Amura - Downtown
Wasn’t the Amura I expected- the space is extremely tight and small. Staff seems to be running like a chicken with out a head
Going to a show
We were going to a show at the performing arts center and met as a group before hand. Everything was great. And we got to the show in plenty of time. The food is just awesome!
Pre-concert meal near downtown venue. No wait on our table. Pleasant staff. Waiter was attentive. Enjoyed both appetizers and both “pressed /sushi rolls.
Food sucked. Overpriced. Manager was very professional and generous. Waiter was okay:
Our waiter Nick was professional, funny, accommodating and delightful. He was knowledgeable about the menu and if he didn't know the answer, he willingly found the answer.
Terrible disappointment. Understaffed and sushi took over one hour for people. We were advised by waiter to get hot food because we were waiting so long as were others so we ordered Udon and it was awful. Dirty spoons with lipstick all them, greasy tempura for Udon and appetizer of Calamari was just as greasy. The worst meal ever at an Open Table restaurant! Completely ripped off for eighty dollars and not one reduction in price offered. Restaurant was full of mad people. Oh and there is no
Liquor license here but they have quarter glasses
of wine. There is NOTHING good to say.
Reservation was @ 6:15, got seated right away, ordered by 6:30, told waiter we were going to a play. We ordered a sushi dinner (12 pieces nigiri) & 1 roll. Food took a long time - waiter was good, but was nerve wracking. Finally got food about 7:15, giving us about 15 min to eat!
The restaurant was only half full, had 3 sushi chefs working. They take orders to go. We think that was the issue, they made dine-in patrons wait, due to to-go orders. Bad plan.
I would not go again if we have time constraints. Otherwise, food & service was good.
Could be a 5 when the reno is done.
Amura is consistently one of the finest restaurants in town for great sushi.
Even though it was a very busy Saturday night, we were seated quickly. We were in and out in about an hour, which was great because we had a Broadway show to see. Our server was polite and did his job well. I would have liked a drink menu so that I could see that the house Chardonnay I ordered was $9/glass, which was a bit of a surprise, but other than that, everything was perfect. Sushi was delicious as usual!
Great service, great food
We really enjoyed our time at Amura! The service was great and the staff very friendly! We split edamame and each got a signature roll and everything was perfect! We look forward to coming back!
The sushi chef was 40 minutes behind on orders and the hostess seemed unorganized. The restaurant was dirty and the plates were not sterilized one bit as they were greasy.
Great sashimi. Good service
This is by far the best Japanese restaurant we have found in Orlando. The sushi is always fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. The entire menu is outstanding. They are always adding great, unique specials and the main dishes are excellent. We also love all of the noodle bowls. The service is wonderful, they are very attentive, helpful and they are very knowledgeable about the menu. Overall it is a wonderful place and I highly recommend it!
Food was great but very slow to come out. Waited about an hour to get food! Thus eating was rushed to make it to the show on time.
Girls night out
Glad we made a reservation because it was crazy busy ( concert in near by venue). Our server was attentive and mentioned there might be a wait for our food. It was not really that long a wait.
Mexican roll was delicious crunchy tempura shrimp and my husband enjoyed his mackerel nigiri.
We were in and out in about an hour and 15 minutes
Great dinner. Sushi was exceptional. Service friendly but not overbearing.
Been here a couple times and always good. They have also been willing to build custom rolls when I want something not listed on the menu. Our server was very sweet and kind. I'll be back for sure.
They did not have the tuna belly or yellow tail belly which was a draw for us. We were not impressed. They were friendly.
When Amura downtown changed ownership, I was not sure how I would like the new owners. I am really pleased. They have stepped up the menu, and the sushi is more imaginative and really delicious. We dine there every couple of months, before heading to the theatre. They accommodate our schedule and always make us feel welcome.
As always, great service!
Took my mother here for her birthday and was beyond impressed. Everyone is so nice, Kiara was very knowledgeable about the menu and everything tasted very fresh. Will always recommend and continue to bring friends and family.
Excellent service and our host was great!
We all were very impressed with the quality of the food and the creative way to display it.
The restaurant was not full and our food get more than 1 hoyr to get served.
I’ve eaten a lot of sushi all over the US and must admit that Amura is in my top 3 now. Excellent variety of rolls, unique sashimi/fish selections and the staff is extremely knowledgeable about sushi and their menu in general. Also, they have a wide variety of sakes and Japanese beers. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place!
My only complaint was the restaurant kept my credit card and it was the manager who took the bill. I did not notice until the next morning and of course they were closed so I had to cancel my card. They had my contact info via Open Table but made no attempt to contact me.
We waited an hour and still didn’t have food so we left. The restaurant was full, no wine me seemed to have food. It was a terrible experience
Overall it was a great dining experience. It took the waitress a while to get to our table and they were not busy at all. The food was great. The brain storm roll was delightful.
We love Amuras but this night the George Strait concert pulled in many extra diners and our service was not good. May have bee she was new, not sure, but this experience was not our normal.
This restaurant is a very cool place. Several sushi chefs sending out tons of food. The food was INCREDIBLE - I have eaten sushi all across America and this place rates at the top. The Bamboo Wine Roll was the best.
Best Sushi in Orlando hands down. Ninja Crunch Roll and Ultimate Roll are a must.
Excellent food and service. A bit pricey for amount of sushi but very good, very freash, and service was great.
amazing food with great service.
Very very good quality food and wonderful presentations!
My wife and I went to Amura for dinner. We got a bottle of Sake, and there was way too much! A bottle would probably suit 4-5 people, so this would be great for groups. We both got the lobster bisque (which was great) and ordered off the Sushi menu which was plenty of food. Let me cut to the gist and tell you what you need to order: Volcano rolls. WOW! Those rolls are fantastic. I ordered some other sushi which was also good but the volcano rolls blew me away.
Fantastic sushi! The best sushi in the U.S.
