Amsterdam Brewhouse & Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
There were six of us in Toronto for the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, and we needed a restaurant where we could have a nice dinner after the evening performance. We found the Amsterdam Brewhouse to be just the place! Good food at a reasonable price, and great ambiance. We would definitely go there again when we are next in Toronto.
I made a reservation for here for a surprise for my boyfriends birthday dinner after our helicopter tour and we arrived early and the hostess got us in early which was amazing. Unfortunately our service was awful and only got served apps within two hours and when we told our waitress we wanted our dinner (after giving her about an hour and a half to come see us which she never did) she walked over and dumped our bill on our table and left. We were so bummed and confused but Gina the manager was shocked and let us take home free beer. Overall, great place but really bad service which was so disappointing since we were so excited and the apps were good. Probably wouldn't go back.
Had 2 of my aunt visiting from Hong Kong, so brought them to Amsterdam Brewery for lunch since they are located right on the lake, we were seated right beside the window on a round table, they were amazed with the view right in the heart of downtown Toronto! Our waitress, Sarah, she was wonderful, fun and energetic, even on a Sunday morning! She made everything perfect for us and very attentive! Along with all the good food and amazing beer & cocktails, you can't go wrong here at Amsterdam Brewery :) Thank you
Great beer choices. Food good, yam frittes were awesome. Very noisy but ok for setting. Great view on waterfront. Waiter was very attentive but next night stopped for drinks, bar tender more concerned with bar clean up for closing, though 2 hours till close, then to bring us our tab. Would go back to eat.
We we’re late for 15 minutes for our reservation. The front desk staff is friendly and accompanied us to our seats and told us to call in advance next time if we’re gonna be late. But I guess it got busy, she forgot to give us our menu. And there’s this lady roaming around with a headset on, a Filipina I guess, with colored hair on ponytail. SHE’S ACTUALLY RUDE. Me and my friends are patiently waiting for whoever is getting our orders then this lady came saying. “Are you reserved?” “Did someone sit you here?” We said “Yes.” Then she said, “No, you’re table is not clean and you don’t even have a menu. Are you sure someone sitted you here?” We said “Yes.” again. “So what’s the name?” And ofcourse we said “We don’t know” The place is busy at that time, and I didn’t see the lady’s name tag that accompanied us to our seats. Then this Filipina lady just went off, maybe just to check if we’re really reserved. Then she just passed by us, she didn’t even say sorry. Maybe she send a waiter to help us but she just keeps passing by us without a word. This is our first time here and probably will be the last. I’ll be having second thoughts on inviting my other groups of friends here. I don’t know if the waiter is new, but he keeps forgetting our needs...drinks refill and CUTLERY. That’s okay. My food is okay, I like it (veggie burger). But 2 of my friends didn’t even finish their meal. It’s too dry and tasteless for them (ribs and fish and chips). I don’t usually give negative feedbacks, but I think I need to. THAT LADY IS SO RUDE. I was there to celebrate my birthday, and I really felt bad for telling my friends to try Amsterdam.
We were fortunate enough on this occasion to get a table upstairs on the patio overlooking the waterfront. The view was fantastic and the food and beer as good as always. The only disappointing part was the service, with the upstairs bar closed it took over 25 minutes to get our drinks refreshed.
We enjoyed our food and drinks but felt that the pricing was a little high for our meals, however, it is in a touristy area so that comes along with that. The place is huge but we had a table right near the water's edge inside so the view was lovely. The service was good and our food arrived HOT! A great spot along the water but I do recommend reservations as the lineup was rather long. glad we made some!
There were three in our party and it was t celebrate our daughter's birthday. We had booked, arrived early and were seated early which was admirable.
The food was not as good as we remembered from July 1st weekend when my husband and I visited. The waitress spilled the drinks. I had asked for the table to be wiped off but she never did wipe the sticky table off. The waitress just took the sticky drink and dumped it into another glass which resulted in the glass being sticky again. She should have brought a new drink not try to salvage a half spilled drink. She had spilled the drink on my arm and hand and never brought anything for me to clean up with however, was mainly interested in shoving another menu in my hand since my drink was not available that day.
Quite unsatisfactory service! It was our daughter's birthday and it was spoiled by poor customer service. Not sure if it is worth another trip.
Great Food & Service; especially since we decided to sit at the North-end Bar.
NOTE: The Fresh Oysters are excellent, as are the App's when combined with the 'Beer Flights'.
It's amazing to see the progress that's been made at ABH, under the 'Director of Operations' (Trevor Brodie); who dropped by to ensure that we were satisfied with our dining experience.
Nice touch !
The Patios (At different elevations) also offer a tremendous view of the Lake and spectacular sunsets.
We ate dinner before a concert at the ACC. Our meal was good overall, with a couple of exceptions.
The chicken in the Thai green curry was tough. It would have been more enjoyable without the chicken and with more vegetables.
The veggie burger tasted good but it was really messy to eat as the 'patty' was soft and crumbly.
The kids' cheeseburger was a big hit, as was the kids' pasta in butter, once we requested and received parmesan.
The pretzel was fantastic, as always, and so were the drinks!
We were seated on the upper level which gave us a great view of the marina next door. We enjoyed the view.
