We went there for the new Food Truck Thursday where thet have a house special for $19.99 of food from recipes of a "food truck" of a different country each week. This week it was a Mediterranean special. Warm pita bread w/ tahini , liver "pate", and a small romanesco salad for the appetizer. Main course was charcoal grilled ground lamb "kebobs" on a bed of oat tabbouleh with some falefel balls. Dessert was a square of popey seed cake w/ a quennelle of cream and warm apricot. Both people having the special were delighted with the meal. The two others had a scallop dish w/ roasted or fried veggies and pork platter. Both looked beautiful and the parties enjoyed their dishes very much .. All four of us will be back soon to enjouy another fine meal.. Food was superb!!!!
The $25 pasta special was something that we all enjoyed.
Both food and service are really good here and it's pretty much the same every time we go which is every time we are at the beach. It's first on my list of eating places in Rehoboth.
Everything was fantastic. I had the spaghetti squash with green tomato ketchup (what a great combination) and the scallops with cauliflower, turnips and apples served with apple butter. Scallops were seared perfectly. My husband had the smoked bluefish and then the red snapper and both were perfect. Our waitress, Megan, was knowledgable on both food and drinks(I had a question about Sauvignon/Sancerre and she had all the answers.)
This was our second visit and both times it was great. The sweetbreads are amazing. The scallops were perfectly cooked and accompanied by a nice apple butter sauce. The pork entree was also excellent. The vegetables were all so fresh and prepared in a simple yet elegant manor. We can not wait to return.
Chef Hari Cameron is amazing...every detail is creative and wonderful and always delicious, always beautiful. Service is attentive but not intrusive and we always leave well fed and well taken care of. We love going there...
For a rainy November weekend at a shore town, I was amazed by how busy the restaurant was. This was truly a wonder find! The staff worked seamlessly together to create a fabulous dining experience. My wife and I decided on the tasting menu and we were not disappointed. The menu that was created for us was based on our individual tastes. Here is a summary of the food:
1) The beef tartare was perhaps the prettiest dish of the night (the plate and main component was elegantly dressed with a variety of radishes).
2) The foie gras was served with applebutter which proved to be a beautiful paring.
3) The Wegyu beef according to my wife was the best steak that she has ever had.
4) The last dish was a green tea donut topped with chai ice cream. Now I am not a fan of green tea or chai, but both worked very well together for this dessert.
we had dinner here recently and enjoyed the experience. The menu was a bit quirky in terms of food mixtures, but we did enjoy. The bar got very loud as the meal progressed
Our entire experience was excellent. Wonderful server, fantastic drinks and absolutely amazing and creative food! We truly enjoyed the entire experience!
Great restaurant! The food and service were awesome!
Delicious & interesting food. Very unusual recipes that tasted great. But even though the restaurant wasn't full, you had to shout to be heard. Twice the waiter was unable to hear an order and once he misheard and delivered the wrong item. According to my iPhone app, the average sound level was 85dB (about the level of city traffic or a passing truck). Way too loud to be enjoyable.
Dining a aMUSE. really was a wonderful experience. The service was great. The food was unique and fun. The chef was very accommodating to dietary restrictions. We had the chef's tasting menu, which really made the evening an experience to remember. I would highly recommend aMUSE!
Service is great! Food is unique and excellent. If you like chess engine even a little, share a cheese platter to start. Then move on to excellent mains. Really a special place.
Interesting food and wine, excellent server! Will return next time we are in Rehoboth.
I was looking forward to the meal at a(MUSE.) as I had read a good article about them and the fresh, locally grown concept appeals to me. Had a beet salad that was quite good. My scallops were cooked perfectly and very good, but the accompaniments left something to be desired, at least for me. The sauce was okay (well, I'm not a fan of mushrooms and I should have expected this), but there were potatoes as well that were hard and tasteless to go with the scallops. I had hoped for more. My husband thoroughly enjoyed both of his courses.
The food was wonderful and service excellent. We changed our reservation from 4 to 5 just a few hours earlier and they were very nice to accommodate us. We also requested a quiet corner since we dined with a 92 year old with hearing issues. Our table was the perfect location and we all enjoyed a memorable evening. Our server was VERY knowledgeable about the interesting menu.
