So....this was a comically awful experience. Understanding that it was Valentine’s Day, we expected slowish service and that was okay. However, our server was just plain horrible. Our table as well as the table next to us was constantly forgotten. She didn’t take our entree or until over an hour after seating. Here’s the kicker, the restaurant was half empty by the time we were about to sit. It would’ve been understandable if it was jam-packed and she was slammed. However, that was not the case. All in all, the food was pretty decent but the service made the experience pretty...eh.
Very good describes most everything- food, ambiance, service but doesn’t cross over to great in anything
I love this restaurant. Wonderful atmosphere. Nice and bright and airy at the front! Delicious food. Wonderful pasta choices!
Italian food north of Eglinton seems well served, but we walked past a couple of places packed with people and no empty seats to Amore where the food was quite good and not as expensive as those others. The missus had the White Bass and the plate was more than she could eat and I had to help. My Calabria penne was done perfectly with just the right amount of heat.
Will give the others a miss and come back to Amore.
The server was friendly but the food was just fair. My guests enjoyed the veal sandwiches but the bacon/tomato special I had was just average. The bread was dry and the Caesar salad was flavourless. My mother's smoked salmon benedict eggs were cooked nicely but the smoked salmon was mostly dark and unappetizing. Some extra salmon was brought but half of that was dark as well. I like the restaurant and hopefully our average meal was just an anomaly.
My go-to restaurant in the neighbourhood. Never rushed, always cheeful and the food is good.
I've been a few times, and always enjoyed it. It's not too noisy, good wine selection, and the food is good.
Loved the food and exceptional customer service! Thank you for making my birthday very special and memorable.
FAntastic experience overall (as usual!). Food, service, atmosphere - everything.
Nothing special about Amore.
The food was average. Sauces were plain and pizza dough was rubbery. The Caprese salad had lots of salad and only a few morsels of Caprese. Went down the street for dessert.
Service was excellent. Menu was mostly pastas and pizzas! We had a marvelous time!
This was for my friend Ceci’s birthday. I also went there the Saturday before for my birthday dinner with friends. We were allowed to use the top floor for ourselves with a Prix Fixe menu that was really good. We got excellent service. The food was amazing. We will be definitely returning here. Thank you very much Amore!
Amazing food! Great service... I would definitely go back
Restaurant was stinky and the food quality wasnt great. Owners arent italian neither are the chefs. I witnessed one of the owners mistreating his staff. Waiter was great though he was very cheerful and helpful. For the price we paid we could have gone to a much nicer place.
This place was alright. Price was very competitive for similar restaurants in the area. About middle of the road.
Food was mediocre. Pizza was okay. Fish had little taste had to use salt and pepper from the table and it was supposed to be blackened. Service friendly but a bit slow as we needed to catch a show. Price range was fair. They honour reservations.
The food and service was very good. It was very comfortable and a very friendly ambience. Prices were slightly high for the portions though. We still had a wonderful time.
Were warmy greeted.
The server came to offer drinks as soon as we were seated.
The moderately priced wine, a shiraz was well worth the price.
Shared a margerita pizza as an appetizer that was thin crusted and we'll cooked.
Had a stuffed chicken breast special which was superb.
Closed with a cognac. Also reasonably priced.
Our server Elie was pleasant and efficient.
Overall a very good experience.
Great place to go for couples or small groups.
The was excellent!! Nice decor and music, really like this place.
Very good food but the service was terrible. We went on Valentines and the restaurant was not staffed to handle the number of people. One would think that on a day such as Valentines when all the restaurants are busy they would have added on extra staff.
Amazing staff, super friendly
Amore is a favorite go-to restaurant...love the reasonably quite atmosphere, the helpful staff, and their suggestions. I had their calves liver for the first time - always worried that it would get over-cooked and leathery. But no - it was cooked to perfection, and was washed down with a glass of Primativo wine...yum!
Went there for New Years Eve and it was packed, but to be expected. Service was exceptionally poor (group seated 10 minutes after us were served drinks before), waitress was curt and not very friendly. Food was ok - not bad, but nothing I'd come back for. Overall a decent place, nothing exceptional.
Although I have had good meals here before, choosing Amore for New Year's Eve was a big mistake. The restaurant was understaffed and so we received friendly but inadequate service. One meal was initially forgotten, 1 meal was lukewarm with another so cold it needed to be sent back. I noticed other tables also having to ask for things that should have been automatically brought (bread, steak knife, more wine). A very disappointing evening.
Loved the spinach eggs benedict!
It was fine

Picked this on OpenTable just because it was close to Absolute Comedy and seemed affordable. Prices were very good for the excellent quality of food. There were a wide variety of wines available for reasonable prices. There was a noisy party going on upstairs when we were there, but otherwise a quiet and romantic place. Staff were attentive and never disappeared for an unreasonable amount of time. I would expect much higher prices for the quality of food, service and atmosphere. It's a five minute walk from Yonge & Eglinton, so it's close to many other activities for the evening. I plan to return.
The food and service are always amazing!
A lovely experience. Solid food and decent wines. A great no-fuss dinner spot. Will definitely go back.
My husband and I spent a wonderful evening, and it only a ten minute drive from our house. The food was good, great wine choices, and wonderful services.
Enjoyed the food, wine, good and friendly service, good location, relaxed atmosphere
A great pizza place. Well done.
The women's washroom needs a lot of attention. Floors are wet, doors come off their hinges and generally kind of gross. Meals are more like a simple home cooked meal. This is not a high end restaurant. OK I guess if you like it simple.
Service was awful. We weren't served until the owner came around. Then the waitress would forget about us, spill wine (she did top it up after it was spilled), not serve us complimentary bread. We put our order in and the food came fast. Not a great thing. Made me think that there was no effort put into the food. We wanted to enjoy the time out, and felt like we were being pushed along. Asked for dessert menu and the waitress ignored us before sending someone else for the order. Overall, would not revisit which is a shame since this restaurant held some special memories for us.
Seafood linguine nice smoky buttery fresh taste, pasta with spinach and goats cheese tasty! Caprese was average. Staff attentive. Average price for the area.
Always a great time with great food and service
I have been going to the restaurant for over 20 years - and so glad that every time I go to the old neighbourhood, it is still there and still amazing!
One meal wrong.
Two meals undercooked and had to be re-cooked.
Staff responded well.
Amore was once a favoured midtown restaurant. After being disappointed on the last three occasions, it has now been removed from my go-to list. On this last visit, describing the food as mediocre is being kind. The service (once upon a time attentive) was terrible. Nomore Amore!
We had dinner at "Amore" for Mother's Day. It was very disappointing! The food quality was poor and tasteless. We didn't order anything estravagant, just calamari and pizza. The calamari salad was ok and there was enough to share which was nice but our main course was Pizza and it was not good. My husband could not find any hot Italian sausage on his. We asked the waitress about it and she said the sausage is sliced very very thinly. Well it was so thin you couldn't see or taste it. My pizza was mediocre and it wasn't very hot when it arrived.
