Delicious sushi, some of the best in the Orlando area. Will definitely return.
we try to get in there at least once or twice a month, we go mainly for the sushi. they have so many varirties it is hard to choose just a few rolls. everything is always fresh and has a great presentation. our server henry was very knowledgeable about the sushi and the questions we had, and took great care of us during our meal.
After making a reservation on Opentable with confirmation number and arriving at the scheduled time, Amura had no record of our reservation, fortunately it was not needed and we were seated immediately. We recently moved from Chicago to Lake Mary and were concerned about finding the same calibar of restaurants. I'm happy to say Amura will definitely be our new sushi restaurant. Wine list was average, but our waiter was outstanding-Tyler provided excellent customer service, very attentive, and friendly. Our overall dining experience was A-
Had an email for a discount, but when it printed it didn't put a conformation # on the page with the discount, so I had the wrong page. They were not going to honor it, so I had to call a friend who had the same email and get them to send it to me. Then "forgot" to give me back my gift card that still had $ on it. Had to ask for it. Never had problems here before, though my friend said they did that with his gift card also.
The sushi is always great here ! The rolls and sashimi are always an excellent choice. Also love the seame chicken.
We got the appetizer sampler, a bunch of different sushi rolls, and dessert. Everything was amazing. There is a ton of selection on the menu and some of the food/sauce combinations are unexpected but delicious. Great restaurant for a date or to meet up with friends.
Great sushi, great place... the chef visited our table and asked us about how was everything and even gave us some recommendations for next visit.
Top quality sushi served in a nice atmosphere. Excellent variety for those who don't like sushi with a good Japanese menu. Accommodating service. Always and excellent choice and my go to place for sushi.
Amura has great food, great drinks and offers great fun for groups of all sizes. Highly recommended!
Outstanding Food, very careful asking for food allergies, service outstanding and great selections at the bar.
Amura sounds Japanese but really "Asian" including Japanese (sushi, sashimi good), Korean, and Chinese. First visit - sat at regular table. Have not tried Teppan dining.
Had a great overall dining experience. Food was superb as expected and a great atmosphere. I requested a table in a quieter/personal section, but got the opposite. That's really the only complaint I have and even then it didn't ruin my night. I'll be back very soon =)
Great server! Fast service and excellent food!
We went there just for the sushi, it is about the 10th time we have been there and we have yet to be let down. The food is excellent, service is great, made a reservation for 8pm, got there 5 minutes early, got seated right away even though there were others waiting for tables. The sushi is fresh made on the spot, very nicely displayed on the platters they serve it on, and it taste as good as it looks.
We will not eat sushi anywhere else, Amura is our sushi restaurant.
Let me start off by stating how much my boyfriend loves the sushi there and that I love the ladies night martinis. With that being said, the music was incredibly loud, the server ignored me a lot (hence why I tipped just below 20%...we usually tip about 50% for high-end places), and when I asked for a drink to go, he almost spilled the drink on me and it had a broken lid. And when I tried to flag someone down about getting the lid replaced, I was avoided by everyone. I just didn't understand why. I was polite abs even apologetic when I asked to switch from a tea to a diet soda. They, especially mike, need an attitude adjustment.
Amura is by far the best sushi in Orlando. We have been to several other top 10 rated sushi restaurants in Orlando, but nothing compares to Amura's sushi and eel sauce!
It was great as always... except for the screaming children, which I suppose they can't help. We love Amura lake mary!
Went to Amura on Friday. They had a great happy hour on Fridays before 7:00 PM. when we went to order the server said she did not know about any happy hour. We asked for manager and he advised at first that they never had happy hour on Fridays which was the first lie. Then he changes his story to maybe they had over 6 months ago. Then after I showed him my last open table reservation he said they may have stopped in June and he said sorry and walked away. We should have left then as if the manager for over 10 years doesn't care how can the rest of the staff. 1 roll was wrong and told that once sushi is at table, customer pays regardless if wrong or bad! Nice policy. You lost a loyal customer! This confirms the other poor reviews!
Amura's used to be a favorite but not any more! It's been about 6 mos. since we've visited this location and it's gone completely downhill. Horrible service from our waiter who had no smile or personality and not knowledgeable about the menu or drinks. No accommodation was made when they were out of the entree my husband had ordered (it was only 6:30 when we were there) and they didn't tell him until 15 min after we ordered. My sushi came out ahead of his entree, so I ate alone and was almost finished when his arrived. Sushi rolls were not packed well and fell apart when picking up. Steak entree my husband ordered came out "well done" instead of "medium". Was a total disaster and we will not be going back. Save your money.