We look forward to dining there again in the future.
Hari Cameron is an artist and each of the dishes is as delicious and savory as they are beautiful. He just keeps getting better! He uses the freshed most colorful ingredients cooked to perfection and presented exquisitely
We chose Amuse and partook in the Chef's five course tasting menu, along with selected wine pairings for our last vacation dinner in Rehoboth. Certainly glad we did. Without doubt, this was among the finest meals we ever had (this includes restaurants all over the world). Fresh, subtle, well flavored, unique, impeccably plated etc., etc., etc. Wines that I didn't think would work, matched perfectly with every course.
Amazing...don't miss this one when in the area.
I've dined at quite a few establishments in Rehoboth and have been disappointed by several that are highly-rated. But Amuse did not disappoint! Perhaps it's the farm-to-table, but I swear you can taste the freshness, the richness of the food. I had a scallop dish and one of their most amazingly creative desserts (blue cheese, celery, almonds, port) as well as a cup of delicious coffee (from The Point, another local establishment). We dined outdoors and even on Labor Day weekend, the atmosphere was serene and peaceful. The hostess was lovely and even suggested what three seats at the 4-top my girlfriends and I should sit for the best view. Our server was exceptional. This place is a true gem among the Rehoboth restaurant scene. I'll be back next year (if not before).
Hari Cameron has taken food to a whole new level at a(Muse). It's nothing fancy or frou frou, but if you're looking for outstanding flavors, textures, and combinations, this is the place. Each bite is perfectly balanced of savory, salty, crunchy, soft, with umami thrown in for good measure, and sometimes a hint of sweet. He always knocks it out of the park with his food. And his staff is professional, kind, and engaging. They work as a team, and each do their best to ensure the best experience for the guests. We have seen this happen only in the finest restaurants. And by finest I do not mean most expensive, but those with the most regard for the food and the customers and experience.
Our oldest son was visiting and we wanted to take him to some place special. We were all treated to some fantastic food, excellent service, and a terrific table. Our son was truly impressed and we were very glad that we had taken him to aMuse.
I started, as I always do, with the pickled vegetables. I love them, as well as they way they are served. I followed that with the Blue Crab, finishing with the Bennett Peach dessert. All were excellently prepared, imaginative and flavorful. I had a friend with me, visiting from Palm Desert, CA, and she was equally impressed. I love this restaurant. I always leave feeling satisfied and not uncomfortably stuffed. I tend to order from the appetizer menu, as opposed to "Mains". It enables me to explore more dishes. Service could not have been better. Kudos to everyone at a(Muse).
This chef is probably the most talented in Rehoboth. There are some unique combinations, the menu can come off as affected/pretentious, but the elements come together on the plate. I love that we can sit outside in nice weather but indoors is cozy too.
We love a(Muse)! It's certainly not a place we could visit daily as it is costly, but we feel it is worth every penny. Chef Hari is a mad-genius in the kitchen. The food is always surprising but always excellent. Highly recommend doing the chef's tasting and letting him work his magic!
Great for food but service needs a lot of work, we brought out 8 year old with the understanding that last time we were there the hostess said they would be happy to make a pasta dish, the waitress said they couldn't do it I explained and she said She could go across the street to another restaurant which specilizes in pasta and do that since it was early. That changed a couple of minutes later to I could go, I did go and got my daughter the pasta and that was fine. In the mean time my food had just arrived and it was great, I had decided to just get small plates and had the fried foie gras and sweet breads, my wife had the cheese plate and the buttermilk dip. The food was excellent but the server just wasn't good. I was thinking about the lamb tartare but the waitress didn't return to check on on us so I couldn't order it. The waitress brought my daughter another lemonade and said she looked thirsty which was nice for her to do, she did try to take the liberty of putting that on the check also even though it wasn't requested. She did take it off after I pointed it out.
I don't go to restaurants to train servers and don't feel it's appropriate to summon management at what is supposed to be a fine dining establishment but I believe maybe I should have.
Service wrecked the meal. Our initial server seemed very attentive. Our subsequent server was completely flummoxed when she brought our order to the wrong table. Eventually she sorted it out but she ignored us when we offered to help. We hated the popcorn desert - supposedly a favorite. They did take it off the bill. Appetizers and main courses were good. I'm not rushing back.
