Amore by Wegmans
Our reservations were for 6:00 but our granddaughter's recital got out early at 4:30. I called to see if we could get in Amore early and they were very accommodating. Good food, service, and not noisy!😀💜
Delicious food and great service! The beet goat cheese salad was amazing and the fresh pasta was delicious. Stopped for dinner before going to the theater and was not disappointed
Outstanding food preparation. While main dining area is sometimes overwhelming in noise level the side dining area was perfect.
Amore is a fun place to go. After all, it is attached to a grocery store. Entrees have a special flair with tastes not found in other restaurants. Prices are on the high side as you would expect from Wegmans.
The seating is VERY cramped. Waiters and waitresses often pass by you sideways to get through. Also, the lighting is very poor. Very poor. Poor to the point that 3 couples near us had to use the flashlight on their phones just to read the menu. My wife was at that point as well but I pleaded with her not to.
I would recommend it because it is a one-off experience, but not if you are claustrophobic. Also, with portion sizes running counter to prices, folks needn't come too hungry.
I stopped in to the bar for a quick dinner before going to a meeting. My romagna salad and salmon entree were both delicious. Justin is a great bartender, very knowledgeable about all of Amore’s wines, beers and cocktails. The bar area was busy, but he handled all the customers very smoothly and efficiently.
I met one of my girlfriends for Happy Hour specials and 1/2 off bottles of wine! The food was delicious, timely and the atmosphere and service was perfect! :)
Decided to grab a bite to eat and we thought about Amoré as we haven’t been in a while.
Our waitress Zoe was pleasant. She knew her specials, and she gave great recommendations on what to order. Our food was accurate and timely. I had the wine pairing dinner, which our waitress recommended-it was a good value and the portions were just right for you to try at least four different entrees from the main menu. My husband had the pizza, which is his favorite! My daughter had the spaghetti which she enjoyed. The tomato pesto that they serve with the bread is out of this world. We will certainly be back. A perk - you can walk out and pick up a few grocery items if you needed to!
The service was great so was the food.
Authentic Italian food. Had the beat salad, shared a flatbread then a pasta for the main. All excellent. Combined with their house Chianti Classico it was a terrific meal.
We arrived 35 mins early to a 8pm reservation, told host #1 we had arrived and then went to sit at the bar. 15 minutes after our reservation was to be for, we asked host #2 how much longer the wait would be. host #2 told us they didn’t know we had arrived and that our table had been ready for some time. That was super frustrating. Also our entrees took so long to arrive at our table our server had boxed our appetizers for us and bagged them. Service that night was spotty and was left wanting. We’ve been another time before which was amazing. We were hoping for similar service.
Great food and service at Amore wine bar. The staff were friendly.
Food was delicious as usual. Service was excellent until server apparently forgot 2nd glass of wine. Manager got it immediately. I think our server became distracted by concerns at another table. Otherwise, very enjoyable but I think certainly a better value at lunch.
Always great. Pasquale does a great job.
I was pleasantly surprised at the ambiance and the food. The meal was excellent and we really enjoyed our time at the restaurant.
I was blown away by how exceptional the food, atmosphere, and service was at Amore. I will be coming back here again and again without a doubt.
It was very nice overall. The risotto special was great. The pizza special that was described as topped with a pork ragu was more like a pizza with pulled pork on top. It was tasty but not as expected.
The restaurant easily accommodated my request for a vegan meal and it was delicious!
Excellent choice for a Italian meal and wine. The service was outstanding and the wine selection was impressive. Highly recommend this restaurant.
Pizza , calamari are fantastic. Service is excellent! We love the ricotta pizza
Homemade pasta especially good. Excellent service.
One of my favorite places for lunch or dinner, or private party in the upstairs room. Zoe was a delight as my waitress twice in one week. The Spanish octupus was wonderful!!!
Ashley, as always, was wonderful! Courteous and professional. A real asset! It was the first time my friend and her son had been to Amore. They fell in love with the ambiance, excellent service, and sumptuous food. No one spoke as we ate. That’s when you know the food is amazing! The rest of the staff was lovely and should be praised for their amicable nature! Best place in town to eat at!!!
