Made reservations and still waited 45 minuets to be seated
The food & service was outstanding. I had the chicken mole enchiladas and they were great! My friend had the carnitas and loved them. The Margaritas were pretty good too.
We made reservations and our table was ready right away. We ordered the Brussels sprouts appetizer and it was delicious. I had the short rib burrito. It was big and delicious. Took half home to the hubby. Planning on bringing the husband back. Would recommend reservations. It was busy.
Food was amazing but service was horrible.
When they sat us down they dropped by some chips and salsa which where really good. No one stopped by to take our drink order until 10 minutes later. A guy then stopped by and apologized about the wait and explained that our waiting was a little busy. I was confused because that individual was our waiter the whole night. The waiter took our drink order, a Paloma and a Corazon. The waiter stopped by 10 minutes later saying he didn’t know why the drinks were taking so long, but he confirmed our drinks again, at this point I knew he forgot to put our drink order. He then took our food order.
About 13 minutes passed and they brought 1 drink, mine. I had never seen a restaurant bring only one drink when it was two people eating. 3 minutes passed by and our food came. At that point I was upset since we had our food but not one of our drinks.
We kept calm, never complained and just ate our food, 10/10. After we finished we asked for the check, in which we waited another 10 minutes.
The only reason I will return to this establishment, if I ever do, is for the food only. It’s sad to see the service this bad. The restaurant was not busy at all , it was around 5 o clock and there was a lot of empty tables.
Our server Roman made sure we were served consistently throughout the guest's birthday.
This restaurant is not your normal Mexican food. It has a high quality food menu and not the rice and refried style. Root vegetables and great sauces to go with their entrees.
Big hype about this place so finally decided to take a trip with my friends to check it out. There were a few things that I was not to fond about when we first got seated as we got seated on the side where no one else was being seated which was near the restrooms. We were the I lo customers who were sat there everyone else was being seated on the opposite side. We at first got quite a few waiters making sure we placed a drink order and came back to check if we were ready to order. After our food order was placed all went downhill for us. Never were we asked or had anyone come out to check if we needed anything else or even a refill on our drinks. It was totally as if we were the forgotten table keeping in mind that they knew it was our first time there. At the end of our meal I had to get up and ask for to go plates, a refill on our drinks and to see the dessert menu as that wasn't even offered. Our waiter ad well as two other employees were sitting at another table near us on their phones. After going through all of this and their customer service towards us we just decided on skipping dessert and just asking for our check. Totally disappointed on my first experience here and feel that this place might be a little too overrated.
Food was great, service was fast
Tacos awesome. Will go back to try other items on menu. Freshly made tortillas delish. Very attentive and awesome waitstaff. Can't say enough about nice they were to let my friend and I sit there to eat and catch up and not push us to leave. I am sure other restaurants wouldn't have been so understanding. They kept our drinks filled and the hostess even came by to let us know that we were ok to stay. That we could eat, sit and talk will tell you that the noise level is ok and we didn't have to yell to have a conversation. Will be back again !
The food & decor are amazing! Service is great! Staff is knowledgeable about the menu items. Margarita was delicious! Must try the Brussels Sprouts app, Chicken fideo soup, & churros! Everything we’ve tried there has been spot on!
Excellent food and service! Great for dinner before an event at Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts.
Great food and service. Would highly recommend for casual dinner or lunch---
Very nice welcoming waiters. Friends and I went during holiday season when companies are having holiday dinner so it was very loud. No biggie. Food was good churros were great ! Mango margaritas were so good !
The restaurant is very busy and a bit unorganized. Even though I had reservations for two I had to wait to be seated. We were seated next to the bathrooms in the middle of large parties with children making lots of noise and bit of bit too energetic for my taste. This is not a place for a dinner date.
Excellent ceviche de camerones (shrimp ceviche)! The noise level was loud at lunchtime, but the food was excellent. Friends liked the chicken quesadilla and the chicken enchiladas with green sauce. Chips and salsa are also delicious!!
A family favorite. Visit here every time we visit our son in college. Yum!!
Went to lunch here before going to show at Cerritos Performing Arts Center. I had the short rib taquitos
while my wife had the carne asada burrito. We found the meat in the burrito more tender and juicy than in other mexican restaurants. The short rib taquitos recommended by the waitress were a delicious change of pace. The center is only 5 minutes away, so this makes a very convenient and delicious option before the show.
I loved this place. It is highly rated and nearby my hotel for a business meeting. I took two other colleagues because I was looking for authentic modern Mexican cuisine. We hit the jackpot!
The service from entering the doors was top notch. We felt immediately at home even on a work trip!
Guacamole and margaritas to start - perfect on flavor and taste.
