An Urban Table
Our waiter was new but great to work with - loved my breakfast - one of our favorite spots.
It was a price fixed menu on Valentine's and they were very nice in pricing the items individually, the food was good! The portions were nice and I saw even more generous servings at other tables. My halibut was overdone but I should have asked for a medium rare version. The burratta and salad were tasty. We will go back.
Valentines Day. Packed too tightly. Loud. Service not good. food just ok. Expected more
We went on Valentines Day. The waiter was great but the main course took a long time to get at least 45 min. to an hour. They were very apologetic and gave us a glass of champagne while we were waiting. We go there often and have always had a great experience. This will not keep us from going again.
Valentine’s Day dinner... We sat at the bar and had a great dining experience.
First time to this restaurant on a holiday. No options but the prix fixe menu that we could never view on the website. $65 a person.
Pureed cauliflower soup was Outstanding. The rest of the menu? Hmmmm. Not for the price. Pretty presentation though.
Went back two days later for regular menu. Ummm, same story.
Cute venue. Great service. Highly overpriced food that in the end is really only mediocre. SOOoo wanted to love this place.
The evening was great start to finish. Drinks were tasty, appetizers were yummy and dinner was delicious! Everyone loved their food. Service was excellent. My only complaint would be the parking. We had to park quite a bit away from the restaurant so come prepared!
It was very loud. Close conversations could not be had. Will go again during less busy service.
The food was amazing and service was great!
An Urban Table has a cool, festive vibe. We were there to celebrate my daughter's new job and it was so much fun. Great food, great service, great atmosphere, great time!
My partner has several severe food allergies, so we’re always hesitant to try new places. I wish we hadn’t taken so long to try Urban Table! The menu was accommodating to all of his allergies, and our server, Jocelyn, was so knowledgeable about each item and its ingredients that we felt secure he could eat there safely. Her recommendations were amazing, to boot. We’ll definitely be back!
We came in for a friends birthday. The food and service were great but the table was very uncomfortable. We sat on the closed patio area near a door. There were drafts the entire time and it was freezing out. There were heat lamps above the table that were so strong we had to move the table. I felt like my eye were burning from the heat and my eyes and lips were completely dried out after dinner. It was constant waves of freezing or roasting.
Our whole experience was great! Mark was our server and did an awesome job of making sure we were well taken care of.
Our food and wine were delicious - our server, Mark, was awesome!
We’re usually big fans of Urban Table but last night was sorely disappointing because of a service incident that I will take up with management. Can’t say the food is not very good because it really is. So many gluten-free options are a huge bonus and they’re actually quite tasty - specifically the gluten-free French onion mac and cheese, and both gluten-free pastas (Cacio E Pepe and Carbonara) are excellent dishes. Perfect portion size, excellent sauce. Last night I had the Cacio E Pepe and it was great. Not too peppery but you can taste the pepper. Rich but not overpowering. Excellent pasta. I like that they offer the gluten-free bread in place of the bruschetta to allow for a gluten-free option with those great toppings. Deviled eggs are delicious.
Service was just bizarre and complicated and included an unfortunate incident we found sneaky that I won’t go into here publicly. But there were some other service issues on this particular dining visit that we haven’t experienced previously here at Urban Table. 18 minutes from being seated to getting our drinks. 8 minutes from being seated to being acknowledged by a server. We were looking around wondering why other diners who arrived after us were getting served before us. Staffing issue as told by the server who we did end up having. She did try and she had her good points. But you have to get it together if there’s a Friday night typically heavy dinner time. Meaning don’t just let it slide, figure out a plan to handle it. What I mean by that is bartenders were not exactly moving drinks quickly as I mentioned, and at first we were the only diners in our section and nobody could figure out who was going to be our server, let alone that even after our area filled up with other diners, everyone was getting pretty slow service (and maybe they just didn’t care as much as we did).
The Restaurant Week menu was still available and our salad and entree choices were all very tasty. Our server was attentive, helpful and friendly. Great food and great service!
Customer-centered service from management level down! When I noted an issue, the manager was quick to respond in a generously accommodating manner.
When we return to Kansas City for a visit, we always make a point of eating at Urban Table. We love the fresh, unusual ingredients. It is very noisy which makes it difficult if you are visiting with friends.
Good food, great service, and nice atmosphere!! I enjoyed very much with my girl friends for brunch.
This place is a favorite, not the first time I have been and won’t be the last!!
Reservations at 7:15, but they were running behind. Didn’t sit down until 8 o’clock. The managers on duty were very gracious and gave us Champagne and Bruschetta as well as their apologies. Super friendly, and warm....outstanding customer service!
Date night with my wife. It was restaurant week. We did the $33 per head menu. Food was good but very slow to come out to the table. From the time we were seat until the main course it was over one hour. About 15 minutes to long, we were not check on by our server. He seamed like he had two two many tables.
Never been there before & went for restaurant week. Service was very good. Udon bowl was sooo heavy on the ginger there was no tasting anything else in the bowl. The server immediately exchanged it for another menu item. The dip app was good. The chicken parm/alfredo pasta was very garlicky. Apple pie dessert was probably the best thing we ate. Had heard good things about this restaurant but we weren’t wowed & probably won’t go back.
Food was excellent. Server had challenges but he recovered nicely.
Had a great experience and really loved the atmosphere. The menu had good variety but wasn’t overwhelming. Overall prices were fair for the portions and quality of food. I look forward to going back!
Pretty good service but need more training...
We had a wonderful experience dining at the Urban Table for Restaurant Week. We shared the duo dips -- crostini with honey goat cheese and figs and hummus with pita played off each other well and were delicious. I died over the mushroom soup -- so rich and creamy. Penny loved the salad. The Caveman Crispy Chicken and Carbonara were really good. Indeed, only the apple pie was a disappointment. I would not normally get dessert so I would not let the pie keep me away from a future visit.
As always, the food was excellent. My date and I each had dishes that we hadn't tried before. I had the Waffles Ranchero (picture would not upload and I tried three different sizes) and my date had the Waffle Sliders. Her syrup had (if i remember correctly) pralines and bacon in it, both dishes were excellent and colorful.
I always order the sweet potato beignets, which, if you haven't had them, are not as light as a traditional beignet, but they are extremely flavorful and highly recommended as a starter.
Jodi did an excellent job with all our special rework.
Fun and fresh atmosphere and the brunch was delicious!
We weren't aware there would be a prixe fixe menu. We came for some of the regular menu options, and it was not possible. I would say on a regular day, it is great. On holidays or special occasions, it's not worth it. Our waitress was amazing and the only reason we stayed for the food.
Great dinner experience on New Years Eve! Servers were on point and food was cooked to perfection. Prix fix menu options were really good without being too foo foo!
Great NYE spot
Server could be better trained on gluten free and just overall. He was very pleasant though.
We love coming here & always have excellent service! We will be back for sure :)
Chicken pot roast was bland. Bruschetta was burnt on edges and toppings were mediocre. The Cannelini and capers topping is extremely salty.
Food was very average, salads were okay but brishetta was not edible. Cold and tasteless. Wouldn’t go back.
Food has definitely gone down hill. Very disappointed.
We went for a date night and because we had heard good things about their gluten free menu.
Our waitress seemed confused and steered me towards a breaded item.
The drinks we ordered we not great when we tried to order more the waitress told us the bartender was new and they didn’t look like they normally do so they “probably didn’t taste the same” but didn’t offer to make the situation right.
Halfway through our meal the heat lamps turned out due to getting too hot and we had to eat in the dark for 20 minutes.
I won’t be returning....