Terrible customer service, the food was tasteless, the menus misleading and they sat ourparty of 6 right next to another couple in a cramped corner when the entire restaurant was empty...we asked to be moved they said the other tables reserved. 2 hours later restaurant still empty and only a few people there. After spending a large sum of money they couldn't even comp a dessert for husband whose 62 birthday we celebrated. A 6.95 dessert and its not their policy. Would never recommend this place to anyone!!!! I am a business owner and if my manager treated my customers the way Amura's manager treated us she' d be fired immediately...
I have been dining at Amura for quite a few years and used to love it. The service is not as great as it used to be. I am very disappointed in the drinks. I was there ladies night last week and the $2 Martini's tasted as if their was no alcohol in it. I asked the server if they put less in them because its the $2 special. He said yes.... It is what it is. My friends and I finished our meal then walked to one of the neighboring restaurant bars to have a few drinks instead. I dine their on other nights and have always enjoyed a few Martini's. I am very disappointed that they would do this and will rethink dining here in the future.
Came a little early, spoke with the Manager, who took very good care of us. The server was also good, but busy, that took a little away from the overall evaluation, and there was mis understanding on the bill, but it was resolved. A good overall impression and we will be back.
Terrific experience taking a group of 11 people for lunch. Even the people that do not like sushi enjoyed their bento boxes! Sushi was fresh, well presented and a great variety of options. I would have liked to have a sushi menu that explained what was in each roll, but the servers knew so it worked out just fine. We will definitely be back!!
Food was great but the appetizers were served at different times some of arriving with the main entries. Disorganized food delivery although the taste was excellent.
Best Sushi anywhere I've had in the Orlando area.
Good food and service. We go there on just a whim each time and have always gotten a table right away. Would recommend to anyone that loves sushi or hibachi dining.
When I made the reservations I was asked to specify Teppan seating or regular seating. I specified Teppan. Don't bother! They don't look at it and don't care. The hostess could not be less interested in what the reservation requested. Service was horrible. There were 5 of us and each meal ordered came out at a different time. Quality of food was poor, service poor, will not be returning. VERY unsatisfied!!
The food was ok. The service was utterly horrible. Drinks always empty. Took over half an hour to get wasabi and ginger and that was after asking another server to get it for us. Had to ask for boats and for plates. Very very frustrating. Will not go back. Sushi menu needs work really dark inside could barely read the fine print on tjis long paper menu. Never seen a manager at all. Nobody stopped by to see if the food was good or if we needed anything. Hostess was notppleasant and had zero personality.
Service, food and ambience is what always keep us going back, specially service. The sushi is definitely the best in the area.
Amura has the best sushi in Central Florida.
The atmosphere was good. However, there were a few things that cheapened the experience and made Amura seem overpriced for the quality.
1. We felt rushed the entire time. For example, Edamame came out within 5 minutes of ordering (smallest portion of any restaurant I have been to), and our sushi came out literally 1 minute after.
2. The sushi presentation was sloppy. While the taste was okay, the rolls fell apart once touched.
Overall, Amura is overpriced for the quality of food and service you receive. I would recommend visiting any other sushi place, including the Orlando Amura, that is at the same price point for better quality and service.
Fabulous food, gracious server but the manager had an arrogant attitude, and acted as if we were an annoyance when we made a special request. The pre-dinner salads took nearly 20 minutes to deliver. We will definitely give it another try, because of the food.
We always love to eat at Amura's, so that's why we planned a Birthday outing celebration there on Saturday, April 20th.
We had a party of 8, so we made reserverations for 7:30. We completed the form as requested and indicated we wanted the main dining area.
When we got there, the hostess didn't know what section we wanted. She asked several times if we wanted the Hibachi area. Our reservation was for 7:30 and we did not get seated till after 8:45.
We saw another large party of 8 or more get seated before us. We knew someone in the party and they said they didn't even have reservations, but they still got seated before us.
No one apologized for the wait either. We will not make reservations again as it did not improve our w
We always make it a point to dine at Amura for the special occasion - this was for our anniversary. ALWAYS enjoy the sushi.
Sushi at its best. Say no more!
The food was great, but our waiter wasn't very attentive. She only came to our table when she took our order, to deliver the food and to give us our checks. I needed a refill and she was available. Other servers we very busy attending their tables that stopping by ours wasn't an option. Needless to say we missed out on our "Happy Hour" specials because of that. That did put a damper on our "Ladies Night Out". Otherwise, I
do not have any other complaints.
The fish is always so fresh, the service impeccable. The place is very clean and we love Amura (Lake MAry)
In my opinion the food has gone down at Amura. Additionally in my last 4 visits there was something wrong with my order. The service has always been just average.
Amura has the best sushi in the world.
I love this place, we always eat from the Hibachi but since I am on diet now I decide to try the sea bass and it was delicious my boyfriend had the volcano roll that is our traditional roll there, and it was great as usual!
