Anacapri - Pinecrest Ratings and Reviews
I found the restaurant to be too crowded (tables are too close to one another)I was hit by people including waiters/staff. It was also too noisy made it almost impossible to have a pleasant conversation. Food was just OK. Salmon Carpaccio topped with dried arugula leaves, for entrée tried a duck pasta with mushrooms that overpowered the taste of the duck. Good wine and dessert. In my opinion needs tons of improvement, it was my first time and I was disappointed despite the great reviews I heard from friends
So the last time my wife and I dined at the restaurant we did not have a good experience due to a bad server. Everything was fine this time EXCEPT our server disappeared on us when it came time to receive the check and pay for the bill (20 minutes). I had to go up and pay for it myself which the server immediately apologized. My wife and I decided to give this Ana Capri a vacation. No need to spend my money where it is not appreciated.
Every few years I come back here thinking maybe I was mistaken in my assessment of this place. I’m not. It’s extremely mediocre. There was a time when they were the only kinda nice Italian place in Pinecrest so you put up with their food. But, we have options now and they really don’t cut it
Good food but our server was not on his game. He was forgetful, It took a very long time for the food to come out (over 40 minutes) and he did not check up on us. I had to get up and walk out till the matre di (sorry about spelling) came to our rescue. We figured this was a one time happening. But I don't think the server is good at all as the time before we dined, the same thing happened to a table next to us. Long wait, forgetting things. I don't want to mention his name to embarrass him. Sorry Ana Capri.
Been eating in this restaurant for over twenty five years.
The service was poor. The servers were busy but not attentive.
Asked repeatedly for water glass to be filled; asked for lemons 3 times. One time when asking for the water glass to be filled, an employee suggested that it wasn't his table.
Brought bread after salads were finished and without butter.
Management needs to keep a closer look on what is going on with the service.
Happens every time and I am a regular. I will only return to their Happy Hours, which are phenomenal. Had dinner Thursday, Meatball Night, of the 5 meat balls to choose from, ONLY beef was available!! No Meomi wine available, the substitute was horrendous. The waiters are unfriendly and cold hearted. The food is excellent and serving is generous. A sit down pow wow with the waiters is highly recommended.
Delicious southern Italian food. Wonderful lightly fried calamari, very good eggplant rolatini, superb eggplant parmigiana. The chicken & snapper francese are excellent, as are the various pastas. Try the veal parmigiana. This is a very good neighborhood restaurant which has been at the same location for over 25 years.
The food is consistently good. But the reason we continue to return is the service. The waiters are exceptional. They know exactly how to choose the best wines and suggestions from on and off the menu.
Definitely above and beyond even more expensive and high end restaurants.
Came for my wife's birthday on Tuesday with the family. We had a horrible experience and wouldn't recommend going here. Here is a short list of the issues at this place.
1. They don't answer the phone.
2. The service was horrible.
3. Food took forever to reach our table.
4. Plates stacked on the table in a tower so the bussers (who were too busy talking in the front) can pick them up.
5. The waiter must of assumed we couldn't afford the regular dishes and gave the whole table $10 Tuesday pasta dishes (which are half the portion). Never did he mention this promo nor that he is going to place the order that way.
6. Never will go here again.
The food really is 6 out of 5, but we're only allowed five stars. Whatever.
We came for Mothers Day. They were packed to the brim (fortunately we had reservations). So I think the service suffered a bit for this (we had to ask a couple times for bread, water, and the appetizers).
That being said, the food is the best Italian food you are going find here in the states. I never have (and probably never will) have a better meatball in my life. Everyone's dish was delicious, and the dessert was exceptional.
Everyone had a bit of a grumble about the service, but each and every one of us agreed we will be coming back. We're just hoping the service is a bit better on a less busy day.
