Anaheim White House Ratings and Reviews
First time here and was not disappointed...have heard this placed talked about many times, so in giving it a try I found it to be be excellent high end eating. Service was spot on, food was delicious, and it was nice to be able to hold a quiet conversation with my wife at the table. Is it overpriced.. sure, but it is a nice special occasions experience.
The food was just okay, nothing special, and not worth the price. We had shrimp cocktails and the shrimp was small and tasted defrosted, nothing special. My husband had the prime rib and, again, it was fine, nothing great. I had the shrimp scampi and was very disappointed. It was lacking any true flavor, and once again, the shrimp were subpar. The restaurant is an older house converted. We ate in an upstairs room, the decor was old, but not in a good way. The whole place needed new paint and carpeting and the wallpaper decor was hideous. The service was great.
Our dinner was the highlight of our trip. After days of eating Disney fast food this was the perfect treat. The pasta was amazing but the real wow was the presentation on the meat dishes and dessert. We ordered the soufflé which was terrific, and we also order the Jackie O dessert selection and the whole table was blown away. We can't wait to come back.
I had expected dinner at the Anaheim White House to be a truly exceptional dining experience. Perhaps my expectations were too high since what we actually experienced was a good meal at a "fine dining" price . The pasta e fagioli soup and the salmon chocolate were both good but not exceptional. The service was friendly and prompt. The ambiance is interesting but the decor is beginning to show some signs of aging. The Anaheim White House remains a high quality restaurant but it is no longer a "destination" restaurant.
This is our second time and we loved it as much as the first! We had plenty of time prior to catching a concert and we enjoyed a leisurely meal ordering one item at a time. The wait staff was professional and friendly. The food is authentically Italian and presentation is authentically gourmet. They have lots of little side rooms that allow for intimate gatherings of large groups. Decor is elegant and gold. Can't wait to return.
The service here was amazing. From the moment you walk into the restaurant you feel very special and they aim to please. It was also great to meet Chef Bruno Serato as he made rounds and personally greeted us. The food was delicious and the setting was perfect. We enjoyed having a date night here and hope to come again
This place is great fun! The White House Restaurant is in lovely a refurbished home, built in 1909, in the middle of not-so-lovely Anaheim, and run by Chef Bruno Serato. I have long wanted to try the restaurant because I'd heard of its wonderful charitable entity, Caterina's Club, that feeds local motel kids and provides financial support and work training to many in the community. My husband and I met another couple there for dinner and we were seated promptly and greeted warmly by Chef Bruno. Service was outstanding and the restaurant was beautifully decorated for the holidays. The food was good, though the presentation had a few odd features: my whitefish Florentine was delicious, but it had a side dish of rice in a green sauce, and served in a half a coconut shell. Our appetizer of tasty artichoke hearts was served under an edible pastry shell dyed red and shaped a bit like a catcher's mask. We all cleaned our plates and had a wonderful evening. If I had one piece of advice for Chef Bruno, it would be to limit the presentation flourishes and stick to creating wonderful meals. The menu is great and it stands on its own merits. We will definitely be back!
This was our second visit to the White House, the first being a visit for a tasting menu with a local foodie group. However, this was a birthday meal, which turned out extraordinary. We started off with salads served in rice paper bowls. Next for me was the rack of venison with a red wine and currant reduction sauce, served with mashed potatoes and a side of sautéed asparagus. One of the best dishes I've ever had. My wife's herb crusted prime rib, served with a side of of sautéed spinach, looked fantastic, and she said it was. Dessert was a great creme brûlée with strawberries. Service was impeccable, with someone nearby whenever your glass neared empty or there was a plate to be cleared.
For us, The Anaheim White House is not a place for regular meals, but on a special occasion, it is nothing short of spectacular.
Restaurant very crowded but it is the holiday season. We waited way too long for our server to greet us and take our drink order. We were never offered a wine menu. Food was good but again, waited too long for after dinner coffee and refills.
We would go back again but if service remains the same after holiday season, then they have a problem.
The food is mediocre. This restaurant touts itself as fine dining, but I think it falls short of such. The food doesn't taste fresh and doesn't taste freshly prepared. I ordered a dish that included a lobster tail and beef short rib; and my entire dish was cold. I received a new plate that was warm but not hot. The food itself was bland tasting and didn't offer much flavor. I was expecting to be wowed by my meal and I wasn't. ..at all.
This place is pretty interesting, I would say just different. I liked pretty much everything, but smell of old house in the dining area was not that pleasant. We have met the Chef, that was a nice touch, loved the Caesar Salad, my pasta with seafood was just ok, my friend pasta with grounded beef seemed better. At dessert wish apple tart was warm. I like décor of the house restaurant.
We had our wedding reception at the Anaheim White House 12 years ago and we go there every year on our Anniversary. We live two hours away and the drive is well worth it! The food, the service and the ambiance is amazing. We will continue to go every year on our Anniversary and, if possible, in between!
Food was average at best. Place looks a bit run-down and felt a bit musty. Silverware and glassware were dirty with harden food stains and lipstick. Service was sub-par - had to tell the wait staff to grab a wine list, fill water glasses, etc. Notified the restaurant that we were celebrating a birthday, and nothing was done or offered to us. At this price point, there are MANY restaurants that are worth the visit; this one is NOT one of them.
There was a special event out doors so parking was a problem and service was very slow. I called ahead for a birthday surprise for my sister's 50th birthday and they were so busy they forgot all about it. Disappointing. We had driven over an hour based on a recommendation.
A wonderful experience and exceptional food. Took my daughters and my sister here for her birthday. Beautiful presentation, tasteful exquisite dishes all surrounded by a beautiful ambiance and friendly staff. I highly recommend this gem in the middle of Anaheim.
The ambiance is a little kitsch, but if you're prepared you can have fun with it. As a big group, being in our own room was cool. The food was very good, the service knowledgeable, friendly and efficient, and the sommelier was experienced and had excellent suggestions.