The best experience I’ve ever had! I will be returning for the good atmosphere, great wine, and amazing prices.
Zoe was a wonderful attentive waitress. Always enjoy the lunch - Caesar salad with anchovies and a pizza. My friend had the special - an eggplant parmigiana sandwich that covered the entire plate! Unfortunately no room for dessert this time!
Everyone has an "off" night - we've been to Amore many, many times, always been exceptional. This time, so-so. They weren't busy, but service was very slow, which is very abnormal. My oven-fired pizza was great, but they skimped on the pepperoni. And then, they were out of decaf espresso . . . . which my caused my friend to skip dessert. But, we'll be back!
Pasquale is the best! Since he has come to Amore, I always look forward to eating here, as I know the food will alwys be excellent!
The bar area was very nice to have a pre dinner drink. The food was all very good. Got a pizza to split as an app, had a great salad, and then split a pasta dish for dinner. Then had to have the home made dessert.
Food was great. Servers were wonderful. Well trained. A little slow bussing the table.
Amore is a great restaurant, and it's rather hard to digest the fact that it is owned and operated by a grocery market chain. I think it offers some of the best Italian food in the area along with the pleasure of a quiet setting. I give it 5 stars overall, but the food doesn't come cheap, for pasta is a rather inexpensive item, so the pasta dishes could and should be a wee bit less pricey. But... I'm not going to let the prices stop me from coming back for more of the Amore experience.
We arrived 20 min early. I asked if we could be seated . Our table was occupied. The hostess was very friendly and was able to seat us at a different table. Our server, arrived promptly, he was able to answer our questions. We both ordered the Barbabietola salad . It was perfect, just the right balance of beets ( there was a good amount which I liked) goat cheese with a delicious vinaigrette . For our entree we had Parmigiana di Melanzane. There was a very long wait between our salad and eggplant. The eggplant was warm . Our plates were cool and the sauce was cold not room temp. When I asked if the sauce was suppose to be cold I was told it is served at room temp. Mine was cold and half eaten when our server came by. I did not want to wait forever for a another entree. I would have preferred that my meal was warmer,it was tasty. We declined dessert. It was a busy evening, a bit noisy. We were able to carry on a conversation.
We love Amore because all their food is made right there and is so authentic. Servers and other staff are always friendly and smiling and they want to be sure the food is to our liking. We like the size of the restaurant and the fact that you can watch the kitchen action on the one side. Glad you have an Italian chef!
I had dinner with a friend who had never been to Amore before, but who loved Italian food. He was ecstatic about the food and service and the ambiance (he had the seafood entrée, the one like bouillabaisse). I made a convert of him. Wine recommendations spot on.
Celebrate end of radiation treatments
Our server was very knowledgeable of the menu, and was super helpful in navigating the gluten free menu. I have several food allergies in addition to gluten, so she checked with the kitchen see if they could make some accommodations. The kitchen did a phenomenal job managing my dietary restrictions. I don't eat out much because of the allergies, but our server and the restaurant manager went above and beyond to make sure I could enjoy a delicious meal. Thank you for taking the time to accommodate a difficult diet on a busy sat night!
This was our 1st time visiting this establishment and it was a great experience. The waitress put to memory our detailed order and she got everything correct. There was a family of six seated right next to us and once again the waitress took every ones order to memory and got it all correct. Overall, attention to detail and very personable staff members made it a special night.
The best Italian in Rochester! House made pastas (and gluten friendly is an option too!). The best octopus anywhere and the pizzas are something special. The service is on point as well.
While I enjoyed my meal , the lobster and pasta, my husband not so much. His potatoes were like warm and steak was mediocre. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and our waiter was extremely friendly. I had wished my husband enjoyed his meal as much as I did.
Restrooms were a little far away , we were sat upstairs. The private room was setting up for a 50 th anniversary so I imagine that it would be too far for some older guest , but the room looked beautiful to hold a gathering.
Dessert was also lovely , we had the gelato special.
Zuppa de pesce is outstanding and a great value. Beet salad and the various gelatos are also favorites.
My wife and I tried the tasting menu. We are still talking about how delicious the food was. The salad, pasta, salmon, and dessert were all outstanding. We can't wait to go back.
