Been several times, and this place does not disappoint. If you are not one to experiment with new flavor combinations, stay away.
Started with the always-on-the-menu potted chicken with toasted bread tiles. It was a wonderful appetizer. It was not a scarf it down app, you had to spoon it out, so it filled the time until the entree showed up. It is the many flavors of chicken!
My entree was fresh bucatini with homemade crumbled sausage, cherry tomatoes and herbs. The pasta was dense and the sausage was so flavorful.
I always recommend aMuse, and last night was a fabulous fine dining experience.
Had the tasting menu. The ingredients were local and fresh. The portions were large for a tasting menu. The kitchen was flexible. The server was knowledgeable. The dishes were generally rich, maybe too much so for a tasting menu. Did not find the dishes that creative.
Halibut chowder was absolutely perfect. Silky smooth, nice chunks of fish, Generous portion, seasoned just right. We had soup and split three starters in order to get a wider sampling. No disappointments
Service was good during most of the evening, restaurant was very busy. Would definitely return and try an entree.
From first to, well, not exactly worst, but a great disappointment. Food was still very good, but in general it wasn’t supported by comparable service, knowledge or attitude.
During our prior visit to Rehoboth Beach, we found Amuse to be both stellar and memorable. Our experience made us look forward to returning, and being wowed once again with the chef’s tasting menu and catered to by a crew who took delight in sharing a deep affection for each plate; a sommelier’s respect for not only the wine list itself, but a care in serving it and a level of professionalism commensurate with the pricey menu.
Wasn’t to be this year, I’m afraid. Servers had little understanding of either the food or wine. Bread (really good btw), had to be provided by a manager, as our waiter(s) never bothered. We mostly poured our own wine (not a biggy, other than as measured against the cost of the meal). Quite frankly, while there was plenty of help, they seemed to be literally running in circles or chatting with their friends.
Again, the food was unique, but I would think that Chef Hari could put a better frame around his art. He's done it before…I do hope that Amuse regains all the attributes that we fondly recall from our first visit. Our most recent left much to be desired.
A wonderful dining experience! Was so curious to see what this restaurant was all about. Chef Hari Cameron has done a terrific job. Fresh ingredients (much locally sourced), well-prepared food, and excellent options lead to outstanding meals. Diners have a chance to try new things and indulge.
I had heard of a(MUSE) for over a year, and on a recent trip to Delaware, decided to swing through.
Some reviews have complained about slow service, but on the first Wednesday after Labor Day, everything was perfect. Service was attentive, but not unobtrusive, and timing was just right for a relaxed meal.
The Matty 73 cocktail (gin - lemon - sparkling wine) was refreshing and not sweet.
The OCMD scallops and squash were excellent, as was the Atlantic Halibut. Cheesecake with honey peach reduction made for an outstanding desert, very light, and more like cheesecake mousse spread on a very crispy bed of what was described as graham, but much tasier and crunchier.
a(MUSE) is not cheap, but provided the best dining experience I have had anywhere in Delaware.
This was our second visit. The wait between courses was terrible and there was no apology or offering of food in between. We arrived at 7, ordered apps and entrees, was served apps by 7:45 and dinner at 8:22. No offer of bread or anything else to pass the time. Restaurant was not full. We had a reservation. No apparent reason for delay. Disappointing... lack of communication from management or staff. FYI/ two apps were cold- tartare and cucumber soup. No reason for such a delay.
Top-notch dining in a relaxing ambiance...we thoroughly appreciated our 5-course 'tasting' menu experience...with chef-selected ingredients, all beautifully prepared, presented and served professionally in well-orchestrated coordination by the friendly staff (thanks, 'Danny'!).
Seriously, this was among our more memorably excellent dinners....Well done, a(Muse) team. With the beach 'off-season' approaching, we'll return soon .
When ever I am in Rehoboth I always make a reservation for Amuse. I have been going there since they opened. I love the creative and innovative dishes that Chef Cameron offers . His tasting menu is truly outstanding and memorable!!!!! Sadly though this last visit was a huge disappointment for my birthday. The service was not at all up to the level of what I had previously experienced there . our server was dressed as if she was headed out to a local bar - white tee shirt that was way to tight and see through. I can appreciate trying to create a laid back relaxed vibe , but it was just not appropriate for a fine dinning restaurant She took our drink orders which was 2 glasses of San juliette cab wine. She brought us 2 glasses of sangria. Then asked for our appetizer order. We never were asked for out entree order, so when another server stoped in to check on us - we told him we would like to place our entree order. When our server finally stoped at our table and asked us if we wanted to place a desert order, I told her you never took our entree order which we placed with another server already. Her response was " you did not tell me you wanted an entree" ???? her attitude was hostile, as if it was our responsibility to follow up with when our entree order would be placed! There was no discussion of any additions to the menu or chef specials or ability to hear how entrees where prepared - nothing! The restaurant was about 30% full at the time, yet she seemed a bit overwhelmed with a large party 6 she was covering as well . I will say that the the other server did try to make up for the mix up with a complimentary glass of champagne ( but sadly I cant not drink champagne). part of the experience of dinning at a foodie restaurant like Amuse is to hear about the creative dishes that Chef Cameron has created . That was clearly missing this time .
I recently visited aMuse for my boyfriend's birthday. He is a chef and I'm a pescetarian so we are a little hard to impress/ please -- and it was FANTASTIC. The service was friendly, knowledgeable, and fun. The environment was romantic, chic, but not stuffy. Overall, one of the best restaurants I've been to in a long time.
We started with softshell crab and char-grilled fava bean appetizers. The fava beans were still in their shell so you had to eat them out like edamame. They were sprinkled with old bay and had a slightly spicy dipping sauce - absolutely delicious. We then split a main dish, halibut, which was perfectly prepared. Then the desserts! He had a pot brownie, which was layered in a planting pot with a little plant popping out of the top. I had caramel popcorn dish that was deconstructed popcorn, ice cream, and caramel. Both very creative and delicious. Additionally, we both had cocktails - I had the hot and dirty (dirty martini with sriracha vodka) and the French martini. He had a sidecar.
Absolute gem. Can't wait to go back. Will probably do the tasting menu.
The four of us selected the tasting menu so all the courses were a surprise. Some were ok, others not so much. The desert was the best course of all. However we were all still hungry when we left. If we went back we would only order off the menu. Very expensive. Service was excellent though.
EVERY RESORT HAS THIS LITTLE KNOWN, SIDE STREET RESTAURANT THAT BEATS ALL THE OTHERS IN TOWN. THIS LITTLE GEM BELONGS TO REHOBOTH BEACH. STYLISH AND CREATIVE WOULD DESCRIBE THE ATMOSPHERE AND CUISINE. THE OUTDOOR SEATING IS ALSO FUN AND CASUAL. WE LOVED IT. WE ARE VERY IMPRESSED. THANK YOU ALL.
Restaurant claims new menu printed everyday based on chef's daily choices; however, we were one of the first tables seated at 6:30 and there wasn't any Sauvignon Blanc despite half a dozen choices on menu or "pole bean salad" despite being a featured salad. In addition, my braised lamb dish turned out to be overdone Lamb Parmesan and my partners pork dish was covered in whole tomatillos and whole peppers. Not very original nor appetizing. Certainly not worth the money and doesn't align with all of the raving reviews. Nice wait staff though.
