The food was good the flavors are good and the service was nice the menu need to be updated bent and old looking … the candles at the table were a nice touch my soup was cold my mojito was the best and neat
The only way my father’s 84th birthday could have been more perfect was if it was Summertime and I didn’t have to work the next day. Other than that, it was perfect! I am always afraid that little gems like this restaurant will be discovered and overrun by outsiders who will never love it as much as my family and I do. The food is always good: hot, clean, flavorful and nice sized portions. The prices haven’t really changed in a long time, and it sits on the best street in East Harlem for people watching. The staff always remember us and treat us like old friends when we come to dine. They give us the table in the front whenever possible so we can spread out and enjoy the view and the food. If you tell them there’s a birthday (which I totally forgot that I did in my comments on the invite), they send out desert with a huge sparkly torch and sing you happy birthday! I couldn’t stop laughing because I forgot I had done it and the look on my Dad’s face was priceless! I LOVE this place! It is worth the drive in from Westchester county!
Amazing service, food and hospitality. My party was of 6 people and we had an amazing time. Thank you.
Great food and amazing vibes!
A family favorite in East Harlem where all kinds of people walk by. A truly blended neighborhood where in the space of a few minutes a biker at a light winked at me, a hipster with his Coles and a briefcase hurried home, a woman wearing African cloth from head to toe, and three older gentlemen decked out in their Sean Jean and big chunky gold jewelry glided by me. I love sitting in the booth at the front where a big wrap- around picture window gives me a panoramic view of all these beautiful people who cross paths on the corner of 111th and 3rd Avenue. While the food ( I had an Empanadilla the size of a twin mattress and
my Das had a beautiful, rich saucy Picadillo with chunks of peppers and plump olives) is always good, I must admit that my favorite thing about the place is the atmosphere and the people watching. Before the food comes out, they bring hot freshly fried plantain chips with a creamy mayonnaise-garlic dipping sauce to go with my cucumber mojito. My Dad ordered Chocolate cake for dessert, which the make per order and serve with vanilla ice cream and fresh whipped cream. My Dad begrudgingly shared it. A particularly magical time because they usually reserve that booth for larger parties, but they let us sit there as long as we liked. My favorite Buena Vista Social Club and Guests album was playing, and it was a perfect 75ish degrees on a Thursday when I was on vacation and the rest of the East Bronx was either coming home from work, picking their kids up from school or out enjoying this beautiful day and on their way to get something good to eat…like me and my Dad!
Great music Food and drinks!!! It's my neighborhood go to.
Amazing food and service!
It was our first dinner in New York after moving my daughter here. It was fantastic!
Amazing place. Amazing vibes. Incredible live music. Excellent food.
We had a great time!
The food was average, nothing out the ordinary. I had the vaca frita with yuca con mojó,which was ok. The yucca had no flavor. I had the flan for dessert which was very sloppy and not firm, the taste was decent. I wouldn’t say it’s an authentic Cuban restaurant by the food or even the workers. They had a live band in the evening, it can use some work.
There isn’t much to choose from for a 10 block stretch. This was an oasis in a restaurant desert. Food was delicious. The tamarind mojito was nicely balanced and generous.
I love this place. Been coming here for years as I live close by.
One of the best mojitos I have had and all of the food options we ordered were delicious. I will definitely be returning.
The food was good but the location we were sat way in the back no mucic and no windows was a real bummer to the date night I order ropa vieja which was amazing and I a sangria my bf only order the croquettes because he didn’t like the ambiance was asked to be moved as we had reservations and didn’t like the placement
Sangria was great heniken cold and the food was amazing but the experience was a let down unfortunately
Great food and awesome mojitos, but should have a children's meal atleast for mother's day .
Great date night here always
My 3rd time and i can't get enough. Food drinks appetizer;everything was excellent
The food was great and the mojito drinks are delicious
Went with a friend. Our first attempt at indoor dining. Picked this place because it was close to where we would end up at the end of the day.
Safety measures were all in place. So we felt fairly comfortable eating indoors.
Service was very good.
Our only complaint was the music was too loud & the 2 gentlemen at the next table who had been over served were yelling over the music. Unfortunately or Fortunately the quitter one of the 2 fell off his chair and it took several people to get him up. They left...the music was lowered and we were able to finish our wonderful food in peace.
Food was absolutely delicious! Drinks were good and the music and decor were outstanding
Wonderful 👏 👏
I love this restaurant because the food has always been good in my experience. I went for Valentine's day and my food and the drinks were both delicious.
My date didn't like their food unfortunately. They ordered fried fish and felt that it was very dry. The drinks tasted good, but they weren't strong at all.
The restaurant wasn't super busy and our food and drinks both came out quickly, but the waitress seemed to be backed up somehow.
Overall I had a good experience and will continue to come to this restaurant, but some minor improvements can be made.
Staff was friendly and accommodated our late arrival. Service was really slow and food not as tasty as the reviews said. Afterwards realized most the reviews were for brunch. Will go back, but to try the brunch menu.
Great place ,food was good and the service was good also
Great food and very kind and attentive service
Love this place. I go once a week.
Great job at keeping us safe. My ONLY complaint is that the music inside was a little loud for dinner conversation. I hope that my favorite little restaurant survives these times and we can be with our friends again.
I had the most delightful cubano sandwich there. They have done a fantastic job accommodation indoor and outdoor dining during covid. Very welcoming experience.
From a native Cuban - thank you for this little piece of my childhood home.
This place has become our favorite cuban restaurant near our home!
A very casual place, food is good but drinks are expensive and not that good.
Have been driving past Amor Cubano for many years and decided to brunch in East Harlem vs closer to home in West Harlem. Great decision. Food was great and affordably priced, waitstaff was attentive, drinks were delicious. Perfect Sunday brunch in NYC!
I either go here or take out atleast once every week. It’s a jewel in my neighborhood. The food is very authentic and the portions are worth every penny. I always get their empanadas too. They come with this great cilantro sauce that I wish they would bottle and sell on its own. Highly recommend.
Terrific service, cozy hip Cubano atmosphere, outstanding live music, great authentic menu. Love this place!
Had a dinner date here with my partner. Not only did we have amazing food but the service was perfect. Our waitress was very attentive. I can’t wait to go back.
Food was amazing, live music and service a yes! Love it will come back!
The food, service, music and ambiance were all great.
From the moment we stepped into the restaurant, our experience was amazing. We actually went to celebrate our anniversary and were over an hour late to our reservation but the host welcomed us with open arms and told us “no problem, it is better late than never!” With a huge smile on her face to welcome us.
When we got there the band was killing it in full force playing their beautiful takes on salsa. For drinks we got a pitcher of champagne mojito, totally worth it because we were already feeling it after our first cup. For apps we got the fries calamari and the empanadas. Also delicious and hard to stop eating every last bite. For our entrees we went with the churrasco and the ropa vieja. The ropa vieja was AMAZING so juicy and very well seasoned. The churrasco on the other hand was very bland and not cooked well done like my boyfriend asked.
We also got dessert because why not! I went with the tentacion de chocolate which was heaven in my mouth. My boyfriend decided to get the tres leche, which unfortunately he didnt like so much. By the end of the night, we were so saucy over the mojitos and bloated from all the food. Glad we took an uber and decided to skip driving!
Overall, it was a great experience and a homey and friendly environment. Couples were even dancing all night, young and old. Would definitely return with friends!