One of the best meals I have ever eaten. Food was inventive, perfecly seasoned and beautifully plated, with interesting combinations of flavors and the freshest of ingredients. Service was attentive, super friendly and very knowledgeable. Cocktails and wine list complimented the menu. Dinner lasted all evening - but that was because we were enjoying the entire experience. Cannot wait to go back. AMAZING!
The chef at aMuse is wonderful and every dish is innovative, creative and a treat for the palate. Although the food and service were both exceptional, we were seated next to a large family in town for a wedding, and the noise level was a bit higher than we would have liked. Otherwise, I'd have rated everything about the place 5 stars!
The food was great! The pickled vegetables was a fun snack to share with the table. My halibut was perfect. Everyone else at the table enjoyed their meals.
Although this is their 4th summer, we hadn't found a(MUSE) yet. We had flatbreads, a beet salad, "clam" - more on that below, halibut and scallops. The food was just terrific - beautiful to the eye and palate, interesting combinations without being too precious. Do ask about preparations because the menu is a bit minimalist. "Clam" for example is a large clam diced, surrounding by potato pearls, celery bites and buttermilk sauce and served in the shell. The quality of service is far above what we expect at the beach. Sit outside on a nice evening -it's quieter than inside. These are Bethesda prices but worth it.
If you are interested in giving control to the kitchen a(MUSE) is a great find. We selected the 5 course sampling menu and after the server took our preferences (and "can't eat that") we experienced a delightful surprise every time the server returned to our table with the next course. Each course made sense and with the limited guidance we had provided the chef was able to zero in on exactly what our tastes were! Oh...and each course was expertly prepared! What great fun and very much worth giving up control.
My husband and I went for dinner on the last night of our beach vacation and opted for the 7 course tasting menu. The offerings were amazing - the sweetbreads, scallops and duck breast deserve special mention. The service was a tad slow but I think it was due to the fact that the tasting menu was customized for each table. I would definitely return.
Our first visit to the restaurant and all was excellent. Meat and fish cooked exactly as specified. Flavor unique. We will be back soon.
Inventive food. Well prepared. We choose outside because inside was cold and we did not bring sweaters. Don't choose outside option. There's a restaurant next-door with a vent hood who's fan blows noise into the outside seating of this restaurant.
I've eaten here before and been pleased. Tonight they blew it.
Servers brought wrong dish to table. I mentioned that I had ordered the tuna, not the halibut and they left it anyway. I could see they knew they were putting down the wrong dish but they left it anyway. Waitress came by and took it away. Replacement was way over cooked. I asked for the third dish to be seared properly, like I originally ordered. The third time they brought just the tuna streak on a plate - nothing else on the plate. So I'm expected to eat just a Alan of tuna without any of the sauces or accompanyments? And it was still overcooked, just like tuna from a can.
Mostly bringing the tuna by itself on a plate was unforgivable. Step up your game team.
Yes. They took it of the bill but the damage was done and I would have prefered my meal.
Some creative dishes. Excellent scallop entree. Halibut also was very good but a bit overcooked. Anchovy app. was very pricey: only 3 small anchovies for $9. Pickled vegetables were terrific. We ended up spending nearly $100 on alcohol. Beer prices were reasonable but mixed drinks were a bit high. I'd suggest reducing martinis from $11 to $9.50 or $10.
My Kobe steak was nearly inedible from all the fat in the cut. To top it off, the "sides" it came with consisted of some plain semi-cooked onions and still-hard, flavorless baby potatoes. Really disappointing, esp for the price.
One of the best experiences we have ever had for our Anniversary Dinner. The food was great, the service was amazing with the perfect setting. I will definitely recommend our waitress, I believe her name is Megan... She was able to recommended the best wine to pair the cheese. Try the blue crab salad, the ahi tuna and the crab cakes. Delicious!
The food was quite good but the service was very erratic. We had to wait a long time between courses, and we are the type that likes slow. There seemed to be some confusion on the part of our waitress, who although was trying hard, definitely had some sort of issue going on.
Will most likely not go back. We went with the chefs choice and did not seemike he took his time with the menu. It seems like he just threw things together half assed
