Got to enjoy Amuse after all the theater goers had left. Great wine. Excellent mains and dessert. Salmon and halibut.
Food was delightful. Cornish hen was superb; best prep I’ve had in my life; husband was envious because his sausage and cannelini beans were slightly less tasty than my hen! Grilled shrimp were perfect. Salad starter had a delicious creamy dressing; not your mom’s ranch, for sure. Amuse bouche of zucchini soup with creme fraiche was so good we wished we could have had an entire bowl. NA berry drink was very good, as was the Kir Royale. Service was impeccable; attentive but not invasive. Beignets for dessert were scrumptious but we were so full we had to take one back to our hotel.
We always enjoy Amuse.
The food is beautifully and creatively presented and the staff is mort attentive and helpful. It is a place I always dine in when I am in Ashland.
The ambiance in the restaurant was lovely. The service was great. The food was delicious. I had the salmon for my entree. It was delicious and beautifully presented. And the beignets for dessert were a true delight!
Always very good. Never disappointed. Food, wine, service and ambiance super.
My wife and I have been going to Amuse for several years. On this visit the food was excellent, as usual, but the timing of the service greatly diminished our dining experience.
We arrived for our 5:45 reservation on time. When we were seated we informed our server that we had an 8:00 curtain. She assured us that we would hope plenty of time. Our first course was served promptly, then the WAIT. Our entrees did not arrive at our table until approximately 7:20. At that point we needed to eat quickly and rush out to make our play. Other tables around us had a similar experience. Our server apologized for the delay and explained that it was due to a party of 20 elsewhere in the restaurant. Nice to know, but it did nothing to improve the enjoyment of our meal.
If we return to Amuse, it certainly will NOT be on an evening when we are attending a performance.
We love this restaurant! Everything was perfect. Food was delicious. Reasonable price for a French restaurant.
I would recommend Amuse only because it remains one of the few decent dining experiences in Ashland
Always amazing! Over 5 years and still never disappointed. Fresh local ingredients and always paired so divinely with other flavors! Service is always friendly yet professional. They always clear the table before the next course so it's never cluttered. Very clean and comfortable. Wine knowledge is fab also!
Lovely dinner. The food was delicious.
The only time we’ve had a meal this good was at a French gastronomic restaurant in Strasbourg, France. Amuse was the highlight of our trip from Bend to the area! We decided we must return for our anniversary every year.
Been coming here since they opened!!
What a delightful find and the wine list included a favorite wine by Turley
Great meal with pleasant and professional service in the somewhat sparse back outdoor patio.
Ceiling fans kept it cool in 86+ degree weather. The back patio is covered but ambience would benefit from some plantings and/or artwork to enhance the bare concrete. Our favorite place is the front porch but that only accommodates tables for two.
Love our meals. I had Oprah, it was cooked perfectly. The patio was quiet and relaxing
Our first time at Amuse and we had a wonderful experience. Everything was great - wine, food, service. We will be back.
Excellent food and service. Cant wait to go back. Their chocolate truffle cake dessert was to die for. The gnocchi was great. Though it was the only one vegetarian entree. One more would be great.
We were so excited to make our first visit to Amuse, and had expected it to be one of our favorite restaurants. Unfortunately it was a big disappointment. The seared Opah was delicious, with a nice crust and tasty accompaniments. Even the Amuse Bouche was a special treat. Sadly my husband's rib-eye steak was chewy and full of gristle. He didn't send it back or ask for a different meal, and left 2/3 of it on his plate--i tried it too and it was just inedible. We did not want the meal comped or any other consideration, but he told the waiter about the problem when she cleared the table. All we got was a silent glare--no "sorry you didn't enjoy it," or "we wish you had told us so that we could have brought you something else," or "we're so sorry, we'll taste it to make sure this doesn't happen again." That was it, off we went with nobody in the restaurant seeming to care that they had a steak (or possibly a whole batch of steaks) that were not edible. With all the excellent restaurants in Ashland, we'll opt for other options in the future.
The food, especially the fish, is always delicious and perfectly cooked.
The servers are well-trained and knowledgeable.
And, for such great food, not overpriced.
A real favorite for a special meal.
