New York.
Noisy place but food was good. Not a place to go if you want to have a discussion with friends. More like a noisy bar with great food. I think the management likes to keep it loud and lively. Tables turn quickly, no one stays and lingers over conversation. Take your college buddies or young work colleagues for a loud dinner out drinking and yelling jokes across the table, but skip if you want to have a decent conversation. Take NO ONE over 47 years old, unless they are already deaf.
Service and atmosphere was terrific. I had the lamb salad. It was tasty but the salad was drenched in dressing and the lamb was very tough. Was surprised because the reviews of this place are so good. Maybe it was just the choice I made. I’d give it another try because it’s convenient but I can’t recommend it until I do.
Came for a Wednesday afternoon lunch and the food was excellent. Large menu with lots to choose from. Good size potions so we certainly didn’t leave hungry.
I ordered a salad and asked for salmon on top. The waitress never informed me that the salmon would be an additional $22. I would have ordered the salmon entree, which would have been cheaper if I had known how expensive it would have been.
Very good food. Just no reason for having a dj (and loud music) in a restaurant...
We always meet our friends at Anassas for lunch and are never disappointed. Everything is always fresh and served with flair. The servers are friendly and attentive. Don't miss the mussels and Anassas chips. You are never hurried as in some places on the Upper East side so we always have a nice visit together!
My friend had the striped bass in parchment and told me at least 4 times during dinner how good it was. The salad was huge and had a wonderful dressing
My only suggestion is that it can get crowded and noisy downstairs, so reserve a table upstairs if you can.
Lovely restaurant. The food is amazing. The compimentary bread and dip are excellent. The zucchini and eggplant chips are addictive if not a bit expensive at $20.00. The tuna nicoise was a delight. The arrugula salad was huge. One little snafu, the server took my husband's drink away without asking and he wasn't finished yet. Otherwise a delghtful place. We have been many times and will continue to do so.
One of my favorite meeting spots for lunch with friends, perfect for after or before lunch shopping too!
Ridiculously noisy -- couldn't hear each other across a small table.
We came for brunch.
Excellent service. Egg omelets were one of the best we ever had.
I have been here for dinner but not for brunch. Will definitely come again for brunch and dinner as well.
The food was incredible!!!!! The service was great and the DJ play good music.
Good food and service. But Music was a bit too noisy for conversation.
Was promised a round table did not get it. Was very noisy. Had a DJ to make it louder Waiter was ok not very attendant
Food, beverages and service were excelelnt as always!
The atmosphere on the second floor is warm and very Greek in feeling. The Greek dips with pita are very tasty and authentic. The menu is varied and the food is fresh and prepared very well. The waiters and maitr’d are very attentive. It is a charming setting and you’ll have a very relaxing, pleasant experience.
The service and food are consistently of great quality. Servers are very friendly and welcoming. It's a quite cozy place with a moderate level of noise, making it easy to have private conversations. I love bringing friends who are visiting NYC.
Unfortunately, Too noisy. Too cramped. Tiny tables. Frenetic atmosphere.
Good food otherwise.