Tacos come 3 to a plate and pretty filling. Loved the carne asada and carnitas.
I think this place is a gem and must go when anywhere within 30 minutes. No brainer and you’ll enjoy great food and great people.
Very nice spot. Nice to see management engaged, courteous and on it.
The brunch menu here is so innovative and creative! It’s a perfect balance of Mexican American cuisine. The carnitas pancakes are LIFE CHANGING. Seriously THE best bite I have every had. The flavors unfold one topping the other. It’s perfection. I’ve been there for dinner and lunch and everything is delicious but what they are doing with brunch has never been done before. Amor y tacos is beyond delicious, it will inspire creativity and open your mind with every bite. See you next Sunday.
Great food and service! Thank you to the staff for being so welcoming and attentive.
Went here prior to a concert at Cerritos Performing Art Center. Food is outstanding as is the service. Would definitely recommend.
This was such a great experience with the staff, food and location. If you’re in Cerritos for anything - make your way here.
Not your standard Mexican food. Unique dishes well prepared and very good. Full bar with interesting drinks, beers, and wines.
Christian was so knowledgeable and helpful with the menu as a first time guest. He must have told the manager because I got a surprise sample of their fabulous Doritos chilaquiles delivered personally! The food was SO good and incredibly flavorful. A nice surprise of a mariachi band to round out the night. Being in the service industry myself, Christian and the manager were personable yet professional and had wonderful attention to detail, even as it started to get packed. I can tell they really value their customers and it shows. Felt good to be so welcomed, respected and remembered by name as I left. Will def be back when in town.
Mexican inspired flavors with a twist. Everything is a different take on classic dishes and it's all fantastic. Whatever you get be sure to order the mole tots to start! And the pork belly tacos from their secret menu are amazing!
This was a second visit for us. The first visit was to meet friends for dinner and the reservations made by our friends. My husband and I liked it so we decided to go for happy hour. Good food and drinks available on their happy hour menu. We will go back again.
Great food, with an eclectic collection of tastes! Love the tacos. The quacamole was delicious!
Service always is, and was, great. We were not sure about our order, and one of the managers came by to justr check if we had any questions about the menu. Very thoughtful.
We were there for a birthday celebration, which was also a Taco Tuesday. The whole restaurant was full, and LOUD. Not obnoxiously loud, just alot of people having a good time. Fun scene, didn't distract too much - but if you like a more relaxed time then stay clear of Taco Tuesday. :-)
Definitely the best restaurant in the area, which isn't known for great options. The service was very attentive and the staff was well-trained, which is super important to me. Food was very good and the environment was fun, inviting and warm.
Everything was fine
When I'm back at my parents' house and meet up with friends, this is my go to. Every person I've brought has enjoyed the food.
First time to Amor Y Taco. We will definitely be back.
Great food and full of flavor! Ambience is loud but it is expected due to how busy it gets. Will come back!
Everybody and everything was absolutely fantastic. 5 stars for sure.
Enjoyed this place food was good wish they had a friendly kids menu I ordered the taquitos for a teen but they failed to say they’re spicy and they don’t have lettuce I know this may be a fancy place but no lettuce in a restaurant? Overall was good I had to stop in another place before home so the kids would eat something not spicy.
Great beer options! Good food!
The tacos were absolutely fantastic and authentic with good portions and quality for a great price. Definitely a hidden gem in Cerritos! The only thing is I wish reservations were available later in the evening.
As always excellent all around . One of our favorites !
We were in Cerritos for a basketball tourney and honestly had no idea where to go. I saw this "gem" on Yelp and figured since it was the sister restaurant of Ortega 120 (in my neck of the woods) we would try it out. BEST DECISION EVER! First off, the margaritas were beyond compare - so fresh and yummy - just perfect. My husband loved the shrimp tacos and my kids loved all the taquitos. They ordered a variety from potato to tinga de pollo - it would be hard for them to chose their fav. My short rib tacos were the STAR and I wish they would bottle up the habanero crema as I would eat that on EVERYTHING!
Our server was very friendly but took a while to come get our order - maybe I was just hot and grumpy from being in a hot gym all day and knew the margarita was calling my name. Once he took our order it was smooth sailing after that. Atmosphere is festive.
Love this place and will be back again!
The food, as always, was delicious! However, the hostess said that we were lucky that the restaurant was not busy because our reservation appeared on her screen an hour earlier. Had the restaurant been packed, we would have waited for about an hour. I told her that I had made the reservation Wednesday morning, and all she said was “Oh, okay.” Nonetheless, she was very cordial and pleasant from the start. I just wanted you to know that there may be a problem with the transfer of information from this app to your computer.