Amuse is the best - excellent food in beautiful presentations, great service by long-time servers, who are also knowledgeable about wines, all with a friendly, comfortable atmosphere but definitely in a special occasion ambiance. We shared an heirloom tomato and melon salad, then perfectly cooked salmon with an artfully crafted cucumber, tomato accompaniment, delicious, with a side of pommes frites, and yummy desserts, with lovely local wines. In the past, we have enjoyed the cheese plate. The bread is wonderful, very fresh, and this time served with both an aioli spread and kimchi butter. Amuse paces everything perfectly so that you don't feel rushed but are done in time for a play. It's our go-to, first-choice restaurant every year in when we visit Ashland.
Whenever we visit Ashland, once or twice a year, we always be sure to have dinner at Amuse.
The food and service are excellent. Prices are reasonable. And, they have a nice wine list that is also reasonably priced.
Probably the only negative, and a minor one at that, is that it is probably time to update the furniture. The tables are getting a little “long in the tooth”.
I highly recommend Amuse. They handle the pre-theater crowd very well making sure we were out with enough time to get to our play on time.
The space we were seated at in the front was quite cozy but it was well lit and not dark like interior space. Service seemed a bit slow with over 20 minutes before wine was served. My wife's entree was lukewarm at best while mine was perfect. Dessert was great.
Beautiful menu, thoughtfully plated dishes and fantastic wine and cocktail selection. Best service ever received, attentive engaging servers. So, so pleased!
Delicious food with some surprising flavors! Great Service! Cool playlist!
Reasonable restaurant, limited menu which never changes, good service, little ambiance.
Excellent food and drinks, attentive but not intrusive service - Amuse is never a bad choice.
attentive service. nice selection of dishes. tasting great.
Yummy, from the bread tray, to the onion corn chowder and sweetbreads to the shrimp appetizer and ono special. Of course, we also had to have an order of your delicious frites!! A luscious bottle of Turley Zinfandel accompanied nicely. Beignets for dessert rounded out the delicious dinner. Must mention excellent service from Ben! A few photos......sorry, but I was too excited to remember to take a photo of my beignet until it was all gone.
Four of s ate outside and it was perfect! I enjoyed the gnocchi, which was delicious. We all enjoyed our meals and the great service.
Food and service are consistently very good to excellent.
Started out well, with a nice table and good appetizers. Then things deteriorated with a 30 minute wait for our main courses and a mini lecture about how the kitchen‘s timing depends on when we finished our first courses. No excuse for 30 minutes which then turned into 45. Other tables seated after us were done with their two courses and out the door before we got our mains. Flavorless dried out halibut, undercooked monkfish, a pork tenderloin that was too tough to eat, and a rib eye that wasn’t rare as my father requested. It was his birthday...so, disappointing. Nice wine list and some complimentary truffles with a birthday candle since we didn’t want dessert or coffee, which was a pleasant gesture. However, we won’t be going back.
Foodie restaurant, very elegant presentation, precision prep. Fresh flavorful food. Go for it!
Somehow food not as good as previous years.
Excellent food preparation and quality, knowledgeable advice on wine choice with meal from waitperson, bit noisy, nicely causal and not pretentious, food served in a timely manner, very enjoyable meal.
Excellent as usual ! Charming servers ! Fantastic flavor So!
Amuse is one of our favorite Ashland restaurants. This year’s visit was outstanding, as usual. My husband had the pork loin, my daughter the game hen, and I the halibut. All were excellent, though we agreed the the game hen was the most outstanding. My only criticism is that I wish they would change their menu a little more often.
Our favorite restaurant in Ashland. Consistently good over many years. Wait staff are friendly and helpful. Food is wonderful. The white corn and onion soup was superb. The pork and hen entrees were both wonderful. The chocolate truffle cake was rich and would satisfy any chocolate craving.
The server had better things to do then provide a good dining experience, closer to breakfast diner is what we ended with. Totally disappointed, we go here every visit to Ashland, twice a year for the last 7 years and unfortunately the food quality has definitely gone down hill, sadly.
Second time we've dined here and will do so the next time we are in Ashland. Great food, wine and people.
