Food was fine, drinks are generous.
Parking is a huge plus! But I really miss the Wiener Schnitzel ! Sad to see if off the menu.
The only problem was that the main dining room was closed and there was so much noise from the bar area that we had trouble hearing each other. They told us the dining area was closed because it was reserved. We left after a nice dinner after 9:00 pm at that time the room was dark, no lights. As usual We took my brother who, is in a nursing home, out to dinner at this restaurant as we do when we come From New Year and North Caroline every 4 to 6 weeks. The service and food were both great. I asked to talk to the manager but he never came out. We will continue to go to this restaurant as the food and service are great.
I wasn't crazy about my cocktail, but really enjoyed my food. Table was comfortable, service was good, and ambiance was good.
Always enjoy Ameheins. Great place, great people, great food. Thanks to all!
The lobster ravioli is delicious! Quaint and romantic, this restaurant is great for those who want great tasting food with a delicious wine over the ambiance of a candle lit dinner. Great place where you can actually hear the people at the dinner table talking.
Service was really slow and the food just ok. Also wish brunch was all day and not over at 2pm.
Great service and the steak tips were tender and delicious
I was very disappointed in mother's day menu. I was hoping for your great comfort food but we could only get breakfast menu. Most restaurants have a special menu in that da yu with their best dinner choices. I can't see you serving that menu on Father's day
Oldvelle (as opposed to nouvelle) charm. A local favorite that withstands the test of time. We sat in the back where it was quieter, but if you are looking for lively the bar has plenty of that. Love this place!
We asked for a special table and were brought to a table in front on the kitchen doors. I asked several times why we could not eat in the dining room vs. the sports bar and never were accomodated. I finally asked to speak to the Manager and he told me it was a slow night and
they opted to not open the dining room which was a sneeze away from where we were seated.
No apologize or special treat, but said that Open Table does not communicate. Very poor service and accomodation on behalf of the Managment for sure. The Service staff was very nice, but not their fault.
This was my first visit to Amrheins. My wine glass had dried lipstick on it. The silverware looked dirty, though with closer inspection it seemed clean but needed polishing. The noise was almost unbearable. The food was very good and the service was excellent. The wine was very good. We had a reservation and when we arrived we were seated immediately. I had the lamb chops and the entree and sides were delicious. My friend ordered one of the salmon entrees, and was really pleased with the salmon and his sides. I would go there again to try other menu items. With just a few tweaks, this could be a 5-star restaurant.
I have been to this restaurant many times but the food on this occasion was a severe let down. Not sure if they have a new chef but we were dissatisfied for sure. :(
Love this restaurant great staff. great food had a great night with friends
Anthony our waiter was amazing. He was tentative, check in, brought drinks quickly and made my mother and I laugh.
The food was incredibly delicious, I would return if I’m in Boston again. The cocktail shrimp was amazing, and the lobster ravioli was the best I’ve ever had.
A wonderful find and couldn't ask for a nicer, more attentive waitress.
Reserved table at 7.30, sat eating at 8.30. Great night out.
Had a wonderfull time, one of my favorite restaurant.!!!
The menu was an eclectic mix of comfort food and healthy picks. Our server was attentive but not hovering and we had more than ample time to enjoy our meal and conversation and not feel rushed on a very busy night.
Great food an service. The bar had great drinks!
We had a great time on St Patrick's Day. The Brunch is always great here, too. I had the boiled dinner and it was a very generous portion, and it was fantastic! Will definitely return!
Celebrated my moms 80th bday here in St Pattys day and Erica took great care of us! Loved the turkey burger as well.
You almost had to scream to be heard - energetic is being very kind - it was horribly loud. My friend had chicken which was so tough it was inedible. I have to give credit to our waitress who was charming and helpful. Two other waitresses came over to the table in back of us - and leaning on the back of our booth - proceeded to enter into their conversation yelling as loudly as the customers. It was a most unpleasant evening and one I will never repeat
Visiting from out of town and took a hotel recommendation. WOW! What a find. I WILL return. We all tasted each dish and I want to return for the shrimp scampi. The beet salad was a great healthy alternative after a vacation full of eating. When I am back in Boston, I will definitely return. Prices are reasonable. The menu is diverse and the service was super. Friendly servers were great. The tiramisu dessert was a perfect end to the meal, too.
I have been having a monthly lunch here for eight years. I have found the food OK at best. But this week
I ordered the Neapolitan Calamari, it was outstanding. It should be on the main menu. Great flavor
and balance, a real treat, please do not take it off the menu!!!!
Short Ribs special was very good Service was very good also.
They didn’t have enough staff & those they did were churn & burn. They seemed exhausted. It was a struggle to get a refill on my coffee...at brunch. I’d been wanting to try the restaurant since moving here but it wasn’t much of an experience
Glad I made a reservation. It was lunchtime, but it was really crowded. The food was very good. I had the Salmon & my husband had the Fish & Chips. We both were happy with our meal. We shared a desert, Terimisu...very nice. We would go back, but would try to get there after the lunch crowd.
Very disappointed with this place. My omelette order was wrong and the drinks were 12 dollars. My sisters silverware was also dirty. Will not be going back.
Delicious food consistently ,attentive friendly service without being too much... awesome!
Our party of 4 had a delightful brunch. The french toast was excellent! Our server was a great guy.
great spot for sunday brunch. we lingered for three hours and were not made to feel rushed or asked to leave. Food and service very good. Parking a real bonus
Nice restaurant, good food but a little pricey but then again where is a cheap restaurant with good food.
The back room (which is quieter) was closed for a private party so we (my girlfriend and I, in our 70s) had to sit in the part near the bar and there was a large party of about 30 young girls who were extremely noisy, in addition to the music which was far too loud. So we could hardly hear ourselves speak and had to shout and repeat things the whole time. It was a miserable experience. It was perhaps a one-time thing, but ruined our evening. However, the food and service were very good.
Great food, great spot, only con was the music was rather loud at 6:30 so the conversation had to be elevated
Excellent food, our waitress Renee was awesome! Highly recommend and will definitely be back.
Enjoyable night and the food was good but the salads were small for the entree price we paid. I guess this is what it's like eating in Southie now. Drinks menu looked fine but again on pricey side. Comfy booth for our party but quite loud, especially for the older member of our party.
Awesome as always, go every week with family and frienda
Great place to meet for dinner on a cold winter night in Boston. We each chose a comfort food favorite and everything was delicious. Very friendly and attentive wait staff even on a busy night. Great acoustics - lively crowd but able to have a conversation at the table.
