Based on previous reviews, we were expecting more. Not a bad place, but the food could have used more creativity. Service was good overall.

We had a pretheatre dinner here. Ambiance is very informal given prices - plastic chairs? Still the food was excellent. We each had a little gems salad and I had the game hen while my husband had halibut - yummy! Wish our server had told us beignets took 15 min as we would have ordered. Our main course took a really long time to come after we finished salad (15 minutes!). We had to pour our own wine. Little things can make or break the experience but the food quality will bring me back.

A meal at Amuse is a special meal. We usually dine at Amuse a couple of times a year when we visit Ashland for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Every dish was superb: prawns appetizer (simply the best ), salad, ruby trout, steak, and beignets for desert. Friendly and prompt service. We will be back in August!

Amuse is a top notch dinner place in our experience. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The service is excellent. The food is carefully and artfully prepared, and every bite is wonderfully delicious. While it is on the expensive side, if you have a special occasion to celebrate, you cannot go wrong with this place. They were also very kind to lend us an umbrella when we came ill-prepared to go out in the rain that came pouring down during our lovely dinner there.

This was a great choice for dinner. We were in Ashland for the weekend and wanted a nice relaxing place. The waiter was very knowledgeable and actually created a cocktail that was divine. The meal was excellent and the atmosphere was very warm and welcoming. I highly recommend this restaurant for couples.

The staff were friendly and accommodating to move us outside when we found the inside tables too noisy. The green salad had some wilted lettuce on it, and the size was surprisingly small and the taste fine but uninspired. The pork chop was a bit overcooked. The halibut was tasty but quite a small portion for $30. The game hen was well-prepared but my husband wasn’t wowed and he was still hungry after dinner.

Lovely pre or post theater spot
Probably best salad Nicoise i have ever had- made with glorious buttery halibut
The sweet breads were succulent as well
Tho the spring onion soup with truffles was a bit too rich and creamy - expected light and airy- it was not
Sorbets were delicious
And service and place was sweet!

We are visiting Ashland. The food was first rate at reasonable prices for such quality . We had a great server who was attentive and answered our questions about the area. Go there!

We had dinner there two nights ago and the food was amazing. We have been to Amuse several times but not recently and we have decided that we need to go more often.
We had three courses and each was perfection. The wine choices are very reasonable. If you go, do not forget to order the beignets! They are perfectly wonderful and Amuse is the only place I know of in the Rogue Valley that serves them.

We have celebrated my husband’s birthday at Amuse for years, but this will be the last time. It is no longer the special place it used to be. No tablecloths (they said it is for environmental reasons), uninspired menu (we ended up ordering appetizers instead), waiter lackadaisical (not particularly interested in our special occasion or us), only the person filling up the water glasses seemed attentive- I could see her peeking around the corner at our table frequently. SAD.

An established Ashland restaurant, Amuse is comfortablely intimate with welcoming touches that might also be found in Provence. Attentive servers are knowledgeable & enthusiastic, yet inobtrusive. Above all, from the amuse bouche to dessert, we enjoyed wonderful food, thoughtfully prepared and nicely presented. A lovely evening before the theatre.

Always good food. And Amuse opener. Waiter was good. Other wait staff were not knowledgable enough for this level restaurant. Easy to teach them some of ingredients.

We were recommended to try this restaurant and were disappointed . The menu was limited. I ordered the sweetbreads as an appetizer and they were good . For the Jain I ordered Halibut and it was treated with the same tehina and truffle oil. While it worked for the sweetbreads , it was not that good with the halibut . My companions also felt there was too much use of truffle oil . Our service was excellent .

We had a fantastic meal from the service to the Amuse to the breads and spreads to the beet salad to the steaks to the sorbet and coffee and the final brownie bite. I will be back next time I am in town.

We enjoyed our dinner at Amuse. The service was leisurely but efficient and it fit in with our relaxed plans. We really enjoyed the food with some new items on the menu. The noise level was fairly high because the rooms are small, but overall it was tolerable. We look forward to our next visit.

Great food and wonderful service. I love the "amuse bouche" and final small sweet. Food is local, beautifully prepared and plated. One of my favorites in Ashland when we are there for the Shakespeare Festival. The restaurant is small, so occasionally a tiny bit more noise than I prefer. In summer, the terrace out back is open, with heat for chilly northwest nights.

We had been before and really enjoyed it. This time it was just fine, but not very stimulating. The halibut was on the verge of overcooked. The prawns were nicely done. Not a good value for the prices.

The owner is a enophile, but his wine list no longer reflects some of his expertise in foreign imports. Everything is local, which is good for people visiting from outside of OR.
